The list of players at Zambia’s training camp in the south of France swelled to 19 today.
Andrew Sinkala of 2.Bundesliga club Augsburg joined the team on Tuesday evening.
Today, defender Emmanuel Mbola from Pyunik Yerevan in Armenia joined the Zambia squad at 13:00, according to delegation leader Bonny Mwamelo from France this afternoon.
Zambia tonight take to the field to play a training game against French Ligue 2 club Nimes.
The team will leave for Algeria on Friday ahead of Sunday’s 2010 World/Africa Cup Group C match to be played at 23:00 Zambian time in Blida.
Utumakula nato tuleonaulefye $$$!!! so they come back defeated, as usual!!!
What difference does it make even if we have KAKA.We aint going nowhere truth be told.Taxpayers money is going to a worst
You bloggers above there should not complain about tax payers’ money. What taxes do you pay? Are you not the same people that support fancy european football clubs? Tisiyeni bamene tilipila tax, ti pase support. We Zambian taxpayers are theonly ones with the prerogative to complain if the zambian team loses. That is really our money they will have wasted
another wastage of tax payers monie, why not just pull out??
We have every right to talk about tax-payers money.!! We have worked in Zambia we continue working for Zambia for feeble minds like you # 3. Just because we are in foreign lands does not mean we cannot have a say about issues happenning at home. K1.3billion to help FAZ…do what? Football is not the only sport in the country. Look at PE in Schools…the development of sport at grassroot level is close to zero in our country…yet people like have the cheek to say the rubbish above. It is for this reason and this reason alone that Zambia hadly sees any progress in sport.
Iwe %!!
Am not feeble minded like you, blinding supporting european football, leaving your own relatives to wallow in poverty, trying to spanner any chance they get to make money. So you have worked in Zambia but that was then and this is now. What do you know about zambian taxes except what you read and hear about. Ask me about, as I feel it and i know it.
Make yourself happy JD. Life is short and if bashing people back home makes your day, go for it. Even your talk on PE in primary schools, what do you know? you are all book knowledge, nothing practical. Bash some more
#7 Lusaka, walasa boyi! These are the ame people when the team is doing well that dig up their tuma old Zambia jerseys and take out their calculators and start calculating mathematical chances. The reason why football in Zambia is retrogressing is because most of us are very good armchair critics. All talk and no action. The zambian government has an obligation to promote football and all sport. Would you rather they used money to buy more hearses(no offense to the idea). To develop soccer, the team has to go into genuine camp and play real matches and that costs money. It is hard for the average Zambian to be given a visa, and thats why we had debacles like the london saga, but guys we should just rally behind these guys that giving heart and soul for country.
First of all, I am not a soccer fan…I work in Zambia. Meet me at Cheetah Lodge / Lusaka next week on Friday at 16.00hrs. We can have a chat over a beer!!
Anyway we just have to support the boys.
The Zambian Government has no legal objective to support football or single out one particular sport…in this case soccer. The primary objective should dwell on the strategic approach to develop all forms of sport at grassroot level to sustain competition. The amount of money spent our soccer team is just diabolical…unjustified compared to other spheres of sport. We failed to host the All Africa Games due to the lack funds/lack of infrastructure. This brings in the issue of strategic planning by the authorities. Sometimes criticism is okay …but only when it can be subtantiated. We will always support the boys what ever it takes but this hadly means other forms of sport should suffer. The idea of attacking each due to differences in opinion is sad. Hey Aussie boy, watch yourself…!
#7, while you are right that we should support the national team no matter what, JD is right when he says sports should be developed from the grassroots i.e P.E, soccer academies etc. The fact is what ever FAZ has been doing in the past decade or so has not been working and so it is time to invest in a new plan, actually, a long term plan. And even if we Zambians abroad do not pay taxes now, the amount of money we send back home runs in the billions and contributes positively to the economy.
Sport shares the core values of capitalism that seeks any productive opportunity for profit. Our sport lacks significant investment to enjoy some forms of profit, be it in football or any other Olympic sport. The amount of Money Govt. has thrown at football alone is more than the amount of money any Z’ Govt. has channelled into sport since independence!! What has FAZ got to show for it? Absolutely nothing!! This boils down to accountability/transparence. It is a bitter pill to swallow but relevant authorities and voluntary can generate significant social capital that can help sustain the sports provision for the betterment of our beloved Country regarding sport. This is fact. Zambia lacks credible sports management teams that have the knowledge to improve sport in our country period!!
it is important to support our local team but let them reciprocate this support by giving us, at least, the desired results. administration should also be serious!
From the way things are unfolding, all you guys with negative sentiments are mostly likely going to swallow your words come monday 01:00hrs, because Zambia will emerge victorious. I know a good number of our players, their mentality is very strong and they know what is at stake. A wounded chipolopolo is very dangerous. If you have never seen a good performance by our team, wait for sunday. I will always, I repeat ,always support our team, because I played football with some of these guys and I know their potential, Its just that I went to study at University and had little time to play football, otherwise we would have been together with these guys. Go guys Go, Chipolopolo eye… Sipolopolo eye…, 90 minutes will tell who will win, We have confidence in you, all the best.
#7 Uli fontini. When KCM, Mopani,ZRA, the taxes payed belong to Zambians. I am in the USA I am Zambian so by right I have a say on tax monies. if it is only individual ,i,ncome taxes yes but it is not not. Think please
WE can only wish the national team (Chipolopolo Boys) the best as the take on Algeria on Sunday punch for a punch. The Chipolopolo Boys tend to do better when you least expect them to perform wonders. Just wait Algeria will be beaten in its own backyard. Yes GRZ poured in K1.3Billion for this assignment. In fact they should have doubled that amount. VIVA CHIPOLOPOLO. Pastor Makembo is there going be supporters chartering a plane to cheer the team in Algeria or not?
Hope they will get a point though it would be a miracle. We still need a lot of time to have a formidable team to go to the World Cup.It pains a lot if you dedicate your time to watch our National Team playing below par kind of football.Maybe we just have to look forward to 2014 world cup. I think we can build the young boys to bring us glory. This team ungadwale chabe kutamba ba Zambia!
Lets expose our players to great world football not South Africa and second divisions in Europe and some clubs pasouth. We will definitely lose this game .Zambia 2 Algeria 5. We will meet you on monday morning after the game.
There is only one way to the top and that is playing formidable sides. Thats the only way we will develop football in Zambia at country level. So the question of wating tax payers money is out. What can you say about the athletics team that we sent to Berlin? Some lost terribly but broke their own/national records. This is a development in one way. Its not only football which is supported.
FIFA says for the love of the game. lets not bring in politics into this game. Football has always been there in Zambia even before King Kalu started kicking the ball.
ALL THE BEST BOYS! WE MUST BE ALL WEATHER SUPPORTERS NOT SINGING ON TOP OF THE ROOF WHEN WE ARE WINNING. VIVA CHIPOLOPOLO!!!!! TIWINE ..TILUZE TULIPAMBUYO PA ZAMBIA.
Long live Algeria. Algeria will win. because is RAMADAN BLESSING God willing
