Zambia on Saturday shot to the top of Group A on the opening day of action at the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Nairobi after beating host Kenya 2-0.
The two sides were locked at 0-0 into the break until Zambia scored two late goals late into the second half.
Zambia striker James Chamanga scored his 4th and 5th international goals in a space of seven days with goals in the 88th and two minutes into extra time after the 90th minute.
Chamanga brace comes on the back of a hat trick he scored on November 21 in a 4-1 win over North Korea in Lusaka.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia and Djibouti face off in their opening Group A match on Sunday.
And Zambia face Ethiopia in their second match on Wednesday.
Congrats Chipolopolo! Chamanga is the answer to our recent goal drought..
we ll be winning with the coach’s selection of players not kalusha’s selection of players. congrates chipolopolo and all the best.
we ll be winning with the coach’s selection of players, not kalu’s selection of players. congrates chipolopolo and all the best.
Lets go hammer all of them little teams.
Who told you that Zambia was in a goal drought the reason Zambia has not be scoring is ALL the strikers spend 90 min defending instead of scoring because our defenders are whack when we play the big and strong nations. And now that we are playing simple countries we are able to score because our defenders can mange their useless strikers and if you think you will start scoring more goals ohh then think again coz we are heading down
Means nothing after all!!!!!!!!! good teams qualify to the World Cup.
The game was a long yorn. But thanks for the victory
Nothing to celebrate for
Well done, gud stuff
complaining complaining, the country is building a team. let us support the guyz. this is a good moral booster for Angola. Chamanga well done lad, Mbesuma is also trying to pick up , i think if positivity is maintained Zambia can go far
Chamanga is the serious boy,not chi Jacob Mulenga. Now bring back the wonder boy Clifford Mulenga and the sons to Charles Mulenga.
FAZ should explain why they did not use Chamanga during the world cup qualifiers. The player has proved his excellency in the 2 games for Zambia. Let us stop “nchekelako” on player selection!!!
Ba Mwamba Bowa, bakaamba you need to encourage players not insult them. players go thru dips sometimes. Look at Anelka, he was finished at some point, but with support structure in place he is back in the French team. dont force those Charles musonda’s kids to play if they dont want to, lets do with what we have. i have watched the boys here in SA such as musonda, clifford, mbesuma i see no reason why we cant be the best. we just need coordination and inspiration, the talent is there
The problem in zambia is that,,, you drink too much beer with your players..!!!!! they also smoke alot..!! this is the reason you failed to qualify for the world cup…!!!!! goood day gutss!!!!
Congrats abena Zed..! Be positive guys……..
well done guys.GO gogogogogogogogogogogogog zambia and lift the kama small cup…….
Good job we needed that and by the way Kenya is no push over ….ask Nigeria!!
Most of you guys are pesmists. You have even infected our players with such pesmism thats why they often lack the winning mentality. The Boys wacked North Korea (world cup Material) you could not acknowledge their victory. Now they wacked Kenya (in their backyard) who were ladded with stars that have given nigeria a tough time. You still cant give praise where its due? Everybody else outthere is scared of meeting Chipolopolo …. I liked the positive comments on last week’s “Soccer Africa” show.
Goooooooh Boys Gooooooo!!!!!! Tell them in Angola that we shall be different this time around.
#16 you right man. Why should we always be negative about our boys? We should encourage them so they perform even better. Me its iyee iyee chipolopolo. Good work done boys… keep it up.
No doubt Chamanga is a force striker Zambia have at the moment, in each game he plays he looks to be different from others. In last Africa cup he gave us a boost by score in the opening game against Sudan in less than times from the kick off time, and he has continued to prove that atleast is able to see the goal post.
. #2 ddds says….
You didn’t read his comment after the match on BBC news. The Zam coach’s said that the trophy is not theirs = No confidence of winning it. Such comments are questionable. Is he serious in performing his duties???
Good result. I can only hope that the FAZ administration can focus on preparing the team and leave the coach alone. How about we concentrate on getting a new kit which can boost morale? How can Kalu and his friends honestly look at the national team in that green low quality kit and be proud that they are representing us?
Nalelo ye Ba NKANA BWELA
Its good that our boys are scoring now keep it up guys lets take the same spirit to the Africa cup and surprise the likes of Cameroun who am sure celebrated after being drawn in the same group with us because of the 5 – 0 bashing we suffered at their hands.
why didn;t the bringCharles Musonda;s children for the under 20 tornament.
