Movement for Multy-party Democracy (MMD) National Secretary Katele Kalumba says that speculations by some people that he had intentions of standing for party presidency was completely rubbish.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Monze today, Dr Kalumba said that such speculations were totally rubbish and that he never even wanted to comment on them.

And Dr Kalumba, says the ruling party in Southern Province is still intact. Speaking in the same interview, Dr Kalumba said he had been in Mazabuka and Monze where it was reported that the lower organs of the party had been dissolved and found that there were no confusions.

The National Secretary said the party was waiting for its National Executive Committee (NEC) to make a decision on when to dissolve its lower organs in order to pave way for further electoral activities of the party.

He said that the lower organs would be dissolved to pave way to electoral activities and not because of confusions which did not exist in the party.

  1. Dr Katele, you’ll be happy to know that I am also not interested in you being President. At least it makes the two of us. If we carried out a census I think you would be pleasantly surprised, you might even discover that your wife agrees with you as well

  2. DR. Katele dot.com. Welcome after your sucessful medical holiday in India. Why are talking in toungues be brave and be counted. Dont be defensive on your presidential intentions. Dont spring a surprise at the last minute. The race to plot one is wide open.

  3. But there iz no need to rubbish the speculationz, since you are among the few level-headed MMD standing today. Maybe you should just feel greatly humbled, thank thoze doing the speculationz and then state your pozition.

  4. Bloggers read properly the message here, its not about KAKA not standing for MMD president but the dissolving of an executive without a reason. I have never about this. Any #3 has made my day

  5. kay,

You say “of course you shouldnt katele, you ve got a heart complication” Quote.

So you mean Sata surviving on an implanted metal pacesetter in his heart following his heart failure in 2007 which MMD shipped to morningside should not be President? I challenge you to make Sata angry persitently, his heart metals would collapse leading to instant death. He is a moving coffin to than any candidate on the market.

  6. Good Evening

Well played Mr. Kalumba. It is wisdom on your part to leave the battle to the big guns…who’s next to thrown in the towel?

  7. :d/ There is no confusion in the MMD but the mother of all confusion is in the crumbling pact with its thuggery and barbaric stone age lumpenism. Come 2011, the MMD will carry the day and that will be the end of Sata and kaponyas.

  8. we know now that there will be NO 50 plus 1% to allow the snake and a tonga chicken in, so MMD put your house in order,,,old madalas out,,,inject some new blood and ideas.

  9. This is an intelligent man who successfully managed to destroy his own political career because of his long fingers. Levy didn’t help matters either instead he made sure Katele’s career was over with no chance of coming back. I feel sorry for this man.

  10. We know it our national sec. the court cases have seriously injured your political aspirations on contesting as our party president. on a lighter note …wish you could use the dot.com:d/:d/

  11. Its good you have made your position known Katele. This will make you organise MMD to beyond 2011 while we await UPND and other progressive oppostion to come forth and make sure the dangerous populist in Michael Chilufya Sata is completely no near to State House to put our economy and peace in jeopardy. He(Sata) has nothing to lose cos his days are almost over while we the youths have everything to lose when his policies are implemented.

  12. @ post 15-nine chale… Straight mudala… If a country is not ready for one it does not matter how ready one is for the country…

  13. theirs something about Sata.he never speaks abt things he dosent no.
yes you might think his not the best but to us his a HERO.without him we wouldnt have known abt the ills and the miss deeds of the MMD.he should be doing something right for him to win in so many provinces.I wonder to you my zambians abroad who think his crazy and knows nothing! You speak through mails and he goes and puts his head on the chopping board, leave us alone and we shall fight our own fight with Sata, his our HERO and will always be untill we reach state house.his the best we have
