  1. That girl is a joke marrying such an old man for nothing else but grudas. I even wonder whether those babies are Nyama Soya’s ones.

  2. Why should the Summit for all African First Ladies be held in the US instead of having it in one of African member Countries?

You are truly enjoying poor Zambian Tax Money.

  3. Iye imwe!! Isnt there a way of sending some othere representative? I suggest we send esther Phiri in her place!!
Twalasebana nakamwaiche aka. Has she ever even delivered a public speech in her very short life?

  4. Pliz we dnt want embarrasments, whoever is in charge ensure u enlighten her on what 2say.Start rehearsals ASAP and please hire competent dressers like Maureen Mwanawasas and not lace material. Its LA shes visiting,

  5. Ben Kangwa is in Washington? RB pliz shake elevate Doreen Mukanzo shes overstayed at ZNBC. LUk Dora,Margret Chimanse,Everlyn Mutubila….Everlyn Mutubila shud be frnds wth Thandiwe same character of Marrying old n tired fimofimo

  6. Bushe the Foreign Ministry cannot by any chance let the our nations’ ambassador in America represent us. We have nothing against RB’s wife but honestly please….we have better representatives than her. mmmmm umusebanya walafuma uku..oweee!!!

  7. ShakaZulu Ka Sezangankona

That is by far the most disgusting, vile comment you have ever made. How can you insult someone’s mother like that and how can you insult someone’s children like that.

You need prayers my friend. Don’t think your loose tongue wont get you into trouble.
Wow, I have heard a lot of things but that one is just too mean, rude, disgusting and ultimately very hateful.

May GOD have mercy on your soul

  8. its comments like these that i really feel the shoe and clothes saga on Chiluba was proposturous. he may have plundered resources but in my young experience first impressions matter. being around world leaders is nothing but scrutiny and you bettter represent intellectually and dress wise especially if you are from a country most people have never even heard of.

  9. People, calm down! The First Lady has put together a team of very competent technical advisors, that includes a medical doctor, who are traveling with her to insure that she is furnished with all the necessary information to represent Zambia adequately. We really need to start thinking of ourselves and our leaders a bit highly.

  10. Zabia sweet mother Zambia
yes Thandi my sister go show them zambia
    God is by your side
your creator gave you a privelige that millions of Zambian women dont have

    I miss en Love you

  11. “The Summit would be convened by United States doctors for Africa and African Synergy (USDF),a non profit making body formed by 22 African first ladies.”

Why is this summit not being held in Africa? Why is it called ‘United States doctors for Africa’ when it actually comprises African first ladies? When is this colonial mentality going to end?Why are we being portrayed as always being in need of some aid or assistance?
The World Health Organisation being the co-sponsors of the summit should also be mindful of the sanctity of marriage especially as it applies to our African culture. Eliot Laurence Spitzer is still on the loose in the United States.

  12. So ba Abigal, you envy an admire the first lady Thandi! Am sure you are the only one. That poem is enough for today. By the way which year are doing at secondary school? Too much of shakespare will make you crazy

  13. # 19 Ba Moze says

My brother, what will be there to cerebrate about as Thandi goes to LA.

    Amake Temwani bazakababaika cabe.

    Musebanyafye uku.

  14. Ba Moze
Abigail misses Thandiwe Banda and envies her. They could be related.
Ok! ba 1st lady in the USA? sounds good. Madam banda pliz buy some Mac powder foundation. your face is very shine like you work for Indeni refinery. Rubbing shoulders with Burundi 1st lady? Guys nimpopo bad standing next to her can easily make you feel dirty.

  15. BA Moze hw r u? I think wen goin 2LA Thandi shudnt get the chefs who do her hair n make up.She shud go pik some cosmetology students

  16. Kaluku luku, Wansekesha mani!!! She really needs to make an effort, i tell you. I can see her being searched at the airport despite having a diplomatic passport!

  17. Ba Moze am fine,i think Thandiwe standin next to Ethiopian 1st Lady will so shameful becoz akamoneka kwati ni maid waku Darfur….

  18. Abigail fimo fimo……………… R u related to the first family? coz u r the only one who seems 2 c nothing wrong with her dressing.Number 11 has a good point,sum1 else should do it coz nintampa kale ukumfwa insoni b4 tabala no kuya.

  19. Why not hire the same Abigail whose so proud of her to make her face and do her hair,Zambian as i am,am not proud of her 2sheepish…

  20. Shani ama jealousy so? It’s not hard to tell when haters comment. Let the First Lady please do her work while you do yours, unless you are jobless?

  21. Why do we always focus on what women in public look like? Why are women judged by their appearance only? It seems to me that women tend to be the harshest critics of other women. Imagine talking about foundation instead of what the meeting might achieve for our people as regards health? Personally, I dont care what Thandiwe looks like as long as the meeting will achieve results for the people of Zambia as well as our brothers and sisters across Africa.

  22. Zambia sweet mother Zambia
#20 ba moze ya thats my foto thanx
#24 kalukuluku no i am not related to her and not a nun.
i am in university studying public relations.
i just love zambia and all Zambians.
Thandi is trying to be herself. thats how i define happiness. to do what you feel like doing and dress the way you want to dress
    we live once friends REMEMBER.

  23. kaposoka nomba! I hope bakashitako wardrobe yacindamako mwe, but katwishifye ifyo bakayasosa uko. teti mutumeko ba maureen?

  24. Let me try to digress. Abigail, which university are you? I must say that you are really a good person, may be in keeping with your profession.

  25. Mwebantu sure am happy for Thandiwe despite her kanyama dressing.Shel dn better than RB who is always sleeping during summits, atleast shel be alert despite her shinny face.

  26. # 42 thanx but am sorry cant tell you my university pliz understand this internet
#29 your request i put up the following poem for Thandi
    The beauty of Thandi
isn’t in the clothers Thandi wears,
    The figure that Thandi carries,
or the way Thandi combs her hair.
    The beauty of Thandi,
must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that’s the doorway to her heart,
    the place where love resides.

    The beauty of Thandi
    isn’t in a facial mole,
    but true beauty in Thandi,
    is reflected by Thandi’s soul.

It’s the caring that Thandi cares to give,
    the passion that Thandi shows,
    And the beauty of Thandi,
    with passing years, only grows.
Thandi may the Amighty God gives you guildance as you represent Zambia
    you are our mother
    I miss en Love you
    oh Zambia sweet mother Zambia

  27. Abigail I can see take your PR lessons seriously…lol. You are so cool, calm and collected. good luck in your studies.

  28. This is when I miss Vera. Despite all the flak we gave her about her English and looks and how she staged a coup d’etat to marry FtJ, she just steam rolled on and eventually endeared herself to her.
People this chick is our first lady, like it or not so why not be the ones sending her advice instead of revelling in her anticipated downfall. Unfortunately like Peter did to Jesus we want to deny any knowledge/association with her just at the time when she needs our support the most. Zambians!
I agree with Abigail, many here even if they wont admit would love to enjoy the priviledges at Thandis disposal..

  29. . your flag

  30. Abigail you are doing PR? all the more for you to understand peoples sentiments. Ba thandi is not just ba thandi now. she is the first lady!!!! she is married to an old man alright but she doesnt have to act like a senior citizen herself. she has a very beautiful figure but she needs a make over badly. there are alot of gay stylists in california they may help.

  31. Oh my God what a lovely poem Abigal. You are a true poet. This peom am gonna copy and paste on my wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. BBC: Hon. Minister, how do you feel about your current position?

Vera: It is some vely glet achievements in my own capacities as vela to be given some lare opportunities to lun a ministly like tuwalizim. Its lily glet, but l deserve it mwandi I have lily worked hard. The people of my constution in the eastern plovince in zambia are vely good, they voted for me. Imagine, flom maid to wife of a unionist then to first lady, then to MP and to Minister, and again bak to fest ledi now in a foleni cantry. Im rily ploud of my selufu mwandi. Olo nipa Malawi it’s ok.

    Thank you very much.

  33. Zoe: Oh myyyyyyyyyy! I look like a chikubala this morning after Pwende did my make up. I have lipstick all over my nose.

  34. Hi zoe, You are crazy girl. That is very fun. All these pipo who think there is nothing wrong with TB s dressing. What happend to first impressions count. Unfortunately this is the world we live in. She is the fiesr lady , therefore she is representing Zed as a whole. Please tell Mrs TB to invest in a good mirror.

  35. Hey guys why do you think dressing, looks, and education is everything. Stop for once. Let our first lady be. We love her. Vanity is not everything, what does it matter in the grand scheme of things. Your understanding of success is very provincial!

  36. #59. Iwe Zambian Mu Diaspora. Just advertise the position and anyone of us who is interested shall apply for the job. Or give us your company website for profiling.

  37. We must not blame TB for the situation she is in. She just happened to be in the right place at the right time. There was was no public speaking trainning, no dressing training etc. , so pipo i suppose all this is too much for her. Lets just hope she will improve in the next few years.

  38. # 46 naiwe you cant liken Thandi to Jesus Come on get real. We have all the right to deny the woman. We are perfectly within our rights and it wont have any repurcusions on us!!

  39. what was VCT'(Vera Chiluba Tembo)’s proffession/background when she became first lady?. I would like to compare with Thandhi’s status. There’s room for improvement for the young lady, that’s why she needs image builders now. Remember VCT’s english those days, it was ……………………..

  40. Nice Poem #44
Whether others like it or not she our first lady
Gud luck mama first lady go there and represent us big tym.

  41. #68, Vera had no education at all and she went on to improve quite rapidly. But Thandi’ i am made to believe has some humble form of education but so far she seems not to be improving at all. The girl cant even smile and the last time i checked, you didnt need to be educated in order for you to smile! Mwaliba ama self confidence issues muli Countrgirl ulya. And you should also remember that she wasnt just thrown in the lime light suddenly. She was the second lady for sometime!!

  42. Zoe, check this out. Me a zambian first lady , i like to going to soweto , i also like to looking at news pa TV, I have also like to liding books and cooking Nhsima for Bob o soly the plesident. I just wanting to say thank you for getting me here to coming and see you all. i like here. I will use evelyword or sentence i learnting in my country when i go back so that my people can see that i am a fast learning, team prayer and lastly confused, o soly contlibutor to the world at big o soly at large.

  43. Hmmmm! dont worry bloggers, am flying back home to take care of thandiwe’s dressing, make up and hair!Infact, i will even accompany her, whether she likes it or not!

  44. #67, If you undrstand what I was trying to imply, I wasn’t bordering on blasphemy by likening her to JC. I was merely likening the situation to give some perspective. During Jesus’ time on earth he was not revered and that what led to the events of good Friday…
Anyway without digressing, mypoint is that Thandie is our first lady. I never voted for anyone or anything that remotely resembled RB by he now is my president and I will serve and respect him as is required of me. When his wife goes to represent our country I will not be hoping for her to fail but rather, albeit at the least, pray that she gets thru it unscathed the the good of all of us.

  45. #69, the fact that you are saying that she’s OUR first lady means we are entitled to make demands of her as she belongs to us. And right now we are demanding that she, for starters starts smiling at least once a week then get a bit of confidence and with time she can then start representing us properly and not embarassing us as a country!!I think thats not too much to ask mwe!!

  46. ok! she’ll definitely be accompanied by some technocrat.all the best madam 1st lady, plz plz prepare a well researched written speech to conform with the 21st century medics, not ifya fimo fimo.not to let you down but ba maureen cud have done us a score here, but i equally’ve some hope in you,go zed.

  47. # 73, good point. I guess then you ll also agree with my post in #74, right?
Public office comes with some demands and i’m sure thats what we are just asking as a people of Zambia. Just as much as we ask that her Hubby should do a good job of leadin the entire country! Cheers!!

  48. Power Of Education

Education is the key to success.
Education is the gold mine that-
Will never runs out of Gold.
    Education is the most powerful
Weapon which we can use to change
    The world.

  49. #77, you’re abosolutely right about public office operating in tandem with certain demands.
However, when those demands become malicious like (some of the comments before my comment at #46) expecting her to smile more often, I then take offence. Unless smiling is required of her stature(how often has queen lillybet smiled on duty?) I stand corrected.
Most bloggers here are extremely learned folk who should comprehend how powerful this resource we share is.

  50. ….apparently rumour has it that TB’s make-up artist is a former police woman (Dolika) and her hair stylist a former primary school teacher (Mrs Mpongolowa). All the best of luck in Amelica

  51. I came across this poem in a recent magazine. Its about a 25-year-old African woman who has not straightened her hair in 10 years:

You grow on my head like a crown
    Naturally beautiful woven by Mother
    Nature herself
Hair so black like my skin, as rich as my
    Africa
    Uncombed, dreaded or even braided
You’re a blessing from the Goddess
Free from chains of frying agents,
    harmful burning chemicals
Never again will you be enslaved by
“Relax it, so you can maintain it”
And try to look white in the process system
Kinky mass, a gift from badimo
    (gods, ancestors)
    Naturally beautiful, only suited for
    queens

NB: Fellow bloggers if anyone of you reads this magazine regularly as I do, you are truly african.

  52. #79 Ba Honey I agree with your poem. Maybe what we need is to broaden the scope of the definition of the word education itself. Rather than how most people tend to think that, if one can speak good English or Collected a lot of college credentials then they are educated, that i would not agree. Its this rigid simple mindedness that allowed the white man to indoctrinate us and enslave us, not Darwin’s theory.

  53. The Woman I am

Some say I am a strong woman
Some tell me I am a brave woman
Some think I should be more of a woman
Some will tell you I’m a good woman
While some think I’m not much of a woman
Or at all like any woman they ever knew
And that I could be so much more

But all I am is a woman
All I am is my woman
I am the woman I can be
The one I want to be
Not the one I should be, could be, would be
Not so much more, too much like, or nearly so

  54. #86 Ba Honey this is from Wikipedia

In its broad sense, education refers to any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character, or physical ability of an individual…In its technical sense education is the process by which society, through schools, colleges, universities, and other institutions, deliberately transmits its cultural heritage–its accumulated knowledge, values, and skills–from one generation to another.[1]

  55. People, stop hating on Thandiwe. America is full of immigrants from all over the world who dont speak good English. Thandie will fit right in. Noone will laught at her in LA if she doesnt speak well. LA is full of South Americans with limited English. Hell, She can even speak in Nyanja and I can jet over and translate.

  56. #87. Political Black belt. Wikipedia should also include banachimbusa in technical sense. They play a very important role in Africa to propagate our culture and traditional values.

  57. This Ben Kangwa….isn’t he the same chap who was at ZNBC?What is he doing in L.A instead of reading the news on TV?

  58. 90 zozi are zozi me anaza,
thats what they call Career change Just because ba Ben used to be anews reader, does not mean he should not do other things. No way zozi , can do zisi and zati and zis.

  59. now before i go i just want to wish you all nice pipo (All Bloggers) a good wkend, i might be going to a wedding “2morrow up north, but i am not in a party mood. Stay safe and stay blessed

  60. sorry i forgot to wish ba LT a good Wkend , try not to drink too much bear, it is not good for you.Joke. Enjoy.

  61. #92 Ba Honey, I’m not trying to be an authority on education. All I’m trying to say is that; while education is good, it should not be the only measure of the value of man/woman. I know quiet an number of people without college credentials nor speak good English, who are quiet capable of adding value to their lives and that of others. To me that matters more

Education (real) is good for the wise but self destructing to fools and a draw back for learning.

I think the definition above would be enough for me for now,Its quiet broad and I think your poem on education is OK too.

#88 and #89 I think you are right.

  62. LT I don’t think its a good Idea to be trying to crump me. What wrong ‘ve I done. I’m looking at your server right now and the Static IP Address for your DSN is 209.20.75.254 You don’t know what I’m capable of doing even, so don’t tempt me to duel on this right now.

  63. 96 Political Black Belt, what is ba LT doing? Ba Lt mukazinvelako nsoni , do you want to be beaten by Political Black Belt. I f i was you ba Lt , iwould say sorry and put his postings back asap.please dont mess with such pipo.

  64. First lady is headed to Los Angeles I hope she’s done some research on whatever she’s
    going to present.
#96 Political Black Belt at 96 who are you claiming to be man? any 4-year old can search for an IP viewer on the internet. What threat can you possibly deliver to LT, simple man? Grow up

  65. Ba Honey, I didn’t know that you were a poet as well. Mwashaina. I think we should declare this day as LT poetry Day. When is world poetry day?

  66. As regards to # 82, I recommend to you all to get yourself a copy of NEWAFRICAN magazine every month. It is available in most leading book stalls and supermarkets. It would probably help re- frame some of your stereotypes on Thandie and indeed on Africa in general. Have a blessed weekend. Cheers.

  67. Its reported that Exxonmobil is a major sponsor of the event, This Summit i understand is about identifying effective interventions and best practices to help the First Ladies achieve their objectives for their respective countries in Africa.’ This is an excellent opportunity to hold productive discussions about health and development programs that are taking place or you hope to initiate as a first lady eg [HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Woman Empowerment]. Please organise an Entourage of experts, with a serious know-how of the issues on hand. NOT relatives; MP’s; and all that rubbish… let mother ZED benefit for a change!

  68. GOD help us ‘”the Plastics and haters” now rule the way we look.
What has happened to EQUALNESS IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. Sad indeed

  69. Can the Ester of the Good book yet coming from the humble background with divine interventions saving the gallons faithfuls from perishing.. represent us …..in the name of Thandiwe Banda

  70. #102 No Way I’m stunned by your verbal abuse on me. What is it for. Surely I ll not sit and watch your spite go by. What business of yours is what I can do to LT. How do you think I know that they are actually using an X64 based OS on the server and you know how easy it is to crack that Registry and access password info and log on remotely. If you are incapable or a retard its definitely not my fought. You blame your dad for giving such genes. You don’t know me and I don’t know you, I don’t even need to know the likes of primitive homo-sapiens like you. But one thing you are right. I’m actually a simple man and down to earth.

  71. Ba Thandiwe balekeni bende ko balikasha mumpanga. Lekeni bamoneko nefyalo fyayana. But I wont allow her is to start cheating coz I knw more than she can. Safe JOURNEY THANDI!!!
