Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Ronnie Shikapwasha has apologized to the Chona family and the nation for the pain caused by the inclusion of the late Mainza Chona’s name in a statement issued by the Ministry yesterday.
Lt. Gen Shikapwasha explained that his office yesterday issued a statement in reaction to former Defence Minister George Mpombo’s statement blaming the death of Late Home Affairs Deputy Minister and Mufumbwe Member of Parliament Misheck Bonshe on government.
In a press statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Lt. Gen. Shikapwasha said in yesterday’s statement, the late Mainza Chona’s name was mentioned as one of the people the government has in the pasted helped to evacuate outside the country for specialist treatment.
“I wish to apologize to the Chona family, friends and relatives for the pain caused by the inclusion of the late Mainza Chona’s name. It is my prayer that the family accepts our sincere deep regret,” he said.

This shikapwasha guy he just speaks withoout reasoning. How can a loose canon be a govt spokesperson
Govt should not evacuate anyone to overseas hospitals. Improve the hospitals we have in Zambia. This backward thinking is a killer.
Silly………go away!!!!!!!!!
i shudder to imagine that Ronnie shikapwasha was once a senior Military man tasked with the responsibility of defending our nation. I think all that time he was incharge our country was at the messy of the enemies. We had put a headless chicken to defend our nation. we should charge the appointing power for negligence and Shikapwasha with treason for holding such a sensitive position without a brain
:-\”Ibange libi ba general!! Anyway how is Mr CDF Mabenga. I heard he has been threatening pipo on some radio stations? More apologies expected. I heard Victoria Falls was sold in China?
Wabe mona ubukulu. Think before you talk. The guy has no brains, and his face looks more like that of Buffalo. Looking at RB’s calibre, that’s the best he could come up with. That’s as much as they can reason.
What exactly is he apologizing for? Is that he should not have mentioned the name at all. Or because he mentioned then name when infact the govt did not evacuate the man for medical treatment. This is another one of those articles that LT just copy – pastes
Bravo shikas. a man should be able to admitt when he is wrong or has wronged others. Good leadership qualities exhibited here by Shikas. If only Sata could learn also and apologise to all catholics and Zambians for failing to be a morally upright leader, who lacks self control when it comes to Petronella’s ntwenu. I would be the first to forgive him, because it can happen that some ntwenu’s are more powerful and can fool a man over and over again, untill he makes two children.
It’s very good that an apology has been made. Careless talk must be avoided.
Typical of simple minds, Shikapwasha always talks about PEOPLE. If he could elevate his discourse to addressing issues, he’d hurt fewer people’s feelings & could actually get some people to listen to him without insults.
Eeeh! Chona family please don’t accept that Shikapwasha diarrhoea mind. Seek legal action on that and drag them to court to explain why on earth he included comrade Mainza Chona. This Shikapwasha just reacts to everything without reasoning. I wonder what he was doing at ZAF. Being the Chief there, eeh with this parroting, surely he can bomb everyone even his own soldiers. Silly small mind.
Oh God!! I want to cry. Whats this?
#11Personal hatred should not mask rational thinking. What else do you expect Shikapwasha to do after realizing the error? Go on the defensive?
Apology accepted. I wish ftj could do the same for the misery he has caused due to his thiefing
Mwe ba mutendeeeeeee. Shikas has appologised therefore, its up to the poeple to take it or leave it. He is a clean man in this issue. Mulebelengako ne fipingo. let the adamant leaders learn from this. Its not easy to say sorry, we have always wanted to make a wrong right but in his case, he is remorsfull.
