A prominent lawyer has called on Zambians to stop the habit of complaining that government is not doing well to develop the country and sit back.
In an interview with Qfm, Mumba Kapumpa said there is no sense in issuing complaints that government has failed the nation without taking action afterwards.
He said the people have the responsibility to hold government accountable for all its activities regarding the governance of the country.
He said Zambians must bear in mind that governance is not only by those in leadership but everyone is part and parcel of it.
He said every Zambian has the right to demand for good governance from those in charge of the governance of the country.
He said the future of the country is in the hands of every citizen; hence they should not give up demanding for reliable governance by those in authority.

These are reports are hal baked at times. I dont know why they cant write them in the context they were alleged to have been issued. Its vague to even issue a comment here.
#1 Can’t agree you more. Typical mediocre journalism from the so called independent private media, QFM, whoever they are. I doubt you would see such a half backed story with just a headline to hoodwink people in either Times of Zambia or Daily Mail. The quality and depth is there for all to see. And even their elder POST is full of gutter journalism
Indeed this is a ver shallow piece of reporting. It is difficient of detail.
However, i do not understand how #2 has rushed to attacked the Post. You are totally missing the point. If you were for a meoment try and put you shallow cadre mantality, you’d realise that much as the state media have well written articles, they also suffer from baised reporting. Put your head together man
yes who ever is in gonvernment must be held acountable !!!!
#1,2
Is the article shallow because it wasn’t written by useless robots at Times/Daily or its your comprehension which is somewhat dodgy?
Something is glaringly amiss here! Is Mumba trying to agitate for people to rise against the government or what? And what prominence at law is this fool, gentlemen, we should be serious about the useage of some of these word because there is nothing, zero, prominent at law that Mumba has ever achieved. I would like to see one single precedent in our law books that was created by Mumba. I would accept the likes of Prof. Mvunga, Levy, Chongwe etc being called prominent lawyers, not “Barry White”.
Well he has said plain and simple. Let’s not just complain…….Instead, why don’t we put this article back in the oven so that it can be fully baked? :)>-
MK, don’t say anything if you have nothing to say! As a lawyer you should realize that complaining is a form of action in itself! If we don’t complain, those retards mismanaging our affairs will think that they are doing a good job! Are you soliciting for a political appointment or what!
The post is full of rubbush nowadays they are so petty
#9, but why are you complaing on LT? 😮
I totally agree with Kapumpa, Zambians love to complain, we complain about anything. The NGOs and opposition parties are the first ones to start complaining and they have transmitted this behavior to the general population, and the Post newspaper has been very instrumental on showing people how to complain about everything. I think its time we stopped complaining and start doing positive things at individual level.
For those who are anti Post imagine if for these past years we only had the Times,ZDM and ZNBC as our only source for news? The Post is not perfect but where would ve been our democracy without it,Kuku and your elder brother Chief Bootlicker-wake up napapata!!!
There we go again complaining about a simple well put advice. There a lot of things that the press report , which the public just complain about and never find interest addressing the issue; The theft by Kapoko, the raw deal of hearses, NCC bull .s.h.i.t allowances… all we do is complain….Mumba K.lives comfortably.however, his advice is for those masses who are living in abject poverty…most of you people on the blog, live a “decent” life , thats why you dont seem to find this piece of article to be helpful…lets learn to question our leadership. and stand for what is right…:o:o:o
Aha Ba Kapumpa, I remember at Mpelembe High School PTA how you complained that Miners were only paying K2,000 per child while you from the out side were paying in hundreds of thousands.
Mr Kapumpa yes we do complain. do you expect us to attack the leaders after complaining? because if you complain they (GRZ) issue a warning that the law will visit us. it is hard. Mr Kapumpa Zambia is not like the west where people complain once and action is taken to please them…….no no no and Zambia will never be like that for long-time from now.:”>:d
While the article is obviously poorly written I think many of us also have poor comprehension skills. MUMBA KAPUMPA IS NOT SAYING DON’T COMPLAIN FULLSTOP. AWE he is saying complain and act on it, in short you can’t complain about dirty streets in Lusaka when you are one of the people littering the place, rather when you complain about the state of affairs back it up with solution so that your complaint holds more water e.g you can suggest a firm where the government can perhaps procure more trash cans and also solutions to waste management. I AGREE WITH THIS ADVISE EVEN THOUGH HE IS NOT ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE LETS, LOOK OBJECTIVELY AT THINGS PEOPLE SAY WITHOUT ATTACHING THE NAME OR FACE OF THE PERSON, EVEN A FOOL CAN SPEAK SENSE SOMETIMES.
