Zambian international Stopilla Sunzu and Given Singuluma made Caf history today in Lubumbashi after inspiring TP Mazembe to CAf Super Cup triumph.
Sunzu and Singuluma on Sunday both became the first Zambian players to score in a Caf Super Cup final after TP Mazembe beat Stade Mailen of Mali 2-0.
Both players scored from headers to lead TP to their debut CAF Super Cup win.
TP are the current CAF Champions League winners while Stade Malien are the Caf Confederations Cup holders.
Good job lads…:d/
Why dont we have super teams like TP Mazembe whereby a businessman takes it upon himself to massively sponsor a team because he can reap from its brand? There are sleeping brands like Mighty, Devil Devil Brave Rangers in Zambia but all our returned from abroad pros dont seem to think they can invest in these teams and reap great profits. People like Kalusha, Chongo, Johnson Bwalya, Stone Nyirenda need to invest in such ventures. In South Africa its former players who have poured their profits into football clubs such as Kaiser Chiefs Jomo Cosmos. Whats wrong with Zambians?
I thought he went back to ZESCO. What happemed?
Soccer Fan No 2, your attitude is very typical of Zambiano!! You want others to do it for you, what have you done yourself?? If nothing, then keep the thought to yourself!!
It starts with you #2 and me, do we think of improving our country or ourselves, just think about it. Thanks #4, exactly the point.
And suppoze “Socer fan no.2” haz no capacity to initiate such worthwhile and viable venturez, need we shoot him down? Best to digest and ponder about the idea lest we scare away thoze with more such thoughts. Did one local club claim it has Stopilla Sunzu’z signature?
ZANACO claimed Sunzu is in their books. ‘Soccer fan No:2 Have you not heard of K-Stars? Thats Kalu’s team. There is also Mufulira academy run by his brothers. Zeddy Saileti also has an academy in Kitwe and its doing fine. Besides that Katumbi is super rich hence his super. You are the same people who cried fould when Renard selected Sunzu at he is clubless. Given will be in limelight when Tressor Mputu leaves for Europe in the June transfer window probaly to Celtic. At one time Arsenal was eyeing him.
FYI
There is also another Zambian Sebastian Mwansa in TP Mazembe’e books called Sebastian ‘Messi’ Mwansa. I understand Felix Sunzu Jr is also there.
TP Mazembe is the highest paying team in Africa as we speak.
Thanks to our two Zambians footballers for scoring, you really have made history. I’m so hapi for you two. Now set very high standards for yourselves. The money in DRC is good especially with TP Mazembe owned by Katumbi. make enough money for yourselves and play to the fullest, Zambia needs you in upcoming qualifiers.
Iessshhh congrats.
Hats-off to the two players you have done us proud, its better to play 4 a big African club than to warm benches of mideocre European clubs.I think the World needs to watch out for us,in the next two to three years Zambia will retain its GIANT status..
Just for history, Sunzu’s father was No ‘keeper for TP Mazembe in 1983. So the boy is just gone home.
Thanks “only living jay” #6 some people live in democracies but dont learn anything from those societies. People are not supposed to be stopped from giving birth to ideas because they cant carry them out. Thats why in democracies there are business ventures that specialise only in patenting ideas or encouraging those with ideas to present them so that they are sold to investors. Instead of acknowledging my point all PHDs like Kamwendo can do is to classify all Zambians as one and try and kill ideas. Some people! Bonaventure thanks for filling me up on Kalusha’s exploits but my point is that it would be easier to revive an existing brand name like Mighty
