Chirwa’s not our member – MMD

Share

THE MMD has said that aeronautic engineer Clive Chirwa was not a member of the ruling party and therefore claims that he has resigned from the party are baseless.

Speaking in an interview in Lusaka yesterday, MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya said she was taken aback to hear reports that Professor Chirwa had resigned from the party claiming that the MMD leadership had lost direction.

Ms Siliya said the MMD leadership was visionary and, therefore, Prof Chirwa, who was not a member of the party was merely expressing his opinion.

In fact, she said, the visionary leadership of the party was working tirelessly to unite party members at various levels.

“I am shocked to hear Prof Chirwa’s tantrums because the man is not our member. He has never been a member of the MMD and so he does not have the right to talk about the party matters but I will assume he was expressing his opinion,” Ms Siliya said

She said if Prof Chirwa was a bonafide member of the MMD, the party would have expressed concern and worry over his resignation.

Ms Siliya said since Prof Chirwa was not a member of the MMD, the party would not be bothered by his comments and claims that he had resigned from the party.

  1. Unapologetically i say, Clive Chirwa is a counterfeit politician and his cheerleaders are a manipulatable counterfeit community without a sense of a genuine political community. They are vulnerably longing for the meaning and sense of connectedness in life which this counterfeit politician superficially presents them in rhetoric only. His candidacy offers neither webs of relationships for accountability nor the physical environment that can build a sense of a genuine connectedness, of solidarity with others, which in real sense and progressive politics is the essence of a winning political practices.

  2. Truth be told that though an engineering professor in the UK, Politically Clive Chirwa has proved the most removed political shopper from the day-to-day concerns of the average citizen despite being overzealous. Some of us have followed his automotive industrialization centered campaign message and sincerely say his politics leaves the individual alone adrifting in an often alien social and political universe.Evidently Chirwa is swung too far toward the radical individualistic pole too preoccupied with personal ambitions at variance to the social constructs prevalent and desirable.

  3. MMD is entering its 20th year democratic people’s self ruling mandate through 2011 because she has no credible self introspected issues driven opposition.MMD longs for a strong and credible opposition than could offer the checks and balancies but with regret, all that feel the void year after year are counterfeits merely thriving on insults not doing any voter conversion. After credible sagacious savvy Kambela Mazoka, Dean Mung’omba and Major Ngwawezi Kaunda, this country has been denied the blessing of a potential Government in waiting capable of carrying the mandate from MMD. It will have to take a vuluntary Generation change in 2016 for power to change hands from MMD.What we have as opposition is nothing but a futureless circus of natural rejects lining for baseless wasteful…

  4. This said, we can only wish Chirwa all the best in his political shopping splee and dream of instantly landing a Presidential slot where he can stamp up for 2011. His over amplified MMD membership and so called resignation are inconsequential and too academic to seriously zero on. We wish we had seen him in action with issues on the Ground driving national and party courses other than struggling with his internet disjoined campaign rhetoric to a “counterfeit community” the Genuine is not.

  5. John 18 vs 15 and 25. Peter denied our Lord and so has Dollar Siliar denied on Prof. Chirwa. They want a degree for Sata yet they deny their very qualified member.

  6. Prof. Chirwa said he was a member of MMD. What is Dora talking about! Is she sick or something? Just take time and analyse his speech maybe it can help MMD to fix it’s failures

  7. Dora sems to know the art of her new position very well. i never imagined she could neutralise profs ranting so easily.

  8. Dora the so called communicator is on the rampage hardly a week in her propaganda job opening her mouth carelessly. If I may ask her, Is Rupiah an MMD member or just a clever opportunist? Leave Prof Chirwa alone and concentrate on bootlicking.

  9. Dora can only bring Pussy based politics. She is a disgraced! How can she sy Prof Chirwa is not a member when the national secretary Katele Kalumba confirmed him as a member. This is the problem of using you Vagina to get to positions. shame!

  10. MMD is confusing us. Why the denial when he says it very clear in his resignation letter that he was a member? There is no democracy where there is no trusted leadership.

  11. what Dora the explorer is saying is that Dr Chirwa hasnt been “in the house” yet to sample the goods so he is not a member of the MMD. all MMD memebres have to taste her juices to be bona-fide!

  12. It is a matter of concern the Minister of education is a spokeperson for MMD. Which country in the world has their Minister of Education being the attack person to the opposition.. Does Dora Siliya not realise the Ministry of education needs all her efforts? Like the Ministery of Health She has one of the most important jobs in Zambia…. yet is not satisfied wants to be in the spot light being the attack person in MMD. Are you telling me MMD only comprises of Dora Siliya? Do you think people will listen to her education speech just after she has been attacking the part of the popln that don’t support MMD. Maybe there is not enough work in the education sector..she has reached all her targets and objectives and has enough time to speak political jargon.

  13. #11,Katele said the same that Prof Chirwa is not a member and I wondered why the Prof kept quiet without challenging him by simply quoting his membership card.I suspect the Prof was sold a gonga membership card or something.

  14. and i quote : Announcing his move to join the opposition, Professor Chirwa declared that the pact through UPND and that they will scoop all the nine provinces in next year’s general elections because it is strong enough.

  15. He said his resignation from the MMD was a great relief and opened up his route to joining Zambians who are serious about permanently moving the people out of poverty. He said based on his goals and policies for the regeneration of Zambia, he had decided to join the pact through the UPND in the struggle to liberate Zambians “from the current inert government”.

Professor Chirwa said he had a tele-conference from London on Friday with UPND president Hakainde Hichilema along with his national executive committee (NEC) members.

  16. “I opened up to them and gave them my reasons for joining their esteemed party,” Professor Chirwa said. “The UPND NEC welcomed me with open arms and the warmth they transmitted gave me great hope that at last I have joined a team that is committed to solving Zambia’s problems, a fundamental ethos of my campaign.”

  17. Professor Chirwa said his joining the UPND would materialise his ambition to see Zambia occupy a place at the high table of international society where it would dictate its future and where its people would have ample food, good schools, best hospitals, best infrastructure and an economy magnitised by industrialisation.

“That day is quickly approaching as UPND helps Zambia achieve that,” Professor Chirwa said. “The policies UPND is pursuing are right for Zambia and they are in keeping with what I have always said to my fellow Zambians in lectures, speeches and writings.

  18. Here comes the team that unsettles MMD, the team that can’t be stopped by any degree level, the team without inferiority complex, the team of men and women that meet the demands of modern day leadership. You are planning on which party to join? limited search!!! but you can never be wrong to cling to the open arm pointing forward. This is the only team that will give the Zambian people the true feeling of independence and a sense of pride of being Zambian. There hasn’t been a better time to join than now and remember you are welcome!!!!!

  19. How can a Party deny its member because he has decided to quit?? Prof. Chirwa please publish all the documentary evidence you have to prove that you were a member of MMD just to shame this now party of disgruntled elements.
to avoid this to happen to you in future as you join UPND, please Professor dont join over the phone. come back home and join in public so that you may not be denied again as not being a member of so and so

  20. Great thinking from Dr Clive Chirwa over joining the mighty winning UPND Team. As for Ms Dora and her comments well done in your new capacity so far.

  21. iam left to wonder how a govt spokes person can answer like that.MMD is finished.is this the communication they were talking about.my foot.i see the MMD being embarrassed all the time by this so called communicator.iam shocked dora .one would have thought being a women you would be better than mulongoti or skapwa …but you are worse.the resignations that have rocked the mmd cant not be dismissed just like that.the reason chiluba is busy “reorganising the party” is due to careless statements like yours DORA.zambia yes is riddled with corruption in the civil service and now we see tyranny.and yes chaotic decision making.dismiss these allegation with some substance and not with statements like -iam shocked to hear tantrums .you call it tantrums when one says we have poor road…

  22. so we welcome clive in the pact.we want to develop our country and anyone who is thinking like us is welcome.we are critical of only those that want to take zambians for gra nted

  23. dora is a worse party spokes woman and she’s not fit to be an education minister. How can she deny Clive’s members now when not even her cult sacred Levy dnied his membership of the party?

  24. Minister of Education (#14) … this is what my friend Henry Kyambalesa referred to as “The Party and Its Government Phenomenon” in an article which appeared on this blog sometime back.
