Zambia face Togo in Friday friendly

Zambia kick-off their West Africa two-match friendly tour on Friday when they face Togo in Lome.

Chipolopolo will play Togo and later face Gambia on May 30 as part of the teams preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup Group E away qualifier against Guinea Bissau on June 4 in Bissau.

Against Togo, Zambia coach George Lwandamina is likely to field half of his foreign-based call-ups .

Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene of Mamelodi Sundowns, TP Mazembe midfielder Rainford Kalaba and Chisamba Lungu of Russian club FC Ural are doubts and only expected to arrive just before kick-off.

Daniel Munyao of Red Arrows is likely to start ahead of Zanaco’s Racha Kola on Friday.

The good news his striker’s Collins Mbesuma and Winston Kalengo including midfielder Lubambo Musonda plus defender’s Davies Nkausu and Stopilla Sunzu are in Lome.

Defender Kabaso Chongo and midfielder Nathan Sinkala will only be released after May 30 although Mazembe gave an exemption for Kalaba to join the Zambia camp.

Meanwhile, this will be Zambia and Togo’s first meeting since 2008 when they met in a 2010 Africa Cup/World Cup Group 11 qualifier.

Zambia lost 1-0 in Togo and won by the same margin in the final leg in Chililabombwe.
