Zesco United insist that their two-week period of inactivity will not affect their performance in Friday’s clash against Al Ahly.
Zesco and Al Ahly clash in Suez on July 12 in a 2016 CAF Champions League penultimate Group A match, that should they win, will see them make their semifinal debut in the competition.
Their last competitive game was on July 27 in another Group A away match against Cote d’Ivorie giants ASEC Mimosa that ended 1-1 in Abidjan.
“No, that (the inactivity) is an advantage for us because we have enough energy to play that game in Egypt,” Zesco goalkeeper and captain Jacob Banda said prior to departure for Cairo on Tuesday.
Zesco are second in Group A on 7 points, tied with leaders Wydad Casablanca who host ASEC in Rabat on Sunday.
Al Ahly and ASEC are 3rd and bottom of Group A respectively but level on 4 points.
Go on boys all the best no team is unbeatable have no fear !!!
I think there will be a presidential election rerun, because zesco will not vote on Thursday.
