  1. Nothing much interesting. same usual issues. i thought independence celebrations telling different stories can make sense

  2. Nice photos though a bit too political – hope to see more “real life” and less “high seat” players in part 2.

  3. LMAO @ LOKOMbwe…… emwe bantu plz is that shikapashwa  in pic # 11? man is dark like its 11:59 pm almost midnight! plus he has a black suit i thought  he was naked! nazuba yonse pa zed mudala sa-oneka ma whe!

rupiah banda u still have a watermelone head!

  4. Cozmo Mumba really is a boot licker, very embarrassing for his children. Cant our leaders behave in a more dignified manner honestly. Chi George Kunda is looking like a king becoz of chi cozmo atasse!

  5. Dear # 10 what kind of human beeing are you. Is that a human thinking that you are potraying ? Are you insane ? I can not beleive the kind of your thoughts…

  6. I am all for solidarity with our African brothers and sisters but shouldn’t we concentrate on Zambia on our independence day? Shouldn’t the main focus of independence day be on Zambian achievement? I wonder whether South Africans would confer an honour on KK on their freedom day. Just a thought. And also, surely the cake was not big enough to feed all those people?

  7. IS THIS BOY ARCHWELL MAWELE THE ONE WHO SAVED THE BABY’S LIFE AT UNZA BY GOING INTO THE SMALL BOLE HOLE TIED UPSIDE DOWN SOME TWO YEARS AGO???? THAT WAS REALLY BREVITY. I HEAR THOSE BOLEHOLES AT UNZA HAVE NEVER BEEN USED AND THEY HAVE SNAKES?? AND THE HOLE IS TOO SMALL FOR AN ADULT TO GO IN. WHAT MAKES IT EVEN SCARY IS TO GO DOWN UPSIDE DOWN WITH A ROPE TIED ON THE FEET. ANYWAY I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO REWARD HIM WITH MONEY AND FREE EDUCATION UNTIL UNIVERSITY. BECOZ HE SAID THE CHILD’S LIFE BY SACRIFICING HIS OWN LIFE. FEW OF US CAN ACTUALLY AND PRACTICALLY DO THAT ACT.

  8. There they were celebrating a national day as patriots.Sata and his sponsor Kabanda boycotted but with no bearing. If anything, the same thugs boycotted the struggle for independence in 1964 so they have never been party of our national history or value.

  9. That picture of a heavily armed para man a top of a nissan hard body made the whole celebration look like RB was visting a combat zone somewhere in Somalia. Please those top cops who are charged with the President’s security details please use other methods. Our leaders are always safe they are not running military juntas like Captain Camara in Conakary Guenia or some make shift sort of regime. I have not seen the sort of weaponary being displayed by secret agents when Obama, Gordon Brown or Jacob Zuma are moving on official duties . The whole thing looks like drama. This reminds me hwne former IG Mateyo was sported in town centre with a convoy of heavily armed cops as though there was state of emergency. That type of mentality went with the late Wazakaza Nguni. We need modern style

  10. That chap Cosmo Mumba is a political mercenary. He talks his head off and next time when it suits him , will be found in the company of the same pipo he was insulting the other day. This guy is a danger to democracy.

  11. Kanshi lupiya ewapasha abana ububi bati ? Dingani looks just like the father ,pantu the mother to the children bena basuma

  12. Its goog that Ruphia Banda has also tested the independecne cake.sad to morreen coz it’s the time she is remembering her husband during this kind of celeblations.

  13. I just love you, Zambian kids. Tell them, man! Bulela! And what was my girlfriend Dorah and that Mulongoti thing doing together? LT, please don’t show them to us again. We’re better off without them. All those bootlickers, kneeling in revolution. Zwaa!

  14. Ba KK has been turned into a cadre, during FTJ’s and Levy’s reign he was vocal, what has changed kanshi.

  15. zoona RB ifimatwi ubukulu but the man doesn`t listen to what wise men are telling him.your time will come bunyama soya bukapwa.icipongoshi cakwe how can you sit like that showing us your kaputula..shame

  16. Chi Jelly Fish(RB)i will tek u back to d ocean where u belong.Hw cn u b eatin in public lik dat?U will neva change f++c u.

  17. Pictures #1 and #2 – What is the morality in the President feasting with his invited South African friends (foreigners) and Sangomas in the Lusaka Showgrounds enclosure whilst Zambian children are outside starving.
Is there any morality in stopping the Zambians from celebrating the Independence Day with everybody else and participating in the feasting held using government resources?
Any responsible parent cannot start eating before the children have fed.
We can really be certain that the children could smell the aroma of the FEAST, which unfortunately they could not participate in as they did not qualify to be in the presence of the “KING”.
Shame on you President Rupiah Banda, uli nkulungwe walya umwaka umo.

  18. Nice comment #18. That should be the focus of this set of pictures. Unfortunately, consistent with the quality of our bloggers here, none of them has commented on that brave boy. That is bravery. That boy needs to be nurtured through university and one day become commander of our armed forces. That is the responsibility that we need. It is also worth mentioning that the capturing of such an important event for a national award was very important and should be encouraged and rewarded. #20 Wasakaza was alone when he died in that car crash – please distance him from Mateyo’s extravagance.

  19. Does anyone know what the Freedom Statue stand for? Ask the person who made that statue. He actually was not paid for making that statue due to his interpretation of the statue. There’s a fun interpretation of it and somewhat seems to be valid after all.

  20. Cosmo, can’t you respect somebody without kneeling? Bootlicker – to boot. I bet RB’s son Dingani is the South African who now revels in the fact that his dad is president.
