The Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) Lusaka Province Women have called on women politicians in the country to practice politics of   value and honesty instead of politics of insults, hate and disrespect.

MMD Lusaka Province Women Chairlady, Jane Mkalipi said this at a media briefing at the MMD provincial office in Lusaka yesterday. She was reacting to Forum For Democracy and Development (FDD) President Edith Nawakwi’s recent comments on President Banda’s Trip to China.

Ms. Mkalipi said the utterances by Ms. Nawakwi were as a result of lack of knowledge adding that she will not be allowed to destroy MMD the way she destroyed FDD. She said President Rupiah Banda has scored many successes and his last trip to China resulted in China reducing 50 percent of the total debts for the TAZARA rail line.

She said the President also managed to convince investors to invest in Zambia which will create more Jobs for people in various sectors of the economy. She added that the President also strengthened the bilateral relations between Zambia and China.

Ms. Mkalipi stressed that Ms. Nawakwi has neither capacity nor intelligence to run for republican presidency adding that her morals were questionable.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mkalipi has also reacted to Richard Kapita‘s utterances that only mad people can defect to MMD. She said that the United Party for National Development (UPND) is not a threat to the ruling MMD adding that the UPND has failed to perform as a party on its own.

Ms. Mkalipi has since asked Mr Kapita to be cautious in his utterances and urged him to concentrate on his party whose leader is allegedly about to be impeached by his own Members of Parliament (MPs).

  4. MMD Lusaka Youth Chairman threatens Ms. Nawakwi with gang rape. Where was MMD Lusaka Province Women Chairlady, Jane Mkalipi when such things were being said, no wonder you are WILLIAMS puppets!!

  5. Nice observation Fatmo. Someone needs to ask her where she was when nawakwi was being treatened with gang r**e. Maybe she was busy sucking William B’s thingy…

  7. Nawakwi is more intelligent than Rb. She is a smart woman and can run this country betterthan what we are seeing now. Am sure this Mukalipi is not even a grade twelve!! Leave bo Edith alone and sort out your mess in MMD before you are kicked out next year.

  8. Ok what about peddling drugs in the siznam? any comment whatever your name is but you cadre[-x[-x[-x[-x[-x[-x[-x[-x[-x

  9. This skin bleached airport dancing queen is nowere near Edith’s intellingency. I doubt the size of her brain, surely where was she when chalwe and his MMD cadres were threatening to gang rape the FDD president. malabishi

  10. Edith Nawakwi is one of the most intelligent Zambians. She went to Imperial College London for her MSc. Imperial College only accepts exceptionally gifted intellectuals. Before that she was at Unza. In those days, going to Unza was only for the most brilliant of persons. Therefore, she is more than capable of running Zambia.

  11. # 14, Nawakwi’s moral integrity may be no better than any in the MMD – except, it’s better than Rupiah’s and Chiluba’s, but to say she has no intelligence is an insult to the world of the learned. She’s certainly more intelligent than all these dancing queens’ put together. This MMD provincial slut is pure masipa!

  12. Just the other day It was Womens Day!!! What a Way to Display, Girl Power!!! PHDs. Some Things Are better not Said.. @14, You re RIGHT Academically She Is Exceptional. And She Did Run The Ministry Of Finance at One time and if am apt With info she is into Business…. I dont Know this Mkalipi… But What Credentials Does She Have to Sling At Edith?…. Heheheheh

  13. I really like Edith Nawakwi, and she would make an an excellent minister of women’s affairs.

However, what I can’t get past is that even though she is obviously intelligent and has higher education, she seemed to defer her responsibility as a minister to the IMF when it came to standing up. When you say that you went along with the privatisation of the mines because ‘The IMF told me that copper prices would not rise in my lifetime’ (this was in 1999), you either don’t have the intelligence or the backbone. No one can know what copper prices are going to be in one week, let alone 40 years from now.

Therefore, anyone telling you that ‘copper prices will not rise in 40 years’ doesn’t know what they are talking about or are lying to you. In such cases, judgment is required.

  14. (Continued…) Of course there are plenty of male MMD ministers who will go along and do whatever they’re told.

At least that show of either stupidity or lying from the IMF presented an opportunity to push through a windfall tax as part of the privatisation process (i.e., she could have answered “If you say prices will not rise in my lifetime, you will have no objection to capping profits at $2500 per tonne, just to be generous”).

We need ministers who will stand up for the Zambian people’s interests first.

There is no excuse for anyone in Zambia to be poor. The money is there and does not need to be borrowed. The unused land, unharvested water, unexplored mines, the business that can be created – everthing is there.

  15. The worst mistake Edith made was to “go to bed with RB” in 2008 campaigns. That for me destroyed her integrity. As for dancing to the IMF song, any minister will dance to any tune the president is dancing to in most African countries even when the instruments have fallen silent.

  16. #14 Education and intelligence are not one and the same thing – that is why you argue against the degree clause. Anyway, if tomorrow Nawakwi is to campaign for RB, you will all talk about her “stealing” somebody’s husband.

  17. # 7 Timbwi from the description that u have given, u seem to know Ms Jane Mukalipi. This lady is a business woman and u statement is correct that she joined MMD for govt contracts. She has some shops in Kamwala and other places hence I do not think she is an honest member of MMD she is in it for contracts. Nawakwi is more educated than this lady and she should not reduce her like that. We know that at times Nawakwi speaks nonsense but then she is the only woman that has stood up and speaks without fear. VIVA Nawakwi

  18. Jane Mkalipi. WTF are you from? You’re just another headless chicken who knows nothing about what is going so please just shut up and crawl back into that hole you came out from. elections are only next year ka and the PACT under the leadership of HH are retiring you loosers

  19. This Mkalipi girl must be very dumb. What does she mean when she say RB convinced ‘investors’ to come and invest in Zambia? Does she mean this dumping of prison labour from China as investment!!! I am shocked at her ignorance

  20. Jane is just one those Hules where every MMD official will urinate their ma water. No need to comment further
