Christians urged to pray for the quick recovery of Minister Tetamashimba

A Ndola Clergyman has called on Christian believers countrywide to pray for the quick recovery of Local Government and Housing Minister Benny Tetamashimba who is reported to be in the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Zambia Teaching Hospital.

Covenant believers Church Pastor Yobe Chishimba told ZANIS in Ndola that Christians countrywide should pray for the quick recovery of the minister because he was a Servant of God in his capacity as minister of the people of Zambia.

He said the Christian bible scriptures urge those who believe in God to pray for their leaders all the time, including during times when the leaders are ill.

He said all positions of leadership and authority come from God and it is God only who chooses leaders at any given time.

Pastor Chishimba said Mr. Tetamashimba is a courageous man and a leader with immense influence on national issues.

He further described the minister as an honest person who needs the support of all peace loving Zambians for his quick recovery.

Another clergy of Bethsaida Church called on all Christians to remember the political leadership in prayers all the time for continued peace that Zambia has been enjoying for many years.

Pastor Emmanuel Nyirenda told ZANIS in Ndola that it is a duty and call for all believers to remember their leaders in prayers all the time for God’s guidance and direction.

He further said every leader serving in any capacity is servant of God and needs God’s anointing, wisdom and guidance to lead properly.

He said Christians should not join in public criticism of leaders, but pray to God to give the leaders good direction and guidance.

He said he was happy that Zambia has continued to enjoy peace and that the country is a shining example in the region, a scenario which he said should be sustained through prayers for the leaders at every level.

Mr. Tetamashimba was admitted to the UTH intensive care unit on Tuesday upon arrival from South Africa where he had gone to seek medical treatment.

Both UTH Public Relations Manager, Pauline Mbangweta, and Ministry of Health Spokesperson, Kamoto Mbewe, have confirmed that Mr. Tetamashimba is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

However, Dr Mbewe could not provide details on why Mr. Tetamashimba discontinued treatment in South Africa.

He described the condition of the Minister as stable.

  2. Heey you pastors…..as christians we know that. However God does nto allow leaders to be yes bwanas or bootlickers always saying nonsense. As much as it is the duty of every christian to pray for leaders, in the same vein leaders should seek to share the national cake with the people. Not this selfish govnt of the MMD-thieves. And bwana pastors it is also good in the light of the word of God to call a spade a spade. Teta is well known for his d.u.l.l bootlicking who has enraged many Zambians by is inspid utterances, thus its wrong for you to say Teta has been damn good to Zambians. Any way as a christian I wish him quick recovery and change of attitude towards Zambians.

  30. There are a lot of people who need prayers in our Country! As we are talking, some are just debating from which tree are they going to pluck leaves so as to make a meal. They do not know what they will have tomorrow! Surviving by GOD’s grace! I have been to remote areas & people have to walk 72 Km, just to sell items worth 30 pin & then walk back after getting Sugar & Salt.

    Those are the people who need more prayers!

What pleases GOD is to see that all the people are treated with grace & it’s the task of govt to ensure that a common man whom GOD loves is attended to, & not insulted & be treated like a beggar! Govt paints a picture as though they are doing a favour to the Zambian people, yet it’s the people who did these politicians favours. He was flown to South Africa to help him recover but that has not been possible, so just be bold enough that he will be no more and prepare his children for the bad news. Our children know we shall die some day so death should not scare them but we should as a society who valued their parent comfort them genuinely. be bold and tell the children the truth and show them that you cared they will never forget you. As for Teta, I will use my last prayers to pray for myself, I have no business praying for mercenaries whose only purpose in life was insulting Zambians and bootlicking Kanitundila.. Besides, why should I pray for a chap whose sickness I do not know? It’s like asking a doctor to provide a cure without disclosing the illness first, impossible.     The charter carrying Thandiwe, wife to Zambia‘s fourth president Rupiah Banda jetted into Malindi Airport on Wednesday.

    The First Lady was from the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and will be staying at the luxurious Hemingway Hotel.

The man was brave and averted a crisis. Whilst others were down playing the critical condition Levy was in he spoke out and put record straight. Even in his case the man’s survival chance is 50/50. If was brought back from RSA and straight to ICU at UTH, that signals the seriousness of his illness and pipo should start preparing for his funeral.   110. Does God really promise to cure diseases miraculously for all? What happened when these so called faith healers came together to pray for one prominent politician who was admitted at some military hospital in France? They prayed for a cure but unfortunately the patient died. Calling for such prayers will just result in misuse of public funds as these so called men of God will have to organised public functions to pray for the sick. I wish we could ask them for a refund if the cure does not occur. If they want let them offer their own private prayers.
