The National Restoration -Party has dispelled assertions that it is being sponsored by the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).
NAREP interim president Elias Chipimo Jr. says the party is not being sponsored by any organization but it is a financially independent party.
Mr. Chipimo, a prominent Lusaka Lawyer has since challenged those claiming that his party is being sponsored by the MMD to adduce evidence to substantiate their claims.
He has also defended his close relationship with the second republican president Dr Fredrick Chiluba’s press aide Emmanuel Mwamba.
Mr. Chipimo says there is nothing wrong to engage people that have been in politics for some time as he is new on the scene.
Featuring on the Public’s Last Say, On QFM last evening, Mr. Chipimo said he has been consulting and engaging politicians to see which path he can take.
Meanwhile , Former Church of God Overseer Bishop John Mambo has advised second republican president Frederick Chiluba to desist from using God to gain political advantage.
Bishop Mambo says it is wrong for Dr. Chiluba to claim to be a Christian when he is busy attacking others in public. He says attacks by the second republican president on others are disappointing especially coming from a person who declared Zambia a Christina Nation.
Bishop Mambo has since advised Dr.Chiluba to take a leave from active politics and concentrate on the needs of the church.
He says Dr Chiluba should now relax and enjoy his retirement other than going around attacking people; something he says is shocking for a born-again Christian.
He adds that Dr Chiluba should also desist from attacking other church leaders.

I have always envied Chipimo Jnr for his analytical approach to intellectual matters especiallly those involving a national character – I remember when he used to feature on programmes to do with LUSE I believe. I for one I have no problem with him coz he has the knowledge and ability to some extent even the muscle to run his party. Even the backbone of Mr Maboshe is also a plus coz he needs wisdom from the elders so that they guide him all the way – * -otherwise congrates and I support my fellow youth
I for one in kitwe I support him coz I have at least the chance of listening to him over a number of years. I personally even know which house he came from and what he is capable of doing so just go on my freind. You dont have to be a thug to be a politician! Anyone looking for hope for Zambia knows by now that this hope will not come from RB or Sata. These guys are old and will be no more soon. Do you expect them to be there in 20 – 30 years time.
So let us give chance to young and energetic men like HH and Chipimo. I hope HH will not disappear with the PACT. And I hope Chipimo succeeds.
It will be good to see many more young men and women come up. Especially healthy and educated ones. Wont you fancy some Zambian Obamas. Fresh air.
Hopefully MMD will produce some young contenders too. Mutati seems ok but I dont like his preferential treatment for foreign investors, especially mine owners. He needs to demonstrate that he’s a defender of Zambia’s interest. I am not sure about anyone else in MMD.

My advise to Chipimo is not to respond to criticism anyhow. All he should do is whenever he speaks, only talk about issues. He will win respect. Look at HH. He began very well in the foot steps on Mazoka. But he has reduced himself to Sata’s level. Expedience yes, but at what cost. Zambians need solutions. I hope HH will turn back.

Anyone aligning with Chiluba’s political skills should be history. Chiluba until death is a “No go Area”, unless political amateurs like Elias trying to take advantage of the much needed change pa Z. Any comparisons of Elias Chipimo jr with Obama borders on delusion. Do you have any idea how Obama started his campaign? Obama started with a door to door campaign meeting the people, some who were even laughing at his name —–OBAMA, ‘Obama who?’ they asked. Elias, have been to Chawama, George compound, Mandevu or Misisi compound? I bet you have not . Start with a door to door (or is it compound to compound) campaign at grass root level.
