Chibombamilimo’s house set ablaze

Share

Unknown people have broken into and set fire to one of the bedrooms at the house of Mpulungu Member of Parliament Lameck chibombamilimo.

There were no casualties in the fire and only a security guard Isaac Mushima was at the house at the time of the fire incident.

In an interview with ZANIS, today, Mr.Mushima said the incident happened on Thursday night around 23:00hrs as he was outside the house trying to catch some fresh air.

Mr. Mushima said as he was outside, he suddenly noticed that some smoke was emanating from the house, adding that when he entered the room he uses for his bedroom, he found it engulfed in flames.

He said he then started struggling to put out the flames that were now almost reaching the ceiling boards and confirmed that when the fire incident happened, he was alone at home.

Mr. Mushima noted that had it not been for his quick action, the whole house might have been completely gutted.

He said in the inferno, he lost his mobile phone, a radio, personal documents including his NRC and several other personal effects worth thousands of kwacha.

Mr. Mushima who suspected foul play suspected some unknown people to be behind the fire as there was no evidence to indicate that the inferno could have been caused by an electrical fault.

Mr Chibombamilimo was a former Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Development until he was fired by President Rupiah Banda last year for allegedly failing to show allegiance to his party and government.

  1. This is very bad things are becoming wores in Zambia day by day voilence is the oder of the day. Of course the law inforecment system is as dead as ever. Where are we heading to can some one please correct this situation, 🙁

  2. That security guard was alone at home. I think he must be investgated further because he is trying to transfer the blame.

  3. I suspect the guard was smoking kaponda and then he left it on ( akashiki) in his security jacket and the jacket got fire, as the story sound there is no sufficient information suporting that unknown people came into the house just after the guard went outside for fresh air. This was a foul play by the guard. Bamalonda balapepa sana kaponda.

  4. Why is it that us Zambian connect everything that happens to politics? There is only one suspect here and it is the security guard, he was alone at home and he did not see anyone coming into the house. i dont think MMD cadres are involved in any way. If the guard smokes, then he caused the fire…..or it could be due to electric faults. # 1 and 2, think outside the political box.**==

  5. Too bad for chibwabwa milimo.Hope it was just not the guard who was smoking fwaka wanseke and afterall maybe he was even sleep smoking at the time coz he has mentioned about a room he uses as a bed room(guard):-?

  6. “He said in the inferno, he lost his mobile phone, a radio, personal documents including his NRC and several other personal effects worth thousands of kwacha.” This is oky cuz the property destroyed was just worthy in thousandz which can easily be replaced by the tax payers which yah store whilst servin in goverment. From now on yah gotta install CCTV on yah house & the surroundinz.Cuz why the bedroom only, may yah were f*****n a whore which yah never paid. The ******* protocol is like this:money first,pu*sy then, food then.Hope the degree was not burnt…….peace

  7. From what has been written above I fail to see how one can come to the conclusion that this was politically motivated. This is how dangerous rumours start. For me, I thank God that that Mr Chibombamilimo, his family and the security guard are all safe.

  8. Though all thingz that happen are cauzed, we should learn to accept that some are mere accidents and no malice involved. Sorry mudala Chibombamilimo.

  9. This is not the first time Mr Chibombamilimo’s property has been destroyed by fire, a few years ago it was his rest house that got gutted. I don’t want to cast aspersions here but assuming he insures his property it would be wise to ask a few questions. I won’t comment further.

  10. Take the guard to a witch finder and he will be sondad. He is the one who started the fire. Investigate the *****!!!!!

  11. the dumb guard knowz his to blame, just coz his dal doesn’t mean every1 is.
