Parliament has ratified the Presidential appointment of Mrs. Annette Chirumba Nhekairo and Mr. Ali Derrick Simwiinga to serve in the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
Parliament has further ratified the Ministerial appointment of the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Board.
Mrs. Annette Chirumba Nhekairo will serve as Vice-Chairperson and Mr. Ali Derrick Simwiinga will serve as Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Zambia.
Mrs. Juliana Kunda Mwila, Ms. Mulenga Mpundu Kapwepwe, Mr. Nonde Matthews Kaniki and Mr. Nalumino Bruce Chyapeni will serve as Directors of the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation Board.
Nothing mentioned about the staff that comes along with the board of Directors.
Same people roving from one board to another. Is zambia short of new brains?
These are unknown, except Mulenga Kapwepwe.
Why is it that in Zambia these so called Boards of Directors are kept recycling as if the country has short of people? No wonder these Govt Parastals fail to perform because old people the like of former Kitwe town clerk Ali Simwing’ s usefulness is outlived hence,he is supposed to rest and give room to others or younger ones…bupuba nganabasumina ichifulo including nabambi abakote banabo
IT depends on lobbying from the head of state, if u have credentials and uli ndwiii this is the result, u shall never save for mother zambia, better get a Job in the diaspora Prof. chirwa should be appointed MP but since he doesnt boot lick all the knowledge will end up being well utilised in diaspora. I know one good railway engineer a young man full of knowledge and experience but he is working with the chinese in China and developing railways in all african countries because he is so dedicated to his Job and Zambia don’t know him
ZNBC boards are known for being rubber stamps. The minister makes all the decisions for deadnbc so why the pretence of electing a board. Oh I forget. Its so that some people can have a farm from which to eat
@Anyoko: You are spot on, mate. We miss Kaunda on this score. He used his intelligence net work to head hunt. This ensured that all Zambians, known to him personally or not, had equal opportunities.Truly a president for ALL Zambians!

But talema nabo bantu benangu mwe. And yes, I’m talking about Kapwepwe – you mean she hasn’t groomed anybody over the many years she has sat on these boards? It’s like kuli ka agreement somewhere that these people are entitled to positions – there are some young, vibrant women and men that can perform in the same roles.
