Wife of Copperbelt Minister Nancy Manase Lusambo says there is need to recognise the value of freedom fighters.
Mrs Lusambo said without the freedom fighters, the peace and freedoms that the nation is enjoying today would not have been possible.
She said citizens need to follow the example set by President Edgar Lungu and First Lady Esther Lungu in encouraging peaceful co-existence, community participation and empowerment through supporting and helping the needy in society.
Mrs Lusambo was speaking on Thursday at Ndola Teaching Hospital when she led wives of Leaders of Ndola in donating an assortment of items to some freedom fighters admitted to Ndola Teaching Hospital.
She was joined at the event by wife of Ndola District Commissioner, wife of the Ndola Mayor and wife of the Deputy Mayor of Ndola and wife of the Provincial Medical Officer.
The Wives of Leaders of Ndola donated blankets, duvets, assorted cleaning materials and groceries valued at K15,000 to the freedom fighters.
She said, “H.E Edgar Chagwa Lungu and First Lady Esther Lungu have led by example in encouraging peaceful co-existence, community participation and empowerment through supporting and helping the needy in society. To supplement this effort, as Wives of Leaders of Ndola City, we thought it is wise to put our little resources together to recognise the value of freedom fighters without whose sacrifice, we would not be enjoying the peace environment.”
Mrs Lusambo said she was also impressed with the efforts the management of Ndola Teaching Hospital is making to improve service delivery at the institution.
She observed that there is a positive change in attitude towards patients which has seen tremendous improvement in service delivery, thereby improving the image of the institution.
Mrs Lusambo said issues of efficient service delivery have been of great concern to the Government through the Ministry of Health.
“As Wives of Leaders of Ndola City, we have not just been watching the strides by Government but in a small way have brought this small token of recognising the elderly who are in the category of freedom fighters and in this situation here at the Hospital,” she said.
Mrs Lusambo added, “Quality service delivery is in line with the First Family’s emphasis on hard work and commitment to duty by all well-meaning citizens of our great country.”
She said government through the Ministry of Health is also focusing on health promotion and disease prevention by ensuring that individuals, families and the community at large take responsibility for their own health issues by preventing disease through behaviour change and seeking treatment early.
“To management and Staff, I wish to urge you to continue working hard towards making Ndola Teaching Hospital a Centre of Excellence. This is the start of so many things to come and a little goes a long way and blessed is the hand that giveth,” Mrs Lusambo said.
Its sad to belong to a country where Bowman Lusambo could be your next president.
Her awkward sense of fashion mirrors her husband’s mediocrity
Congole colorful.
donations from the proceeds of theft ba pf(Bowman)…
Lusambo can be a leader, which country is this?
Laughable 🙂
He can be a leader in Lungu’s bedroom!!!
KIKIKIKI is it a new trend in zambia now where wives of politicians must be seen making donations? laughable really; soon there will be a new office of minister s wives created;
Her dress code says a lot about her. No further comment
Isnt she supppose to be addressed as Mrs Dr Lusambo?
The Minister’s wife’s outfit my foot!
CAn someone educate this woman. She cannot compete with the First LAdy, that’s why there is a Minister’s Wives Club not ati Copperbelt Leaders Club, bufoniti ubo imwee atase. Who is she to address the MAnagement and staff of the hospital? She is fit to be a maid sweeping the hospital. Only Mrs Edgar Chagwa Lungu, ie ba Esther, our mother should go around donating, not just any fontini. You are bringing down the integrity of the First LAdy’s donations
I feel sorry for mother Zambia surely! Even this Empty headed pus.sey being shagged by Bowman Lusambo opening up its smelly mouth for nothing! What has she done to give her that political platform?
Bowman’s pr.ik does not give her the right to go to the hospital in full party gear – this cross border trader doesn’t even know dressing appropriately on such occasions? Chi.n.yo ubukulu!!

Why can’t they just donate privately? The hospital foyer needs a clean up. The kitchen where food is prepared for the so called “high cost” on the third floor is terribly filthy. However, there are some nurses that are hard working and very polite but very under paid.
Job well done mahule yama ministers but ka donation is so small 15pin ELO THIS NONSENSE OF everytime saying ECL SAID CHAKUCHAKUTI IS exergerating things just talk what you believe dont put words in ECL AND ESTHER
