  1. Pictures 1 to 4 should not even be in the national press, becuase those computers donated by Zambia National Buding Society (ZNBS) are obsolete. This is nonsense b ZNBS you cannot donate rubbish and ask the Press to attend.
Ba Lusaka times do you have news or nonsense? muli fipuba sana is this something you can spend all your overheads and costs to publish to the people of Zambia. Stupid!!
Bravo Jameson Lungu on picuture 52-59 no shipula!!! napapa!!

    • NO COMPANY MAKES SUCH COMPUTERS. THOSE COMPUTERS HAVE BEEN AWAITING SCRAPPING FOR AGES. I SAW SUCH A COMPUTER MORE THAN 15 YEARS AGO.
WITH SUCH CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ZNS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES IN ZAMBIA MAKING STATE-OF-THE-ART ROADS IN RURAL ZAMBIA. TO ARCHIVE THIS LET THE GRZ ATTACH ZNS ROAD CONSTRUCTION TRADESMEN AND WOMEN TO PROPER CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES EXISTING IN ZAMBIA AND EVEN ABROAD LIKE BOTSWANA WHERE THEY CAN LEARN PROPER ROAD CONSTRUCTION SKILLS. WITHIN 5 YEARS WE EXPECT MOST RURAL ROADS TO BE PAVED.

  2. Amazing…. Edgar looks great in ZNS. And thumbs up for ZNS’s equipment, hope they will not just use them to produce charcoal from the trees they stump out of intended roads.

  3. What is it Zambian Presidents with army uniforms even the lazy bum Edgar yet the man couldn’t finish his military cadet training!

  4. ACQUISITION and EXECUTION.
Gosh!, that’s a big ACQUISITION. A lot of equipment. One hopes there is a corresponding big plan for Hydro Dams etc.. Unfortunately, photos show only one earth-moving equipment i.e. the Grader (Pic.62). The rest are Low Loaders (pic. 55) and massive cranes. Captions mis-leading? Nonetheless, acquisition is the easy part.
EXECUTION – For my Country’s sake, I honestly wish there is a preventive maintenance plan in place and skilled Mechanics to manage these machines. I hope. As some are aware, execution is the hard part in the equation of development.

  5. those computers are obsolete, so it means each one of us bloggers here can easily buy these tefyo? so i suggest ifwe as ba blogger, lets buy these same computers and donate to our former primary and secondary schools. dont get fancy ones, just the same as the ones we have seen. we would really make a difference.

    • Its laughable really..those type of computers would not even feature in stock of UK or US recycled PCs from Government Depts and School PCs which have been used for 10 years for donation to developing countries as these ( in the photo) are completely obsolete… a company would pay you to clear them for you as its obsolete.

  6. I am surprised that those computers have been donated to make news. Here we throw them on the nature strips for the council to pick and destroy them. No individual can pick them even if you leave them for a year. Zambia is truly the real Africa. Yes, Lungu looks good in his army uniform. He is just fit to work in the army. My heart cries for the elderly in Zambia. Yaba Zambia is truly a hard place for the elderly.

  7. Whether they are obsolete or not the question is can they perform the intended function and add value . if you do have a car and somebody offers a Mark II, you would be a foll to refuse it and instead ask for a latest Merc .

    • Zambians never learn don’t…this Chinese junk may be cheap as chips but come time of servicing this rubbish you will be looking for Chinese dealers, translators and middlemen for a mere clutch plate meaning it will cost more in the long run than a Scania or Mercedes truck.

  8. We have seen the computers. That Manager has reported himself in broad day light. He stole money for real computers, inflated the price for 1990 computers which he donated to the school. His name is clearly in the open. Where are the ACC? Please act. Don’t say, where is the evidence. Its here. He invited the press to collect and publicize the evidence. Valuation of the computers by any IT expert can not place them at the value he claims. He is dull and please arrest him now.

  9. That is a very good looking ZNS uniform, picture 61. Am impressed by their new fatigues. Those ancient green ones were an eye sore.

  10. The ZNS pics look very nice. All those fit kids in uniform and looking so able, 52 onwards, His Excellency is looking very fit and healthy, he even has a little pot belly emerging!! All ready for the gruelling elections!

Love the dancing kids in pic4!

  11. PHOTO 21-22 CHOMA Municipal Council surely why not issue your female officers trousers or pants for health and safety reasons like the male officer is wearing…why go in the field to confiscate or curb down on illegal brewers wearing tight skirts with office shoes and socks…you are no use if they suspects make a run for it.

PHOTO 41-42 Those are the Prefab health Posts (four walls and a roof) we are getting imported all the way from India merely being assembled on site via a loan from India Exim Bank..and you wonder why there is no forex in the country when everything is imported..this is a win win for Indian manufacturing sector all the lazy Zambians have to do is pay the loan with interest.

  12. I think as someone has pointed out, we should move away from purchasing Chinese equipment because it’s not durable. Chinese being more clever than our politicians probably even made them borrow money from China for these substandard machinery. Buy equipment from the West and it will last much, much longer. When will we learn that cheap is actually expensive?

    • clearly there is a need to reform our procurement or acquisition of government machinery and equipment as it is flawed and very corrupt, and is in the hands of greedy dull politicians. In the Western countries they just don’t buy 100 trucks using taxpayers funds because its cheap, it has to benefit their industries or sectors in some way. Why not pursue the Chinese to set up an African assembly base factory for these trucks in Kabwe or Livingstone.

  13. Are those the new ZNS uniforms? Maybee ive been away too long, when did they introduce them? Looks cool, especially on the female officers, real cute. That euipment looks real serious. About computers no comment , but as long as kids can learn some basic stuff on them i guess even scrap is not too bad, less chance of being stolen by teachers and others.
We should really set up a plant making heavy equipment in zambia looking at all the construction we need in the years ahead, rather than bringing all these heavy machines from abroad.

  14. I think that radio system being confiscated is going to the policewomans house. If its illegal shabeen then confiscate the beer, leave the radio alone for gods sake. One african stealing from another african.
