Resist Fear

Share

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset—rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined]…”
(I Peter 5:9, AMP)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The very moment you first feel fear, you have to resist it. You have to act against it. If you make the mistake of dwelling on your fears and start thinking about all the reasons why you can’t do what God is telling you to do, then it won’t be long before you develop a negative mindset that will keep you stuck where you are.

In the Bible, when God told David to go fight Goliath, it says that David moved quickly toward the battlefield. In other words, he didn’t think about it. He didn’t allow fear to grip his heart and talk him out of it. He just did what God wanted him to do.

So many people today are just sitting on the sidelines of life. They have tremendous potential on the inside, but they keep letting the enemy talk them out of doing what God wants them to do. Every time they get a vision of victory for their life, the enemy brings fear; and they just swallow his lies hook, line, and sinker. Don’t let that be you! Instead, obey quickly. Resist fear and boldly embrace every blessing the Lord has in store for you in 2010!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

” Father God, today I choose to resist fear. I choose Your Word. I choose Your love. I believe that with You, all things are possible. Thank You for giving me the power to live in victory in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

  1. One of the qualification for those who teach the Word of God is the ability to refute those who are in Error (Titus 1:9); but how can you refute error if you are ignorant?
Pastor Joel Osteen, can’t even distinguish Mormonism from the Historical Orthodox faith.

  2. WALLACE: And what about Mitt Romney? And I’ve got to ask you the question, because it is a question whether it should be or not in this campaign, is a Mormon a true Christian?

OSTEEN: Well, in my mind they are. Mitt Romney has said that he believes in Christ as his savior, and that’s what I believe, so, you know, I’m not the one to judge the little details of it. So I believe they are.

And so, you know, Mitt Romney seems like a man of character and integrity to me, and I don’t think he would — anything would stop me from voting for him if that’s what I felt like.

  3. WALLACE: So, for instance, when people start talking about Joseph Smith, the founder of the church, and the golden tablets in upstate New York, and God assumes the shape of a man, do you not get hung up in those theological issues?

OSTEEN: I probably don’t get hung up in them because I haven’t really studied them or thought about them. And you know, I just try to let God be the judge of that. I mean, I don’t know.

I certainly can’t say that I agree with everything that I’ve heard about it, but from what I’ve heard from Mitt, when he says that Christ is his savior, to me that’s a common bond.

  4. Chapwa that is great news you have shared to God be the glory. Our Lord God Jehovah, whose son Jesus was saved by mama Africa as a baby. Thus let us start calling for ministers we know preach God’s word. Preaching like a young Nervous Mumba before he fell to temptation. Osteen believes what? You lost zambians and Africans that have fallen for the devil controlled mormon cult, return to Jesus those people actually are racist and believe we a blessed and created people were cursed by God. My prayers for you all my family in Jesus’s name; pray for my strength aswell so as I can continue Christs work.

  5. Chapwa during the 08 election in the US you could actually tell who the real believers of God are. This shall be painful to some, but in honesty is true, when a black person finds God we really find God. We love Jesus with all we are, not compromising on him but on sins. Chapwa has given some knowledgeable comments before, thus LT please find US preachers that shall teach John 3 vs 16 from the holy bible and branch out in all manners of the goodness of the book. How shall people know that Israel was two kingdoms after Solomon died. Very idolatrous Israel in the North, and God’s principled hard working Judah in the south. Remember Judah followed Solomon and worship of Jehovah. Or the fact that Zipporah Moses’s wife was an Ethiopian sister like nchimuya, Malita or Taonga. Not the Redhead…

  6. Potrayed in the Cecil B Demile movie the ten commandments, which I know almost every Zambian household had on VHS in the mid nineties. Remember we are all sinners that fell short of the glory of God. Therefore my brethren repent always and pray without seizing; live like we did as youngsters in the eighties when tv and radio were nice, but work hard with you hands. Worship God and God alone, husbands love your wives like Christ loved the church, wives submit to your hubbies for in marriage God made both of you one. Children obey your fathers instruction and heed to your mothers teachings in this you shall find life. If scripture reference is needed for the above shared I can open my bible and add them here.
