President Rupiah Banda says the fight against corruption is top of his government’s agenda.
Mr Banda says it is line with this that his administration has put in place measures against graft which includes the establishment of the National Anti Corruption Policy (NACP).
He explained that there is need for all Zambians to support the policy in bringing down the levels of corruption in the country.
Mr Banda said since the formation of the policy, a number of Integrity committees have been set up in 13 ministries and government departments with a view of creating awareness and fighting graft.
The President also indicated that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Education ministry have come up with a pilot project in educating students at tertiary education level on corruption.
He said the pilot project will later be introduced in the ordinary education curricular in schools from pre- school to secondary school levels.
Mr Banda said his government was also targeting the traditional rulers in the fight against graft to further create awareness of corruption fight at grass root level.
Apart from these achievements, Mr Banda also said his administration has put in place an umbrella code of ethics against corruption at ministerial and department level.
The President said this in his national address on both radio and television this evening to commemorate the World International Anti Corruption Day which falls every 9th December.
He said corruption was a deterrent to national development as it drains resources in areas such as health, Agriculture and breeding inequality, among others.
ZANIS
First thing i want to say is that am first to call Chiluba corrupt.
Mr RB PLS deal with zamtel, oil deal, london judgement, ftj apeal out of time then we ll know you are serious
OH! You fool! – seeing a speck in someone’s eye when you have a mukwa log in your own eyes. It is said that every time a politician opens his mouth, he lies. Well, here is a good example. How can we the people take this crap? Year in, year out, it is the same sh**t and we like it. Change cannot come from a politician; change comes from within the individuals. Remember, be the change that you want to see. If you want to make a difference, it is 1 person at a time. It is foolish to think that you can change a nation; Of course people fell for conmen like Obama (rhymes with Osama) and forgot that the change they want already exist within them. All they need is the willpower to actualise it. “Greater is what is within you than what is in the world” or words to that effect. So RB p*** off!
I didnt know that RB has a sense of humor. This is a big time joke. Please let other people talk about fighting corruption not soem of you…You reallyu do not mean it
RB watever you are called. Stop fooling around!!!!!!!!!
Mr Banda, you are president and must always remember to be sincere with yourself before you open your mouth. You take Zambians too much for granted and think we don’t know your corrupt activities.
MMD,FIGHTING CORRUPTION? AM I DREAMING?
Actions speak louder than words. RB friendly to FTJ who was convicted in London court of corrupt acts. The other day (independence day?) we saw RB with convict Samuel Musonda enjoying our money at a state function – they were even sharing jokes! This to me is the height of being fooled!
