  1. Pic #14. This is a norm in Lusaka. You cannot pack a car at your house or you’re risking your life to criminals.

  2. I used to have lunch in Thorpark market with my friends from MOH, upon resuming millionaire my friends started telling me that they cannot eat chibe pakapaka.

  3. too many pictures from lusaka, check CB and other areas. Pic #4, pigs at intercity, these guys are not afraid of swine flu.

  4. HH is an ignorant fool behavign like that when there is a foriegn head of state bodign language avoinding the man to his far right

  5. Interesting pics which leave me with some questions:
How did the pigs get to the Bus Terminal?
Why is Mugabe seated away so lonely at an official ceremony?
Is LCC not doing it’s job sufficiently for private garbage collectors to come in?

  6. iyee are those ngwees in pic 1 wow its been long! I also remember intercity terminus ,terrible place to be when schools close- at least in those days! pic 14 Zambia is one dusty place -one always had to wipe their shoes after walking from point A to B. No place like home though

  7. Pic# 3, that intercity bus terminus is a nightmare, survival of the fittest. I was there 8 months ago. Every ng’wang’wazi trying to grab your luggage in the name of service.Even fists flying over each other for control of handling luggage.. never seen such behaviour anywhere else…really embarrasiing..

  8. #8 ala mwansekesha at least ba kaponya mu pic 5 look clean though. But those Thornpark roads are serously dissapointing ka

  9. Pics#12 and #13….Ahhhhh! this is where you find Lady Chiza’s legs with his famous T/bone ne emboya pa window muli motoka every lunch time???…

  10. I am far away from mother Zambia , I relly miss home. Let us not forget the past … I am really greatful to FTJ Chiluba … He is a graet man. Mpombo Diesel is really brave a courageous too… Let us wait for something good to happen via his action. I miss home, we will meet ….. PEACE ,…

  11. #10 Kadoyo, funnily enough I had a 14 year old daughter with me and there is this notice/ rules . and my daughter goes ,what does loitering mean when everyone in here is doing exactly that??? that made me have a belly laugh.

  12. What are those pigs waiting for pa station? CR? Ama zed coins chali kale!! MMM ba receptionst aba mwati tabayafye mukuchita entertain ama lodgers?

  13. # 6 I think you need to look at the picture of Kikwete again. You will realise that your comment is misplaced or maybe I need to pint out to you that HH is bowing down whilst greeting Kikwete.

  14. Ba Mugabe pa #9 even relaxing. How do such people move around freely, do they have a conscience. Mugabe has broght untold suffering on Zimbabweans, people have been forced into prostitution to find money to feed their children. educted people reduced to chocolate vendors……chimanibaba. Ba LT you are lying that the council does not collect garbage. I hate it when people who diseminate information peddle lies. The council has a waste management unit., well I know for Lsk that collects garbage at a minimal fee. The trucks are seen all over and the green bins all all over.

  15. Suprised that scrap metal has not yet been extracted from the dumped cars. I hope they’ve stopped vandalizing Zesco substations too for “cooking oil”

  16. Picture no 14 I admit I have eaten there before and their food is nice. Otherwise this is a true reflection of life in Zambia. I miss the place sometimes.

  17. Animals at intercity you can tell that there is no SPCA or fight against Animal cruelty in Zambia. Shileya kwisa inkumba.

  18. Does Mugabe have reletives in Zambia???…………..I read somewhere that he is Undistroyable if there is such english

  19. #17 Mrs Stevens exactly! What a clever girl you’ve got. But ba kaponya ba pa Zed never cease to amaze me with their mipontos and jokes. JHB ones extreemly rude and rough while CPT ones polite and extreemly helpful

  20. Picture No.8 will the powers be look into the sanitaion situation at Levy’s resting place. The place continues to attract pipo from all walks of life locals and foreigners and there is need for a full time caretaker. There is no need for excuse of lack of funds I am sure the previous presidents, serving and future ones when nature calls to pack up they will find themselves there. What happened to the Kenyan Gvt offer to train Zambian officers on how to maintain the late President’s resting place? Or was it just political taku from that part of Coalition Gvt. Someone to help me on this one. There usually one cop assigned I wonder if they are provided with lunch and smark looking kit. Those guys are supposed to be wearin g ceremonial. It ud ve made sense if ZNS,ZAF/ARMY tuku guard daytime.

  21. Its a relief that during colonial and post independence times pipo from N/West were called Nyamazayi that encouraged our brothers and sisters to study hard. Now its different story its guys from the North & East who have taken over the job. During time its was really kip Rhodesia & later Zambia clean. We did not need donors to come and teach us how to live in a clean environment. Mind you CLEANILINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS. As for my friends from South I ve often visisted their villages and when called by nature its difficult to find chimbusu just got told wait for night go behind animals get pushed around in the morning and its cleared. Ku Liverpool and west its right from the canoe and business is done. Lets us kip our environment clean. I invite guys to visit Zambezi & Mwinilunga to leni

  22. The picture of fairview hotel reminds me of how zambian hotels are crooks, why the charge so much for subpar services still amazes me. Thats supposed to be exectives eating on plastic take away plates

  23. PIC No. 9 i HAVE BIN SEEING ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE’S PHOTOS SINCE TIME FOR LIBERATION THE MAN’S HAIR DOES NOT GROW GREY. DOES HE PAINT IT EVERY DAY OR ITS JUST NATURE. THESE AFRICAN LEADERS THEY WANT TO LOOK YOUNG IF WHEN NATURE DICTATES. THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE WHO RECENTLY DIED HE KEPT HIS HAIR PAINTED NOT DYED. NO WONDER THESE GUYS HAVE CRIP ON POWER. LOOKING AT JAKAYA KIKWETI THE MAN LOOKED FRESH AND LIVE NO COLORING. THE ONLY GOOD THING IN PHOTO NO. 19 IS HH HUMBLED LIKE A TRUE AFRICAN CHILD GIVING DUE RESPECT TO ELDERS. THE GUY TALKS & DOES THE OPPOSITE WHEN IT MATTERS AS FOR PRESIDENCY COME 2011 SATA WILL USE HIS EXPERIENCE AND NUMERICAL ADVANTAGE TO CARRY THE DAY. UPND WILL USED AS BALANCING FACTOR. HH WILL VE TO WAIT UNTIL AFTER 2016. HH & UPND HAVE BIN GONGADI WHICHEVER WAY U…

  24. #38 romour has it that he did a micheal jackson too, but the African way (he was cooked in Mozambique) Very natural and no reactions and no major side effects except hating white people.

  25. LT, Please stay faithful to your duty of informing and educating your readers so that they are able to reach valid and informed opinions. Try as much as possible to avoid the bias that has become the main feature of Post Newspaper. In pic #15 you say private operators collecting waste because Council garbage collection does not exist. The accurate position is that the Coucil has given private operators mandates to collect solid waste in designated areas and to do this the operators sign agreements with residents for such collections. I believe this is a good solution and it works well where I live. In pic #17 you say fairview where Executives eat. Actually, there is no legal restriction or adminstrative barrier to discriminate aginst anybody. Remember, you have an international audience.

  26. # 7. who cleans Levy’s Tombstone ? looks clean. Does anyone know how much they are paying the cleaner and to which ministry is reponsible ?
#16 Do those newspaper vendors know about the LT or you lied to them saying they will be TV ? and #4 inkumba mu station please, does this mean there is no control on what enters the station ? Next time show us pictures from different parts of the country aini.

  27. LT maybe we should send pictures so we have a mixture you pick out the best to show (contrast). Bloggers what do you think??? it doesnt have to be a picture of yourself but anything you come across that is interesting would LT be up for it??? oh and bloggers

  28. Will some one assist me? Which Zambian tribe cerebrates the Lwindi in Southern Province which Mugabe and the likes attended.

  29. The answer is the Tongas. I am sure you saw the article on LT some 2 days ago which RB said Tongas are good and hard working people.

  30. The Intercity guys in Pic 5 look intimidating. Can you trust them with your bag. Are they really workers or kaponyas.

Please get us pictures from villages as well.

  31. Zosa Mugabe attended the Lwiindi in Livingstone for the Toka Leya at Mukuni village near the Victoria Falls. There are two Lwiindis one in Monze for Tonga’s and the other one in Livingstone for the Toka Leya’s though strangely happen at the same time.

  32. Pic # 13, imisebo sure. The car looks like it is balanced on 3 wheels! Reminds me of one of the trips i undertook to chilenje (Lazy Man’s) to have a beer and check out tuma honies mu hood. The road there is unbeleivable, at one point i thought i was in the movie transporter 3 coz the car was nearly on its side!

  33. Fairview hotel “where Lusaka executives have lunch”?? Thats very funny. I must admit when i was last in Zambia due to having missed the local vegetables and other delicacies i used to have my lunch there quite a lot. I thouroughly enjoyed it and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, but to say where executives eat is pushing it a little. Its nice to see pictures every week.

  34. Pic. 8 Too many workers clouded a the reception? That is inefficiency, the owners of this hotel should do something, may be it is Kapoko’s lodge

  35. Does Mugabe polish his hair with Nugget shoe polish. So old but not a single grey hair.Maybe his jonny’s hair would tell a different story! Coz if he put nugget there as well……..poor Grace….shalande sana.

  36. all you guys who pass comments l luv u and thax, my day was shit till l read all yo comments and l was in pain cos of laughter, pliz kip up the humour thats why l miss home.No 54 u re really the one thax all,l have no comments on the pics l guess thats zed for us.

  37. Nafuluka, ndeya mu August even if dust is real around the time i ll be there…..home is home. Ndetina fye ka Teta na chi shikapwasha

  38. Pic. 1 is showing coins which are now obsolete. Why can GRZ ask all Citizens with coins to hand them back to the Bank of Zambia or at special points so that they could be melted into some useful products as a way of disposal that can help us regain some money value from those coins.

Pic. 11 has remnants of vimbayambaya (very old vehicles) and I am wondering what plans GRZ has with regard to extracting useful money there.

As for Pic. 19 President Kitwete and president HH are looking ready to discharge National duties while President RB Banda appears to be forcing himself to continue as Zambian President as he looks like their (Kitwete and HH) father — folowing his own words about him being HH’s father at his recent press conference.

    Have a good day.

    Matt 6:33 + KJV…

  39. Bola Panshi # 53. Agree with you about the inefficiency of having so many people at reception. Fair, and any other hotels in Zambia, rarely operate at above 60% occupancy. To be efficient therefore, they would have to fire a lot of workers, which would lead to untold misery. From a management perspective i do not encourage wastefulness, but taken into context, and considering fairview is not a private institution, there are some social-economic benefits to having over employment at times. think of it as a form of welfare benefit.

  40. There has been serious debate in Zambia on the best method of baptism.

Some think that submerging is the best while a million others think sprinkling water is a lot better

Monkeys sat down on it and decided to do a reseasrch on the best method; one sprinkled on RB but there was no repentance what so ever. So the other decided to submerge Mpombo and we have all seen the results….

Please Repent and choose the best

  41. Nice Pics, No. 10(samurai), What great things did chiluba do. Dont talk about selling houses to miners coz, we the new employees dont have decent accomodation. Lets not forget our mother tongue but still lets remind ourselves that only(usually) English can bring food on the Table. Yes we should respect culture, but remeber that that is all bututulism. If people used to use cort carts, it doesnt mean that if we can afford we shouldnt use cars. Civilisation is key. How can you be using a language unknown even by your president in an official function, just like SATA who uses bemba in all his campaigns. It tells me something

  42. #38 Please don’t type all in CAPS — it is very hard to read and is often taken as SHOUTING!
If you have a disability of course that’s fine.

  43. I thot I heard somebody say, “You can’t destroy Mugabe”. But who said they want to destroy Mugabe? Doez he need destroying, and what for?

  44. Surely there could have had some more pics of the ceremonies in Southern Province like you did for Kuomboka and N’cwala?

  45. Zambia is a dirty place. how can u have gabbage and people at the back of the truck? no wonder many people are dying in Zambia. Dont the contractor have the trucks which are used in Soouth Africa? o sorry, you need proper bins to use such trucks. shame on Lusaka city council.

  46. TK 61, i agree with you regarding 38s’ use of capitals. It is gramatically wrong and creates the nuance of someone shouting or being rude. Capitals at the beginning of sentence or for proper nouns.

  47. Chanba 65, Zambia is not South Africa so why do you expect them to have what they have in South Africa?? There are a lot of fundamental factors which affect our economy and they will take time to correct even with the right administration. Its a bit naive to expect an economy of Zambia’s size and lopsidedness to be comparable to S.A. To pretend you are shocked, as if you never saw worse dirt when you were in Zambia is just plain embarrassing. Do you think that nurses would be striking for want of more money if there was enough to buy bins? When you were in Zambia, did you, or your Parents pay a levy (Council Tax) to your local government to cover provision of services? Where was the Rubbish at your home thrown, was it collected by bin men? Keep it real.

  48. LT you are slowly turning into the POST, what has goverment done to you? showing frustration through the captions on your pictures. Nice pictures but dont be the judge unless you are not simply showing the pics but trying to convey a message. In short, the captions highlight your opinions. Have a great weekend all!

  49. Instead of ka Mugabe, you should have shown us some Toka-Leyas doing their thing – even the other lwiindi, we didn’t see anything!

  50. These are good pictures, they bring home memories. As for # 9. Nine Chale if what you said is true, I might have an answer.(Why your comment are not being pub)

  51. Josphat, leave chanba alone. He or she came form a clean village and a Zambian city where there were council bins. Money is there in Zambia but corruption has made people like you think that there’s no money for councils to buy bins and refuge trucks. Where does the money the people pay for rates and car parking fees etc go? Look at the pot holes on our roads when people are always road tax and parking fees. High time we made our councils to be responsible.

  52. I remember when I was a lighty in Zed, (before we moved away….) My sister and I used to buy ‘milk biscuit’ and a kama small tin of ‘condensed milk’ pa ‘chingungulu’ for about 10 ngwee or so! Coins were important in those good old days. Nomba tushimi fye…. 🙁

  53. fairview is a training hotel hence the students training at reception!!! Ba LT that is Royal Livingstone and not what is published.

  54. Those photos lack imagination and are very boring. There is no motivation within the head of the photographer. This weekend in pictures could do better.

  55. people askin bout the animals cant see dat they are in a truck probably being transported to a slaughter house….

  56. NUMBALA 5 VA KAPONYA THEY HAVE PICKED UP.. LOOKING EVEN BETTER THAN SOME PEOPLE WHO I KNOW WORK IN OFFICES.. WAY TO GO GUYS.. OLO MAY BE LT CHOSE BETTER LOOKING ONES KAYA

  57. What the heck is Mugabe doing in Zambia. RB, honestly, be a bit more introspective about ur decisions. are you telling us that there are guests to invite to these ceremonies except lazy mugabe who is sensding poor Morgan all over the show to beg on his behalf … remember friends, birds of a feather, flock together!

  58. that should read: What the heck is Mugabe doing in Zambia. RB, honestly, be a bit more introspective about ur decisions. are you telling us that there are NO guests to invite to these ceremonies except lazy mugabe who is sensding poor Morgan all over the show to beg on his behalf … remember friends, birds of a feather, flock together!d

  59. How i will jump on the Zed currency collection; these folks need to have a website where we can buy stuff like this.

  60. the images are true reflection of our country..contrasts and showing daily grind..it gives one hope to see that after all there are human beings with needs like everyones…please post more images like the one of the bus terminal..i remember it with a foul smell etc..hope that has changed..it’s the small things the effect change, the pigs thats funny afterall we are Africans at heart.the picture of Rb and HH introducing Kikwete.that there is to affirm that this is the guy (HH)you will be dealing with so you better know him…
