President Rupiah Banda has assured people in the country that he will continue to be tough and serve them to the best of his ability.
President Banda said there is no need for people to worry about his critics because he is braced for more hard work next year.
The President was speaking on arrival at Mfuwe International Airport this afternoon.
Mr. Banda is in the area for his Christmas Holiday.
The President stated that during his holiday, he would commission some developmental projects in Chipata before the end of the year.
President Banda also stated that he would take some time to visit some villages in Mambwe to understand and appreciate the living conditions of the people in the district.
Mr. Banda, who was accompanied by First Lady, Thandiwe, was received by Eastern Province Minister, Isaac Banda, Provincial Permanent Secretary, Eularia Syamujaye, Provincial MMD chairperson, Kennedy Zulu, and other top government MMD officials.
Others on the entourage include Tourism Minister, Catherine Namugala, Mines Minister and Mambwe Member of Parliament Maxwell Mwale, Local Government Minister, Eustacio Kazonga and other Cabinet Ministers.
Speaking earlier, Eastern Province Minister, Isaac Banda, informed the president, that the province has continued to benefit from his leadership through infrastructural development.
He cited education, health, roads and agriculture as some of the sectors which have seen tremendous development in the region.
Mr. Banda stated that it is for this reason that people in the region have continued to rally behind President Banda.
And MMD Provincial Chairperson, Kennedy Zulu, said President Banda has put his critics to shame by pulling the country through the global economic crisis.
Mr. Zulu assured the President of a hundred percent vote at the impending party convention.
He said the party in the province will continue to rally behind his leadership because he has proved that he is a hard worker by initiating developmental projects throughout the country.
ZANIS
Mr president , No one cares whther you are tough or not. We only care about one thing. Just leave and go back to Chipata
Are all these retards in his so called delegation all camped at Mfuwe? Who is paying for their stay? This is bizarre!!! Come Zambians, wake up and stop this wastage of resources…
The Post shows a picture of the Presidents family en route to Mfuwe…Are they also in Mfuwe or its a fake
Be tough, you need that but just remember you are leading a nation striving to attain some form of democratic balance and not a small holding in Chipata.
”Others on the entourage include Tourism Minister, Catherine Namugala, Mines Minister and Mambwe Member of Parliament Maxwell Mwale, Local Government Minister, Eustacio Kazonga and other Cabinet Ministers”. Quote. Who are the other Cabinet Ministers?? All having free meals at Mfuwe? Is the entire Cabinet on holiday?? Is this hard work or playing tough or rather being stubborn or pompous??
mmmmh ka Catherine nako takashala ukwaya RB, Thandie keep an eye on your man!
By the way,is Mfuwe lodge where our presidents go open to the public?I’ll be in zambia soon so I also want to take my own 1st lady there!
The presidential retreat is a well deserved one as RB has continued to show leadership and maturity in the handling of critical matters of national interest. Unlike some uncoulth opposition leaders who feed on daily insults and unpalatable language in league with some clearly biased tabloid, RB has been magnanimous in dealing with matters of the state putting national interest before self. Enjoy your holiday, Mr President as you plan for the difficult year ahead.
Thandiwe nawama sana so mwacitafye bwino biggy to take her ku Mfuwe for xmas.
If he is on holiday why this large entourage of Ministers? Are they also on holiday at Mfuwe paid for by the tax payers. Are they supposed to be on holiday with their families too (hopefully with expenses paid from the hefty salaries we pay them). On family holiday but half of the cabinet follows. Nothing makes sense in Zambia!
Well where in the world doesnt a President go on rereat with delegation? It is expected that A president will go on holiday and will be accompanied by members of his Executive whatever you think of them. It goes with the Office.. Though I can think of two former leaders who tried to live a very humble life Ghandi and Nyerere. Both are still loved by their citzens though the latter is attributed with destroying his countries econmy
Chief Kabulwebulwe at #1 &4, You are spot on and I support your views strongly.
Bootlickers like Zulu who dream that his master will get 100% votes at the convention need to be referred to a psychritist for check up. RB made a similar claim that he got 100% votes in NW Province after the presidential bye election. Do they really understand percentages?
You guys are so ignorant of the way government works. The ministers are there because it is a working visit first then holiday. He is officiating in Chipata then he will be on holiday. also he will use the time to catch up on issues and hold a cabinet meeting while he is out there away from lusaka. most of the ministers will return to lusaka before xmas day.
Christmas time is family time not Rupiah time. Me and Kaunda never used to run things like this. Why all these people at Mfuwe?
This nation needs to indeed tough coz most Zambians are lazy more especially those in the civil service who also have become to ma agents of PFFFFF.most of these to ma felors need to be transfered from the key positions to development. We were voted and given the mandate to implement the MMD manifesto and not the PFFFFFFFFFFF technocrats civil servants.Thats why they must continue to be servants of MMD in Government.RB Just Keep it.
Good Evening
Everyone needs to rest and in this respect, I wish the president a jolly festive season. He really needs to toughen up and to bone up for next year’s challenges. God bless our nation.
He is very entitled to a holiday and some rest. The people who always talk about tax payer’s money amaze me. Who does not pay tax? Then, every employee of the state including the President is paid from taxpayer’s money. He is HEAD of State. This is a job that one is NEVER on holiday from. You and I can go home and leave work at the office, the President does not. You may be self employed yes, but his leadership creates that conducive environment in which you can make money. Some worry about his travelling. Try it and see how tiring it is. Whether in Lusaka or Shangombo, Zambia or Japan, the President is ALWAYS working! So, stop being silly people, and grow up!
Dr Kaunda took his holidays in Mfuwe and Shambalakale. Dr Chiluba was always in Ndola’s Kansenshi (or somewhere else :)!). Dr Mwanawasa went to Mfuwe or Teka Farm in Ndola. RB is selling Zambia’s tourism. This is good.
#2 Tiger Woods.. How could it be fabricated? Where have you boarded a plane in Lusaka whether City Airport or International Airport whi ZAF officers all over the place? most likely was ZAF base (City airport)
Looks his age and quite tired. African leaders are still of the old generation with the same old habits of personality cult and an entourage wherever they go.
RB is NOT entitled to a holiday because he has not done anything right in my view. He is one of the worst leaders as he continues to peddle tribalistic appointments, keeps thugs like Mulongoti as long they obey his dull commands and spends like he has known how a balance sheet works and to me he is just a waste of space and time.
#16, please stop calling FTJ Kafupi as Dr. Chiluba because he never studied for a doctorate and is NOT and will NEVER be a DOCTORAL candidate. He is still too illiterare to command that title. Respect those that studied and obtained these accolades on merit. I give KK a special place on this because of what he honestly did for Zambia and NOT FTJ Kafupi, no ways!!!
the most exiting days to be in zambia where when DR. CHILUBA ruled zambia;; it was like coming out of prison where you have been for 27years.. nearly everything changed in the first 5yrs for the better , no lines for saladi ,ubunga ,minibuses ,travelling became so easy ,.lots and lots of things just changed just imagine he left zambians with houses as their own.. I will never forget him. KAUNDA ,MWANAWASA, BANDA I will easily forget not FTJ,
Those without family unity, love and reunion experience, they are always hurt and jealous to see strong and harmonious families.Get over it and accept that others have an enduring culture of staying united.Don’t get burnt out with work every vocation has provision for retreat and renewal.Busy people like RB deserve a family reunion and restoration.Vacation is part of his service pact.its because of growing in denial that you have broken homes, bitter spirits and failed lives but with lives that evolve around insults and vanity.Change this season for better.Presidents are very busy such that they don’t get to see some of their own family members and this is the time.
The head of state can be in Mfuwe, but all engines of the state are fully operational.Leaders who fail breaking off from work or travel in their tenure, are insecure and tyrannies.Every time RB is out of office, he delegates his executive powers and instruments of power to his subordinates a testimony that he is a practical free minded democratic team playing statesman. If you are in a job without vacation incentives, you need to realign your life for better things.
I am not a big fan of the man and his ways, that is my constitutional right for those of you name callers out there. Having said that, the president needs his advisors everywhere he goes. One can argue about whether or not he deserves a vacation but that is another debate. I think the president can and should take all the local travel he can (hopefully was budgeted for). I think it is important for the president to be on the ground all over the country. Maybe if he meets enough suffering citizens, it will change his perspective … and I know there is a lot of hungry people near Mfuwe.
Yaba this old man!!!!!!!!!! This when he is thinking of being tough? You are very old to be tough. Just go back to your farm and drink your thobwa. Palipo navautafu apa. Can a tough man fear to be challenged at a convention? RB you are a coward. You are not tough unless you realise that you are weak. Those who claim to be tough are those who don’t trust their strength.
I have never known Rabbid Banda to get tough. I have no seen that. If he gets tough ku-chipinda thats his issues. This man will never ever get tough at all. Never! Ni fwapa uyu muntu!
cant wait for this man to leave office. its sad that there are no sensible replacements for him
2009 MMD CHRISTMAS PARTY IS AT MFUWE. OBAMA SAID HE WILL NOT GO TO HAWAII UNTIL THE HEALTH BILL GOES THROUGH, THATS A REAL MAN RIGHT THERE.
I don’t know why Rubbiah had to take all his Goats to Mfuwe and infact he left one of his Goats, Veteran.
Mr. president..you need to soften your toughness on f..ing people s young girls.. get tough????? you surely a disgrace!!!!!!!
mr president you are not tough..where is the toughness?
## 32. Sichi powerz!!!! have you jumped ship now?? welcome on our side!
banda will go to jail after his term. his wife will follow suit for having stolen Govt money as a Ghost Worker. If he wants to be tough? he must pay back all the money his wife stole with interest. he is tough on the poor people and very soft on corruption and tribalism. I see this man as a big LIAR with very few morals. Having him in office has just belittled that office.
#33 I call a spade a spade, it just is what it is..
PHUCK OBAMA. rb DESERVES TO REST. TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVENT SEEN THE CEVELOPMENT, MIGRATE. TO ALL OF YOU IN THE DIASPORA WHO JUS BLOG NEGATIVITY, I HOPE YOU DROWN IN CREDIT AND GET DEPORTED. ZAMBIA IS OURS. GIVE SOLUTIONS. NOT NEGATIVE COMMENTS . SILLY USELESS MONKEYS.MERRY XMAS RB. GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY!!!!
PHUCK OBAMA. rb DESERVES TO REST. TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVENT SEEN THE DEVELOPMENT, MIGRATE. TO ALL OF YOU IN THE DIASPORA WHO JUS BLOG NEGATIVITY, I HOPE YOU DROWN IN CREDIT AND GET DEPORTED. ZAMBIA IS OURS. GIVE SOLUTIONS. NOT NEGATIVE COMMENTS . SILLY USELESS MONKEYS.MERRY XMAS RB. GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY!!!!
viva hopelessness. i realised that some people will vote for ***** to remove a fool. Sata is a quack. i had so much faith in HH. but we need change. cant a new party with dedicated zambians emerge? sadly u bloggers are not helping, just commenting and expressing ignorance. can anybody name 4 credible ministers from PF? i mean, their members of parliament are hopeless. except lubinda and guy scott. the rest are pure kaponyas. UPND has better individuals. MMD has mutati and a couple good ones. i wish things were different. but i know that we need change.
#36 and #37 You’re a piece of S.H.I.T
You guys are looking for 4 credible people in PF? How about giving us 1 only in your family? Probably 0 will be provided. So, stop the crap. If accepting nonsense is your daily bread, it is not for everyone. The other knuckle head thinks people can be deported due to credit. That is ignorance at its best.
Surely the President deserves a vacation. Anybody in that office will be worn down and respite is always in order. At least he did not decide to head to Durban, Nigeria, or Kenya (LOL) for such. Whatever money he spends at Mfuwe stays in Zambia.
Nonetheless, to have almost half his cabinet with him is something else. I gues having “YES BWANA, YES BWANAS” around you all the time is an African leadership trait, yah?!
## 36 &37.. you are surely a piece of dog shyti.. Finish up your zambia sooner because we having our real Zambia in 2011. And we gona bring real development because we don’t need to be travelling all over, Mfuwe and all them places. We did our travels already. we just going to sit our ass down and work for the people of Zambia. chikalachobe!!!!
RB has calamity written all over his face.Hope he has not paid his friend $6 million. What a joke of a president.RB please take yours family to your birth place , Zimbabwe on one way tickets. What more evil can RB deep himself in, to warrant impeachment, Zambians wake up!!
If this is the best he has then he is useless! Just out of curiosity, did you notice how nearly 90% of his delegation, apart from Eularia Syamujaye, are all Ba Kumawa? Maybe they are going to Mfuwe to strategise on how to salvage their failure’s dwindling prospects for re-election. If they want my advise, and its free, its too late, the ship is mortally damaged and listing uncontrolably. The best they can do is save their careers by bailing out now.
Rubbish Banda , what ‘tough’ ? Your sorry-A@@ is always on vacation
Crude Yes. Tough I doubt very much. Amen
hahahahahahahaha……BOMA !
SOSA…chalu chilekumfwa….HAKASATA is still waiting for instructions from BWIJIMFUMU ROAD on what next to say,RB you set your own agenda based on mature leadership and governance.
You are TOUGH mudala….as exhibited in your high tolerance to rumour mongers. CHONGWE SAGA,ZDA SHORT LIST SAGA,etc…..time has really vindicated you….as HISTORY will !
Let them and insult for thats all they know.
Good luck MY PRESIDENT and have a MERRY XMAS and well deserved rest….2010 will bring more challenges to you,but I thank God that he gave us a leader who is mature and really holds his TEMPER.
You can only continue what you’ve started. This wa’nker never got tough in anything. Maybe pa kunya…
Mr Zulu, just enjoy the National Resources with RB, What has RB done to proove that he is a hard worker. What is his vision For the people of zambia.Yes Eastern province can vote for him becoz he comes from there.MMD with RB is dead.

Blah blah blah Mr. Presidento. Abakali tabalanda. We wish there was something more solid than porridge you have done we can talk about.
Yaahhhh Right!!!!!!! Tough on going on Holiday! 92% of Zambians are already tough on getting you out. Zambia is only unfortunate because you made yourself president. Its time for our misfortunes to go.
“And MMD Provincial Chairperson, Kennedy Zulu, said President Banda has put his critics to shame by pulling the country through the global economic crisis.”
I beg your pardon?
Luma tionesese mano!
