Celebrated ZNBC Journalist Faith Kandaba has died.
Kandaba who worked for the state broadcaster for close to 20 years died at Lusaka’s UTH this morning after a short illness.
ZNBC announced the death of Kandaba in a Facebook post this morning.
And the Ministry of Information has issued the following statement
STATEMENT BY HON. CHISHIMBA KAMBWILI, MP, MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON ON THE DEATH OF ZNBC TELEVISION PERSONALITY MS FAITH KANDABA
Government has received with deep shock and sorrow, the death of ZNBC television journalist Faith Kandaba who passed away early this morning at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka after an illness.
Government is insufficient of words to describe the pain of losing such a dedicated and hard working journalist at the peak of her journalism career.
As a journalist, the late Ms Kandaba was a household name on ZNBC television in her various responsibilities such as newscasting, interviewing, production of documentaries and live television commentaries.
She was an efficient newscaster and interviewer who will be missed by the Corporation, the Government and the country as a whole.
In her work, Ms Kandaba had a passion to use the media to bring positive change among citizens.
Government, therefore, urges journalists around the country to emulate the passion and standards that the late Ms Kandaba brought to the broadcasting industry.
At this moment in time, our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family for God’s strength and comfort.
Hon. Chishimba Kambwili, MP
MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING SERVICES AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON
24th February, 2016

A normal death report of such a member of society Will include a little bio. How old was she, when did she join ZNBC and which school she graduated from. Please stop your laziness.
Ma lipota yamasiku ano! They give us three sentences then hand to us Kambwili’s statement. Is that what you call reporting? Photocopying someone’s speech and then passing it on to everyone? Even my Creche students can do that.
RIP Faith. This is really sad.
Awe chabipa sana ba Faith wesu.Grew up watching her.Rest in peace mama
Good to see you alive and well, prayed you didn’t die of despression after Sata`s death
I think Faith’s departure is not an issue of her family alone. It is an issue for the country at large. People of such caliber should be honored in words and action.
I would be declaring Faith’s Funeral a state one, to demonstrate that one can be honored outside politics and solely on the basis of dedicated service to humanity.
Sad indeed. RIP Faith Kandaba. We will meet in glory on the last day. Zambia will miss U.
very sad, we mourn her with deep sorrow and grief. RIP Faith.
Sad news indeed , MHSRIP

R.I.P
MHSRIP. You were a hero to my girl child.Sad development
indeed.
Must have been a big hit – how can the whole Minister be making a statement on the death of a newscaster, from natural causes? Help me understand this political gimic, or that is the way everyone of the PF controlled State owned media is honoured these days! All the same: too bad for the loss!
Learn to treat somber occasions with the respect they deserve. Are you posting from a tavern?
rest in peace dear madam
THE LAST TIME I SAW FAITH SHE LOOKED TO BE ON THE BIGGER SIDE. I MEAN HEAVY. SHE WAS PUTTING ON SANDALS AND HER FEET LOOKED SWOLLEN. COULD SHE HAVE HAD A HEART PROBLEM? THE FOOD WE ARE EATING CAN BRING HEART DISEASES WITH HEART FAILURE, HYPERTENSION, DIABETES. JUST THINKING. MHSRIEP.
Chisenga, you could be right. I last saw her last year in Lsk, and she was too big, I would suspect heart problems. However, I remember this lady very well, MHSRIP.
She covered Madiba’s funeral very well and professionally, MHSRIP

Comment:Faith u were a gallant dedicated personality in the news room.u owaz held me spellbound whenever i c u tv.Iam really touchedR.I.P.Meet u on the otherside.
Too bad Sis. May Your Soul Rest In Internal Peace. Amen!
If what is said here by the Minister is the only achievement after almost 20 years of service as a mere newscaster and yet everyone appears to suggest that Faith was hardworking and professional, then why was she not promoted by her employers for all her “hardwork” at ZNBC in her 20 years continuous service. I see serious elements of hypocrisy on us Zambians because we just salute people when they are no more. If people truly mean what is being said here then it is sad because it is of no value to the deceased. May the family of Ms Faith find strength in the Lord during this trying moment.
A promotion is not everything. People can be rewarded in their own capacity.
Sorry indeed! You have run your race now its up to each one of us still living to do our best. MHSRIEP.
We will miss you Faith, you were such a good person. Rest in eternal peace
may your soul rest in peace ms kandaba we will miss you.

Kukonda ku nyengesa bakashana. U die early
Alehandra you are sick in the mind. How do you what she died of.
People lets us be realistic when commenting…I dont think this is a time for jokes and silly comments…Rip Faith, my household and I will surely miss you
VERY SAD, R.I.P FAITH GOD KEEP YOU.
Give deserved honor to people while alive so that they can bask in the accolades than when they leave. Most journalists work hard amidst challenges faced to try and give balanced and factual information to citizens at large but get little appreciation for it. There is need to change attitude towards this set of workers and allowing them to do their job in a very conducive environment as they are the ones that bring the rest of the world to ones’ door step.
Faith took my heart away on her very first live znbc television show. I simply adored this lady, and I will always do! I was your big fan and secret admirer ?
Rest in peace Faith Kandaba!!
They have not found the medication for the short illness yet. What is the other name for the short illness? Also which one is the long illness? I want to make sure I don`t get these illnesses.
