THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Eastern Province has supported the Constitutional Court for throwing out United Party for National Development(UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema and his vice Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba petition against President-elect Edgar Lungu.

Eastern Province PF Secretary Joseph Kolosa said when he addressed hundreds of supporters carried out march past at Golf course grounds in Chipata yesterday that the August 11th general elections was an eye opener to all Zambians to develop the confidence and trust in the Electoral Commission of Zambia(ECZ).

Mr Kolosa said the UPND petitioned the results without the circumstantial evidence. He said petitioning was a worst of time to the nation which was aiming at denting the image of ECZ.

He said all political players must appreciate with the way ECZ conducted the elections in the country which did not give any political party latitude and space to rig the elections.

“No wonder the late President Sata may his soul rest in peace, never ever petitioned any elections when he lost because he had confidence and trust in the ECZ,”he said.

He said the party in the province was giving solidarity to President-elect Lungu who had shown qualities of a good democratic leader during the tenure of the petition.

He saluted Mr Lungu for his role he played during the petition time. “Speaking on behalf of our hardworking provincial chairman Andrew Lubusha, I am thanking the members of the hardworking committees from the lower organ to top,” he said.

He said it was not easy task to increase the President Elect votes from 89,000 plus which he got during the last year’s presidential by-elections to 300,000 plus in the general elections.

“This is attributed to good leadership at provincial, district, constituency, ward, branch and section levels,” he said.

Mr Kolosa appealed to well meaning PF officials and members to build on and not destroy what has been achieved so that by 2021 there would be no traces of UPND and other opposition political parties in the province.

He said any source of indiscipline, confusion, infighting and acrimony within the ranks and files of the party in the province would not be tolerated.

He explained that those party officials and members scheming to destroy the legacy would be dealt with.

Mr Kolosa asked God to continue guiding the people of Eastern Province and the President-elect for the sake of developments.

Among those who participated in the march past which begun at Shoprite and ended at Golf course includes former Luangeni UNIP Member of Parliament(MP) Besnat Jere, Provincial PF Youth Chairman William Phiri, Provincial mobilisation chairperson Sarah Mbewe Kalaluka, former MMD provincial chairperson Kennedy Zulu and youth vice treasurer Zephaniah Mwale.

the border town was partially brought to a standstill as PF sung songs of praise for the victory in the just-ended general elections.

  1. imbulu ya mano indeed, Jesus wept 🙁 A whole herd of goats begging for the matador, struth as they say in Swaziland!

    • These PF cadres are suffering from illiteracy insufficiencies. They fail to distinguish between a decision and an opinion when it comes to constitution or rule of law.
Visionless PF cadres in Eastern province are wasting their energy and time for a mere self embarrassment of not understanding any matters that patterns with the rule of law. Everything PF cadres is lawlessness and the inept police turned into a PF militia wing are impotently useless. The institutions has been reduced to cadreism, all the professionalism is off the hook.
In a civilized society, all citizens would wait for justified conclusion to which the case is now with the High Court. No wonder criminals like Max Chongo the thug is getting away with horrendous crimes of attempted murder. PF thuggish cadres even have the…

    • …audacity of threatening judges to death. Its no wonder thugs parading in PF as cadres have no respect for the constitution and rule of law. In usual sting of their unlawful and unruly behaviour, PF criminals even camped out at the High Court ground, dragged and intoxicated with dangerous beverages. The police of Kangaja’s PF were even cheering and dancing to dununa backwardness, unfortunately to Anarchy! Yet lol, these cadres have no food in their shanties whilst suffocating with PF load shedding. They have no jobs but to break down all rules of conduct enshrined in the constitution. Pathetic Fleas!

  2. if these people matched in SP, they would be called tribal or all sorts of names. are these not supporting wako ni wako?

    • Atleast they are just matching peacefully unlike your relatives in Namawala who have caused grievous bodily harm, destroyed property and have made other Zambians to become internally displaced on the basis that they originate from other parts of the country and because your tribes mate lost an election. As far as I know, not a single southerner has been attacked in EP. So how dare you label these people tribal?

  3. Compatriots,

Pre 2015 election, Justice Mulenga Mungeni (who practiced law for ONLY TWO years) refused to hear Miles Sampa grief against ECL until AFTER the national election!! Then Justice Mungeni entered a consent judgement between Chama and Inonge and the rest is history.

Come 2016, Justice Mulenga Mungeni working with Justice Anne Mwewa (Has no experience in constitutional or human right law) told petitioners that trial would start on 5th September 2015. On 2nd Sept she capitulated and said it was time up. Then changes and said Monday 5th Sept was still game. Come Monday, Mungeni, Mwewa and Palan (has never written a judgment in his life – a novice) they bandied and refuse to hear the petition.

Why doesn’t Mungeni want ECL matters to be heard in Court????!!

    • Mulenga Mungeni (former ECL classmate at law school and legal secretary at Council Sewerage company) wants to beset this nation with NO judgements:

She did it first time in 2014 to Miles Sampa and said she could only hear him AFTER Edgar participated in the Presidential election in January 2015!

Sensing the wonderful achieving she pulled through, ECL promoted her to Constitutional Court where he suspected that there would be an election petition.

And again Mungeni did her neat little trick again! She working with Mwewa refused to hear the matter on the date they set (Orders of Direction) for their Court to HEAR the Petitioners. Dangerous Ladies. And oh Palan, he is still acting Ambassador to the USA for his mate ECL.

  4. Bane, if you lose you lose, don’t start to practice wrestling wagwa, wagwa that is all. This petitioning song was already on the mouths of this little thing called hh and his elephant friend gbv long before elections. Why were they going around the country in an effort to capture electorates while on the other hand affirming their stance NEVER to accept results should the winner be the Great ECL????? How can a football coach busy prepare his team against the other opponent while on the other hand claiming not to concede defeat should the other team win? That is foolish!!! better pull out once you realize that you are actually an under weight bag hh and traitor jbv. Note that your time is gone king losers…………
