  1. Gentelemeni, na escalator naishupa ukukwela for a member of the presidential delegation ???? its embarrassing to the nation…!

  2. This is the kind of stories fit for Lusaka times. This what LT is useless and getting ever useless. We really enjoy when you do this. This is what you are meant to be

  3. Please please please please!!!! Before these politicians go abroad, train them how to walk on Escalators. This is really embarrassing!!!!!!!!! We need to have the Escalators also in Zambia, Zimbabwe has many buildings with Escalators!!! Tavionelanji!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. TOTAL EBARRASEMENT, AMA ZAMBIANS MAWE. THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU TAKE A BUSH MOUSE (CHIKOSWE) TO NEW YORK. I WOULDNT BEHAVE LIKE THAT INVITE ME YOU SEE.

  5. Ok I have laughed enough ..and I can’t add more. So who is the guy that fell. Does anybody know? Is that D I C KSON JERE? Can we have the name please those that know the man so we know the type of people we are dealing with. NAme please Name please Ba LT

  6. Oh my word! Vachisungu batata! I can never stop watching this. Ba LT thank you evry much. I have just been told that was Senior Citizen. By the way, did anyone notice how our president was matching when Senior Citizen was tumbling? Hilarious. Despite all the attention our president got no mention. I bet the CNN repporter thought he was a bodyguard as well!. Got to download this! Hilarious!

  7. Blimey should have read marching in the above and very! Just downlaoded the clip. Hilarious! Umusebanya ba MMD Chief Boot Licker. Mwatusebanya mwe!

  8. eeeh! what did he use to get down to boarding at the Lusaka Airstrip for him not to know how escalators work.Ama steps? At least that is one place in Zambia where I have seen escalators

  9. i grew up with him…that is dickisony jere….mwatusebanya…….. we only have one escalator in zambia….vachizungu. this guy is a total moron. and these are the kinds of people that are running the country. lol awe sure…zambia never a dull moment

  10. Why would you people blame RB for his aide’s fall on the escalator? And why eve enze ku kwela mu reverse pa va chizungu? And did you really expect RB to rush and give the man a hand when he fell? What is protocal? And anyway, did you not see the majestic walk that RB exhibited. Vut the man some slack and give him some credit as well!!

  11. My brothers and sisters may the Lord bless you this weekend, you and yours. Do not forget to repent and honour him aswell because we are all sinners. Also teach your children those that are parents; as for the young learn and seek wisdom so as you honour your parents, this is how we grew up on Zambia. Wisdom shall keep you safe and bring you great rewards. Let us enjoy this bit of comedy once more.

  12. #26 Iwe chi Lusaka. You call marching majestic walk? No wonder baleponena! As I said, despite all this, our president got no mention. CNN thought he was a body guard!

  13. BUT WE MUSEBANYA ULAKULA, UKUYASEBANAFYE KWANABENE. ANY WAY WHAT DO YOU EXPECT. I DONT THINK ITS BECOZ THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ON AN ESCALATER. MAYBE IT WAS PANIC. I KNOW LIPIYA HAS BEEN ON ESCALATERS SEVERAL TIMES WITH HIS MINIONS BUT SOMETIMES EVEN US WHO USE ESCALATORS DAILY ONE HAS TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING IT. EITHER GOING IN THE TUBE OR OUT, IN SHOPS ETC. CARE HAS TO BE TAKEN. BUT SINCE THE MAN IS A PRESIDENT WE EXPECT EXTRA CAUTION.

  14. No. 30 MWANAWAKWITU Am impressed by your wise words,i thought your brains were covered with mari***j*****na,keep it up have a great weekend.

  15. Magicroundabout

Nakukanila ndeo. Ni weekend leka nichite celebrate without bad blood from you. Am a balanced person and do not let my personal things cloud sensibility. You have an inherent dislike for RB and you take any and every opportunity to badmouth the man without even stopping for a second to thing. What does it matter if RB is marching or walking majestically? Is that what caused Dixson or whoever-it-is to get on the escalator backwards and fall?

  16. This is really funny. Its not the press aide D jere. It would really funnny if that was mulongoti. or maybe Kunda. ha ha ha ha ha ha

  17. exposure is very important in life he went wrongway on a escalator, wemusebanya ulakula. Anyway i like Gadaffi’s notes and his speech, kwaba amashilu mucalo.

  18. Basitebenya ku ulaya, kaili ku zed kapena siama kwela bi escalators no wonder he went in the wrong way, bamubweze before he does more

  19. Ituma rehesals pa Lusaka Airport before depature could have helped a lot. These guys should be going at least 5 hours before depature so that they can do some rehesals pa Lusaka Airport since thats the only place to find escalators pa Z, unless Iam stranger to Z life.

  20. oh my God……sorry to see that our man fell in that manner.infact i watched it on CNN.that is Mr.Kaonga from state house. He is a well seasoned man and has travelled a lot with former presidents.Infact he was the one shown in the papers at one time guarding the late Levy’s cascket in Paris.I am sad ba Kaonga.you are such a very humble man and dedicated for duty.

  21. Was he drunk? I could figure out how he could not see the escalator moving in the other direction. Yangu tata wee!! Manje ba RB, iyo kwena, that is the story in New York now.

  22. Please we have these things even at lusaka international airport ,I have watched this vedio twice what is evident is that ; when the president move forward other shushu always keep on checking backward .but unfortunately THE GUY did not notice that he was coming to the end of that escalator , and so to me this was just un accident not that we have never seen those escalators before .FOR YOUR INFORMATION WE HAD THE FIRST ONE AT MWAISEN HERE IN LUSAKA ALTHOUGH THAT TIME I WAS IN GRADE 5.

  23. Peace Maker, th UN building is secure enough for a trained shushushu to get on an escalator backwards. we dont have these things in Zambia, we have an old escalator at the airport (Airstrip) in Lusaka, this guy was either too excited, too scared or just temporarily insane…..bufontini fye

  24. PEACE MAKER checking backwards for what reason there was 1000% security from world wide shushushu.who can take on RB, what benefit outer there.

  25. i have no idea why he was facing backwards, no one on the planet would try to attack the president RB , unless the monkey @ statehouse, which has been sent by the late great one my President LP Mwanawasa, to dismantal RB .
    Villagers !!!!(- _-)

  26. Now, what has all this got to do with RB? Zambians are embarrassing themselves all over the world. Drug trafficking, consipiracy to murder, sexual harrassment and rape, Al qaeda operatives… the list goes on.

  27. I got this from LT

September 25, 2009 at 1:59 pmNow, what has all this got to do with RB? Zambians are embarrassing themselves all over the world. Drug trafficking, consipiracy to murder, ***ual (seksho) harrassment and ****9 (r.a.p.e.), Al qaeda operatives… the list goes on.
What is going on at LT where the English language is being attenuated! ‘To the impure, all things are impure.’

  28. Oh yes we had escalators at Mwaisen stores on Cairo road. How can we only have them at teh airport now. So most zambians have never seen or used them. Please let us develop our nation. This is embarrassing – we do not have escalators anywhere in Zambia except at Lusaka Intl airport!

Well Chipata will be a city soon. may be they will have some. LOL.

  29. Ubututu! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. the guy is Dickson Jere (the press aid). I think he was looking out for his mate economic advisor Richard Dr Chembe if he had climbed the chikwepe…hehehehe

  31. RB is appearing on world news for all the wrong reasons, monkeys, escalators. Cant imagine the lunatic that goes on when the media is not there!

  32. I find it hard to see what the embarrasment is all about! How cAn u be so malicious? Obviously the behaviour of Gaddafi is so embarrasimng yet all u can focus on is someone who accidentally fell. Be objective!

  33. #82. jm. do you call that as an accident when someone decideds to face in wrong direction, while his friend are facing in right direction???

  34. # 82 JM There is no need to get fuss about this. The guy fail not by accident or someone pushing him, but because that is how Zambia is. Failing and falling is now part of life. How on earth does a normal person face the other direction on escalators? Even a 2 year old kid knows that. There is no excuse for that. IT IS PURE UKUTUMPA and can only be done by a pea brain Zambian delegate at the UN. Even the speech by the President was full of nothing. Reminiscent of who we are and how shallow the leadership is. If he dosed of during session, we can excuse him for jet lag, falling on escalator is purely his fault. Did this guy think he was in the elevator? If you are not embarrassed, sorry, we are.

  35. Sadly it wasn’t RB who fell, it was going to be hilarious. Next time trick him to ride the escalator facing backwards like that security joker we see how fit he is.

  36. #82, accidents do not happen they are caused. This is not an accident. This man was trying to show off that he is the most intelligent person when not. Ankala pa simbi ya kupya.

  37. mwebo twasebana. Ala balebacitako orient. before tabalaya kufyalo. Fyonse tusambililafye, nabobene tetibatemwe ukuwa. chansoni sana hope abali ku mushi bakabatalako nangufye pa SA

  38. Hey fellow bloggers, i have just received some intelligence from a reliable source in Zambia. my source says that joker is actually our own ci Senior Citizen. There you have it you now know who Senior Citizen is and how he looks like.

  39. MMD circus goes to New York! mwebantu who gets on an elevator facing the wrong direction. Not even my 2yr old kid can do such a dumb thing. The clown has really cracked my ribs however. Please put more escalators in Zambia so our “dignified” leaders don’t embarass us.

  40. is this one of the reasons they sent back ZANIS paparazi…….are they going to ban CNN, awe kwena kusebana eee nyama soya just resign.

  41. And ka lipozi ka ba president as if he was coming from a rat hole. That pose of a person from a vilage ati bambone. Awe kwena you have a joker for a president. I THINK THAT IS A NEW INVETED POSE FROM EASTERN PROVINCE.

  42. That’s not D1ckson Jere. That’s one of the President’s top security personell. I don’t know his name but its definitely not D1ckson.

  43. That’s not D|ckson Jere. That’s one of the President’s top security personell. I don’t know his name but its definitely not D|ckson.

  44. zambianwatchdog says th man’s name is Mr Kaonga. He is the Commissioner of Police at state house. He was Levy’s bodyguard. So there you have it bloggers. Now you can stop your nonsense of trying to turn this into a circus. Enjoy your Friday of drinking.

  45. zamb|anwatchd0g says the man’s name is Mr Kaonga. He is the Commissioner of Police at state house. He was Levy’s bodyguard. So there you have it bloggers. Now you can stop your nonsense of trying to turn this into a circus. Enjoy your Friday of drinking.

  46. HA HA HA HA I THIN I’VE CRACKED A RIB….THIS IS NOT FOR REAL. ALA KANSHI CHALI SHANI UBU BWAFYA.
I HAVE WATCHED THIS OVER AND OVER AND I JUST CAN’T STOP LAUGHING…THE HOUR

  47. Dodo there is no excuse for this. Say whatever you want but really this is hilarious! May be excalators in Zambia take you to haven. I doubt this man knew the do come to an end at some point. We do not have “many” in Zambia do we?

  48. Typo there bane. I think I was going forward mwanamayo like our Zambian friend here. The man hails from Luapula. Akalimbushya says someone from behind shouted forward bane, that`s how come our friend turned round and was facing the wrong way. He thought nipa chikwepe!

  49. #113 please read the comment by #57.for sure he is mr.kaonga.hope he wont get fired when he gets home because RB is something else.but since he is from the east…..wwko ni wako syndrome

  50. Pliz forgive the faka. The last escalators pa zed was in mwaiseni shops which demised. He thot of showing off that he can go up without watching while watching back. He must have been beckoning to his friend on the lower level that he can still go up while looking backwards. Possibly, he was trying to explain to his friend how the escators work.

  51. Yaba Mama, tata We. This is what happens when illiterate men are chosen to represent the nation. That is sure an embarrassment to RB and to ZED. Its good that RB’s name was not mentioned. At least for now many don’t know which country he came from. but holywood will make some money out of him with it’s cartoon films. am sure the simpsons have seen it.

  52. Off Topic bane. Off topic bane. “The developments in Chiluba’s case have sent very confused messages to the donor community. We [Britain] give Zambia about US $60 million each year in direct budgetary support, and we have to be accountable to the British taxpayers because they are the owners of this money,” High Commissioner Carter said. “We need to ensure that the money that we give to Zambia is being spent correctly.”

High Commissioner Carter said Zambia’s corruption fight should not just be in words and declarations, but be matched with action.

  53. Tom you have questions to answer. I am not British but I need to know how these people spend the $60million I contribute to. I bet the British will not be happy!

  54. Back to the topic. EVEN ME IT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS GETTING INTO THE UN BUILDINDS. THE SECRET IS THAT U SHOULD NOT WEAR STINKING SHOES

  55. In 1963,a simmilar incident happened in UK when one zambian high prifile deligation was invited by the QUEEN. Due to the prevailing political situation that time, our deligation decided to go to UK dressed in a zambian summer wear when it was winder in UK. BBC captured the best pictures of the year showing the zambians protecting themselves from snow with any thing that can be picked from the ground. Tears and mucus covered their freezing faces and hands. Iam sure an award was given but the QUEEN intervined.AGAIN 2009 SOME SIMMILAR SITUATIONS HAVE OCCURED anyway we are good at that…

  56. I dont find this as embarassing as i find it funny. Next time the guy will learn never to defy the laws of physics. thanks for the entertainment lets have more of this stuff. monkey biz, escalator slip, etc

  57. OMG,this clip was just shown on Live TV a few mins ago.I mean how embarassing can it get.It was on the net & now on TV.This man has become an instant laughing stock.Ubufontini too much.

  58. Ba LT why is my comment waiting modeation.I didnt use any curse words. All i wrote is that the clip was shown on live TV a few mins ago.It was on the net and now on TV.This man has become an instant laughing stock.Ubufontini too much. What is “moderatable” about that.Mulebako serious bane.

  59. Interesting pictures of President RB’s visit in Swaziland groups dot yahoo dot com/group/uszambians/attachments/folder/1906645345/item/763180425/view

  60. Kekekekekekeke…. Too bad though. But I don’t think it’s cause he has never been on an escalator, just being over zealous about his job and all. It can happen to the best of us.

  61. Top security idi****ot for RB. What a clown! Even the way Nyama Soya was walking, yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
