Zanaco’s speedy winger Allan Mukuka has been recalled to replace striker James Chamanga at the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup tournament in Kenya.
Mukuka is expected to fly out Friday evening in time for Zambia’s quarterfinal match on Monday.
Chamanga returned back to his Chinese base at Dalian Haichang on Friday for pre-season training.
This is after inspiring Zambia with three goals in 2-0 and 1-0 wins over Kenya and Ethiopia respectively in the teams last two Group A matches.
Meanwhile, Zambia finished top of Group A with a 6-0 demolition of Djibouti on Friday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
A hat trick from City of Lusaka forward Kennedy Chola handed Zambia an easy win over Djibouti who have failed to win a single match, or score a goal, at this year’s tournament.
Chola scored in the 3rd 49th and 85th minutes.
Zambia were 2-0 up in the first half with striker Felix Sunzu scoring his sides second on 31 minutes while Zanaco defender Charles Siyingwa helped himself to a brace in the 65th and 80th minutes.
Herve Renard’s side await tomorrow to know whom they face in Mondays last eight tie.
Good guys, those are goals which you should have scored in the CAF -qualifier. Boys wake up . Iyeee iyee Chipolopoloooooo!!!!!!
I wish this is how they performed in the World Cup qualifiers!!! Anyway we are now used. Congrats boys!
If Herve is using this tournament as a dress rehearsal for CAN Angola that is good. The boys are doing well in that they haven’t conceded a goal but have scored. Has Herve found the formula? I am yet to be convinced because I think the boys are not being tested by the poor competition. However, congratulations
Too little too late. Who cares about Djibouti or a bogus tournament called “CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup”? We are Zambia and must compete at Africa Cup & World Cup level. Sorry guys I just care less about doing things the opposite way. Beat Eritrea 10-0 in the final…LOL…punks ….
Ya! this is the Chipolopolo of yesteryear s! go boys, go….
Well done guys. Prepare for Angola and try to win it. Its all about team work
I suppose it is all part of the preparation for CAN 2010.
zambia crush to get crushed.
this is too simple a tournament, its like MAN U vs Chawama United in the Christmas tournament held at chawama catholic church grounds….come on guys you need real competition
Dont worry guys, they’re just warming up for the 2014 World Cup qualifications…
1 step at a time, you pipo. we are building a team. if we keep the momentum. we may just surprise a team or two at CAN 2010. remember Angola is 30 days away.
THe 2010 draw has been made.
I wonder why CAN is played during rain season. Can anyone explain?
Kanjimaano, its rainy season only to those countries in the southern Hemisphere and not everywhere. So whatever season you may prefer it may prfer other countries will still ask the question you are asking. Africa is such a vast continent.
Give respect were its due? the problem with some of you chaps is, YOU complain alot!!! quit the complaining and commend people when they do something good…. GO Zambia go! we willl get there… commitment and its what we have so far seen in our coach and the team….
Who says CAN IS ALWAYS PLAED IN THE RAIN SEASON? THIS IS THE SAME AS LOOKING FOR UCZ IN TUNISIA? WHAT WOULD A TUNISIAN SAY ABOUT CAN RAIN OR DRY SEAN?
Kanjimaano ULIIKOPO SANA MUCALO MUNO
DJIBUTI????
# 9 HAS SAID THE TRUTH. This Cecafa tournament is not even on Fifa’s calendar
Beating Djibuti shouldn’t make headlines. I bet a makeshift team of LT blogeers can beat then Djitutians.
At last we are seeing goals keep it up boyz
Congrats Zambia and keep up with the momentum. I enjoyed this game live at Nyayo stadium. As long as im in Nairobi, i wont miss any for you have made not us in the Kenyan diaspora proud but your home country too. Move on and continue scoring goals.
Thats the way forward……….looking ahead on hat is goin2 happen there in Angola. By the way, never @ once thought Angola was gonna host CAN before Zambia.
Congrats guys my prayer is that the same way you are scoring at this Cecafa tournament is the same way you will be scoring at AFCON in Angola.
Tu ma chocholi twashabe, why robbing us chamanga at this time.
Mwandi chimanibaba baaaad. And yesterday watching the FIFA SWC draws. Eeeeeeish!!!! Who says Zambia can’t be there!!!!! Yaba. And I pray we dont crush out in the first round in Angola. YABA IN ADVANCE.
amalabishi, who cares about winning the so called CECAFA senior challenge cup.The coach should be remainded that he need not to celebrate easy victories in football.I mean, look at the teams we are playing with, there are even no where on FIFA ranking, simply because their of football is very low.He was recruited to qualify us to the world cup and not to the bogus CECAFA CUP.AMALABISHI YEKA YEKA.
True that….the French man shudn´t take Zedians for a simple ride. This CECAFA whatever is nothing compared to the world cup he failed to take us. Infact, facts are that we never made it through hard to be in CECAFA as we just got an invitation to participate so what tha joy allover?
# 17, FIFA is just abreviations. so is CECAFA. what is important is the mins set that you are a winning team. that psychology my friend can move a mountain. As long as the boys are jellying and are winning the confidence levels are rising. What makes you think we reached finals in 94, it was the self belief and thats what is needed for our team. remember its not how mant times you fall but how quickly you pick your self up.
well said no 26, equally important is football administration and in my following the boys over the years that has been the main problem. they have skill but training, team selection, marketing to bigger leagues and the destruction of the local league has been our downfall. That 1994 team was mainly local players even those who died. I say well done Chipolopolo!!
after watching the FIFA draws last nite i could not help to wonder how many years far behind is Zambia. i could not belive that a country 1000 km away is so advanced yet we are 1000 years behind.
No. 28 We did not have the same source of plentiful cheap African labour that they did for 50 year before independence. That said our current leaders have no clue what they should be doing for the economy while they are in power.
who the hell is djobuti,Zambia plse
come on Zambia,if you beat Angola,or Togo 6-0 I can say you are getting somewhere not that funny djibouti country i have neva heard, which part of africa are they from???
Its good the chaps are now scoring. But I would have loved to see how the goals were scored for me to make a better assessment. Coz some goals are just gifts from the defence of the other team.
For now, I say congrats and do the same in Angola next month.
give credit were its due, you are the same chaps who look down upon your children wen they come out no.1 in grade 1 saying its a lower grade unless they pass grade 7 not knowing that thats were he is heading to. so the best is to say congrates zambia and looking foward to AFCON 2010.
ZAMBIA OUT OF CESAFA CUP WENT DOWN ON THE HANDS OF ZANZIBAR ON POST MATCH SPOTS.
WHERE ARE WE GOING AND IN ZAMBIA IT SEEMS EVERY THING IS ON TRIAL AND ERA BASIS.
ENOCH SAKALA IS A FINISHED CHAP WHY USE HIM.
