Brazil Football Academy Offer to Camp Zambia

Share

Brazilian football academy Ole of Sao Paulo has offered to camp the Zambia national team.

Ole Academy exclusive representative for Africa Perry Rodriguez said this on Wednesday after meeting sports permanent secretary Teddy Mulonga at the ministry headquarters.

Rodriguez said Ole was also interested in building relationship with local football stakeholders to camp junior players on term basis in Brazil.

“We can also accommodate your national team if they want to camp there,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said the invitation was also extended to any top Zambian club like Caf continental representatives Zanaco and Zesco United to consider camping at Ole Academy.

Rodriguez said so far, Ole was looking at ways to host Zanaco coach Wedson Nyirenda on a six-month attachment at the academy.

Meanwhile, And Mulonga said that Ole’s idea to partner with Zambian football stakeholders sounded exciting and was one his ministry would explore.

And Rodriguez said Ole has also successfully hosted junior teams from Kazakhstan, South Africa and Sudan on extended stay training camps.

  1. Zambians take this opportunity with both hands. Brazil is a home of football and the more junior platyers to learn from talented fellows the better our nursery of players will grow. In fact, most European teams send scouts to Brazil and who knows we may end up getting some of boys sold to progressive clubs. Think long term and NOT what is in it for you as a FAZ offical or Minsitry offical, let the boys learn and the country will benefit in the long term. Don’t be jealousy, pick the boys on merit and give them equal opportunities where they are suited. Go for it and put up a meaningful proposal that can be taken forward.

  2. # 3 praise must go to Brazil, why do we Zambians always want to misplace situations. Mulonga was approached because of his office and nothing to do with his soccer background

  3. I don’t think much of Teddy and all those messed up FAZ and tender board in the past. I have respect for the Gumbohs, Wilted Phiris, the Wonanis, the Chitalus and Cholas but NOT Kalusha and his quarrelling bunch. They seem to be in FAZ to serve their interests and stifling progress. We need te likes of Hanif Adams or even Simataa to some extent. Not these self glorifying individuals and a very toothless NSCZ.

  4. I’m sure these Brazilians are not offering handouts. So how much of tax payers money is at stake here?

  5. These are the offers that Kalusha loves! Im sure he shall be saying he is the one who negotiated the offer when his fellow football chiefs in Southern Africa have successfully negotiated with the World Cup participating teams to camp in e.g. Botswana, Mozambique, Swaziland, Namibia, Lesotho even our neighbour Zimbabwe are in the loop! Where is the FAZ chief in all this? He is with his wife in RSA while she negotiates top deals for RSA!
    What can I say?

  6. # The issue of the world cup lies in the hands of your government. What facilities do you have for teams to camp in Zambia. As mentioned the Academy approached us not the otherway round. Do you expect FAZ to go out and offer what they dont have to the world cup committee? Spare us your personal issues with Kalusha and contribute postively. Your late President, Levy started singing about constructing stadiums more than four years ago. Where are they? If we hand GOOD facilities,l m sure Kalusha is well placed to have assisted to bringing teams to camp in Zambia.

  7. LT WHY DO YOU CONTINUE IGNORING THE FAZ SAGA. DONT TELL US IT IS A POST NEWSPAPER PROBLEM JUST REPORT WE WILL MAKE UP OUR MINDS ABOUT WHAT IS PULLING ZAMBIAN SOCCER DOWN ON OUR OWN

  8. THE SOCCER ACADEMY IS A BUSINESS. THEY ARE JUST SELLING. IF THE DEAL GOES THROUGH THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE MONEY FROM US. IN ADDITION THEY WILL RECOMMEND A BRAZILIAN COACH WHO IS GOING TO GET EMPLOYMENT AT HEAVY COSTS TO US STILL. THEY WILL MAKE FURTHER COMMISSION FROM HIM FOR SECURING THE JOB. MEANWHILE THEIR PROFILE IMPROVES AND MALAWI OR ANOTHER POOR AFRICAN COUNTRY FOLLOWS SUIT. COME WORLD CUP ZAMBIA DOES NOT EVEN QUALIFY AND BRAZIL LIFTS THE CUP. KALUSHA GETS A CUT AT EVERY TURN.

  9. Zambians are so accustomed to free things that they think the academy is free. FAZ/GRZ has to PAY to camp any team there. Even Zanaco is PAYING for its coach to be attached there. Free things went with KK. This is the era of PAYING. Living in the diaspora is good because PAYING for everything is the norm. PAYING = QAULITY LIFE. FREE = POOR/ZAMBIA

  10. The Spirit of the Lord tells me to tell you that this that you have received, this that you have dispersed to others over the years and over the decades, everything will be accumulated into one moment in time which starts in March. And this eruption will happen through you and a few others that I’ve chosen. God said it is a responsibility because the enemy will come and he will fine tune it because he will say “I must focus on him.” But God said as he attacks you I will give you more access, more access into the world, the Middle Eastern world where they will come and they will say “will you come and will you be the prophet to us because you understand our culture, you understand who we are and you are able to speak our language.”

  11. @ #9. Ba MB, where would the World Cup teams train if they camped in Zambia? Independence Stadium is a wreck. Konkola Stadium is sub-standard. Nkoloma stadium… let’s not even talk about that one.
