Herve Renard applies for the Tanzanian coaching job

Herve Renard

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has revealed that Zambia National Team coach Herve Renard is among the many tacticians who have applied for the Tanzania job.

TFF’s General Secretary Fredrick Mwakalebela told Daily News Newspaper in Tanzania that t Renard was among high profile coaches who sent in their applications. Over 12 coaches have sent in their applications to replace Brazilian Marcio Maximo, whose contract expires in July.

Herve Renard impressed in the African Nations Cup in Angola by reaching the quarter-finals, but he is now seeking greener pastures.

In the wake of Maximo’s pending departure TFF has started the process of searching for his replacement and Mwakalebela said coaches from Venezuela, United Kingdom as well as other European countries have already submitted their application vying to take over from Maximo.

Reports also indicate that Cote D’Ivoire’s national soccer coach Vahid Haliihodzic who pitched camp with his team in the East African state ahead of the just ended Orange Caf Africa Nations Cup in Angola is also interested in taking charge of the Taifa Stars.

He will however be available after leading the Ivorians through their World Cup campaign this summer in South Africa.

  1. Ka renard ka bufi. i thought he refused a few weeks ago. FAZ do some justice and fire him. Its obvious he wants to leave. he has never impressed me ever since he was hired. We need results!

  2. Ha ha :d/ He has finally found his BOMBASA and where to pack it. This is Good news. Happy to see your back PE teacher and I hope we see Great Galu’s back soon as well. :-ss :-ss :-ss :-ss :-ss :-ss :-ss

  3. Please FAZ let him go to TZ. TZ is worse than Zambia in term of soccer. I wish him success. He thinks quarter finals is something in Zambian soccer. We have palyed the finals with better coaches.

  4. He will change TZ soccer the way he changed Chipolopolo. Zambians especially the media treated this man like trash before the Afcon and reliased later that he is an asset when its too late. The famous saying ” You do not appreciate what you have until its gone” This is what is happening to the Zambians. Good luck in looking for another coach.

  5. let him go imwe! how many times have i said this! does he want us to pack for him! he knows where he puts his bombasa and bambaz bane! let him pack and go, he can go ku travel agency, they will do everything, if anything now he can just drive to tanzannia bane. how much is full tank these days? we can pay for one full tank. The wife he can leave behind, ku tanzania kwaliva ama moslem, we will take care of her here:d. deuces bane:)>-

  6. Go- we have had enough of you- You can get Kalusha Bwalya with you. Is also never help soccer in zambia- just made name for himself and never helped young ones. Thanks anyway-

  7. Let him walk out on us or finish his contract while we also look for another coach. It si evident the actor/coach doesn’t want to stay. Ba pysio ba chizungu ku pusa

  8. this guy needs Zambia’s attention. Twikapapata naimwe, George Lwandamina can do it.We appreciate your efforts and please all the best.

  9. I think this ka guy, is just wastening our time, to him reaching the quarter final is best achievment, he didnt know that we only have one stage which is wining the Afcon, FAZ should just kick off this ka guy coz they are saying that they will renew his contract, he is busy looking for employment somewhere, let him go and we see if he ll do anything in Tanzania

  10. People,is HR really a good coach?:o:o:o:o these guys just want to make money in Africa, they have nothing to offer, let us emulate Egypt and Algeria

  11. Let him Go and i tell you he will see how Zambians are Talented. He will be kicked out within 3 months Mark my words:-\”:-\”:-\”

  12. So what? I really wonder what is behind all this report. It is NORMAL to look elsewhere when the contract is coming to an end. The fact that Renard has not indicated whether he will seek renewal should not worry us at all. let him go if he wants. We will find another coach.

  13. uyu coach litole lyamuntu, atontokanya ngakatomba-matipa,he is thinking that ba Tanzania balateyapo bwino ukuchila ba Zambia, let him GO, Tanzanian team won’t even make it to the 2012 AFCON

  14. This is a sad day in Zambian football. Personally, I would like to thank Herve Renard for doing a good job with Zambia, should he get the job in TZ (a smaller team than Zambia I think). I think it is only fair to thank the man and wish him well in his endeavours, and that there’s nothing wrong with being ambitious. On the other hand, FAZ need to act quick and look for somebody who has experience, is ambitious and somebody that has worked with african teams-no time for experiments! We want a semi final or final finish in 2012 nothing less! all the best Mr Herve Renard.

  15. Egypt and Algeria, North Africa in general, have plenty of locally qualified coaches because they have professional leagues and are also close to Europe. We dont have big-team and big-game temperament coaches. Our local coaches are too used to failure and as such cant inspire our national team. They simply cant handle a big team. We need to create a highly competitive league from which we can tap not only good coaches but good players too.

  16. so this comes to money as the big issue right?according to what Herve was saying,he wanted a team going to the world cup….is Tanzania going to RSA,NO but am sure they are offering more money.we shud let him go.we need a coach who will desire for something higher than quarter finals at the Africa cup.

  17. Chill people. The man’s contract is terminating in May 2010, he can renegotiate or leave and he chooses to leave, we wish him the best and move on. The best time to look for a new job is while one is still employed …. we all do this except his is a public job so leave the man alone.

  18. The News says he is among 12 others. Do we all think TZ will go for him? If TZ rejects him, what will the FAZ Galu do? Go on the knees and suck his balls? I think they should kick him is the assss

  19. Ba Tanzania ba chipantepante, they will think he is a magician until they get walloped 10 – 0 that is when they will know the chap is still a student coach. Lwenu take him away PONGA!~o)~o)~o)~o)

  20. Let him go,don´t wanna see his face or hear about him. kuya Renard……..we don´t ever want to qualify through hand balls. We can do do much better without you:)>-

  21. Personally, i have never supported Renard. 1. He has never come up with his own players apart from the players that our own Patrick Phiri made 2. He was hand pick as the post newspaper reported, he was not picked on merit. 3. Quarter finals is not what we expected. Finally i good coach should take us to a stage that we have never been i mean winning the cup.
So let him go and lets call back our own Patrick Phiri

  22. Sad people, get a life and stop the beef. His contract is coming to an end so he has every right to go wherever he wants to . Some people’s motivation is only financial not other things and this might explain why he’s ready to go down to a team that has no chance in hell to qualify for AFCON2012 but will put more shillings in his pocket than the kwachas you’re giving him.

  23. Tottenham are set to swoop for Zambia’s 16-year-old left back Emmanuel Mbola in a £1m deal from Armenian side Yerevan.
Hope this gossip turns out to be true. Forget bout Renard:)>-

  24. # 1 Shimwalule
Plse note that … When there is no meat, the lion eat grass :d
Lets wish him good luck. He worked under difficult conditions for years. Fans sueing the football house demanding inclusion of a player not selected by coach.
Its when a slave escapes that his master realise how important s/he was! :*

  25. It is always saddening to read the blogs here. Everyone seems so negative on any matter. When are we going to see goodness. Negativity is highly addictive. A few weeks ago we delighted that Zambia reached the first quarters in 14 years under Herve Renar. Let’s not show hostility to any person. A thank you is better than a piss off.

  26. Am not sure what Herve meant when he said he wanted to coach a bigger team, did u mean country size? larger pay check? TZ is ranked 108, ZED is ranked 73. Please can someone clarify what he meant? TZ hasn’t qualified for the world cup.

Herve Thanks for the services rendered to the mighty chipolopolo boys, sorry for the confusion in FAZ and all the best.

  27. Yaba what happened? Did Sata open his big mouth again? Nomba HR alefwaya uku butukila ku TZ. zedians talk too much and work too little. TZ is not a bigger team but Tanzanians are humble. Anyway i’m sure from his assesment there is not much difference other than the fact he can get on with his job without the distraction of the blah blah blah. Good luck HR. As for me it’s ZED to the end. maybe when big mouth loses in 2011 a new breed of serious minded and skilled zedians will begin to emerge for it will be clear that integrity, clarity, HONESTY, HUMILITY, selflessness and the FEAR OF THE LORD are more trustworthy and reliable character traits than baseless insults flowing from a mishanga stained ruggedy old MOUTH!!

  28. But chi sata just reminds me of the worst in Africa. What happened to the Nkrumah’s, Nyerere’s, Mandela’s, Obama’s and many more great leaders we are capable of producing. Indeed we should cry for our beloved nation. When others are moving forward we go pick up something from the pit latrine atase!!

  29. Nigeria did not just get him hence,he is wishing to go to Tanzania. He was just after our money. If Galu is not corrupt this guy will be jobless mwebantu. That was the best CV apangile.

  30. Why all this negativity & bitterness? Let the man go in peace if he wants to go.We all look for greener pastures in our careers & lives so why freak out when another man seeks something better in his life, who knows maybe the man has never even been paid ever since he became Zambia coach so let’s wish him all the best in his future endeavours if he really is going.

  31. Mwe bantu, this is is going to be a sad state of affairs if HR leaves. We will just go back to our cycle of switching coaches kwati ma bamba..look at Egypt who have maintained Shehata for so long and look at their success. ifwe we have never won anything worth mentioning and yet we act like we are the best in the world… you will eat your words I tell you. Kalu and FAZ did a tremendous job in getting the squad ready for Angola. You guys forget that at one time FAZ camped the national team in Miami, FL, USA to prep for AFCON and the guys were sharing beds na ma hamburger for lunch… we have come a long way with this admin save for their london silliness. Try writing a list of positives and negatives and you will see that you will miss both “Galu” and the PE teacher

  32. We all want greener pasture, especially as Zambians. He’s only human, so let him fulfill his dreams. We dont pay him enough.
    # 53 you’re a wise blogger if he goes Zed will be doomed. But remember Zambians started giving him ultimatums, maybe he’s sick of the ill treatment!!! All u said is correct but FAZ’s EGO will kill the team!!!

  33. Lets keep the team together, we need this guy stop the empty pride here. And lets stop thinking we are a team to reckon with anymore, but if we go for consistency we might just improve. Its nonsense to say we have been to the finals twice, DRC has won the Afcon twice see where they are, lets build put aside personal egos at play here. Zambia needs this guy, because our local coaches are not exposed, cannot plan, etc.

  34. Run Herve, run… & never look back if it pleases you. Never before have I seen such an ungrateful basterd. We’v helped you more than you’v helped us. What have you shown us that we’v never tasted before? Now, go to ur BIG TEAM, & enjoy da ‘World Cup’!

  35. :o):o):o) great news if he can get that job as soon as possible .just as the ivorian coach who stumbled in angola ,herve failed to master the world cup hopes and yes his services are needed by teams who need to qualify for the africa cup but zambia needs the formula to win the cup and make the world cup .unfortunately our frenchmate is not the man who can achieve those elusive goals .we need someone like the coach who resigned from the angolan national team .it would be great if only he can accept a postdated cheque from kalu which obviously will bounce at the bank later .@-)@-):-?:-?:-??:-?8->#:-s

  36. bshe ma boys abaleteya bwino nangu ni ba coach.lets go back to playing bola mu ma primary filya ifa 1st,2nd and 3rd teams. weekends should keep abana off the ba NIKOL ai and the home made wines. Bola panshi its never too late.Let the coach leave if he wants ,its a free world
