President Rupiah Banda has condemned the emerging culture of tribal politics in the country stating that tribalism is a cancer that will destroy the country if condoned.
President Banda said it is disheartening to see politicians sink so low as to be debating tribal politics in this modern era at the expense of developmental issues.
He said it is not possible for him to appoint a cabinet of 73 people to have all the tribes in Zambia to be represented in cabinet.
Mr Banda stated that cabinet ministers are appointed on merit regardless of tribe, race, sex, and creed as per Zambian constitution.
The President said he felt vindicated by comments attributed to Paramount Chief Mpezeni that he has not appointed a Ngoni in his cabinet.
Mr Banda, who is Chewa/Ngoni by tribe, said the comments by Paramount Chief Mpezeni showed that he was not a tribalist because he has not appointed a single cabinet minister from his own tribe.
He has since appealed to the media to avoid giving prominence to tribal remarks as they have the potential of sparking hatred and violence as witnessed in a number of countries.
President Banda has further appealed to his Cabinet Ministers and ruling party officials to avoid getting involved in tribal politics.
President Banda also challenged the media to do a thorough scrutiny at State House and see whether it is true insinuations by some politicians that he has appointed his tribesmen in key positions in his office.
This was contained in a statement released to QFM today by the president’s special assistant for press and public relations Dickson Jere.

THE DISINGENUOUS POLITICS OF GEORGE MPOMBO
Mpombo is not proud of his humble education as a mere Grade 12 hence wastefully studying the dictionary for words he publicly misapplies with impunity. I presume many educated Zambians feel insulted whenever they hear Mpombo claiming he is studying for BA Political science at UNZA then changes the version that he is doing an MBA with some Australian University. Unfortunately both disciplines demand an analytical and intensive reading mind His deficiencies are overbearing to be in any of these intensive disciplines.
That aside, Mpombo has become the personification of politics of irrelevancy democratic peace theory covers. He is an ethnic chauvinist who is not seeing RB’s innumerous efforts in ending years of polarization and identity politics through his approach towards realizing a Mass party in Zambia. Mpombo is shooting himself carelessly at national constituency. Wondering how he will redeem himself from his irrelevancy politics.
Simply the chap is one embattled political vagabond whose fixated mindset holds strong that its future lies squarely on promulgating tribalism and hatred. He promulgation of ethnic hatred is without basis. Here he is failing to see that Mpezeni’s complaint vindicate RB that he is a true nationalist. Then comes the question which ethnic group is Mpombo belaboring to channel his hatred against which RB has been practicing tribalism with? Is it the Ngonis, Bembas, Lozis, lalas, kaondes, ng’umbos, Nyikas or tumbukas?
RB has the most diverse and inclusive administration the country has ever had which Mpombo should have known if in his Matero University Pol. Science degree he has taken Comparative politics 101 and research Methods classes’ mandatory in Political Science.
Then where do Mpombo innuendos hold water? Which tribe does he want to be hated and cleansed based on his crusade?
Mpombo’s failed crusade or agenda of fueling ethnic hatred is sterile and self-serving publicly irrelevant in a country where progressive democratic forces under RB are creating national harmony, common purpose on mutual respect, and non-ethnic national identities founded on excellence and ability of individuals than their tribes.
Politics of baseless reprisal formations Mpombo is thriving on in the tabloids can only whip up negative ethnic sentiments he is senseless promulgating and confine his few gullible trolling followers to selfish but romanticized ethnic identities that are mutually exclusive and, of necessity to him, hostile to each other.
History records the failure of such parody Mpombo personifies. His struggle is a stunted one inspired solely by self induced grievances and vested ethnic interests already defeated by the robust of President Banda and his MMD party inspired and driven by the pursuit of democratic ideals for all.
Zambians are seeing that the change movements of RB politics are driven by universal democratic ideals such as the rule of law, justice and freedom, pursue the emancipation of all, including ethic chauvinists like Mpombo and all wishful narcissistic political trolls. The RB administration is focused on and seek to dismantle all primordial unjust systems of family trees that were, not to take them over as the new detriments to our Zambianness anymore.

The Lusaka Local Court was this morning characterized by bursts of laughter after Kitwe?s Chimwemwe constituency Member of Parliament Willy Nsanda referred to his wife Febby Mumba as a prostitute.
Mr. Nsanda who appeared in court after Febby, aged 48 filed for divorce said he never married Febby but only had an intimate affair with her.
He said he was surprised that he was called to court for divorce when he was never married to her.
Mr. Nsanda said as far as he knows Febby had sexual

You will be forgiven for thinking Morningside Clinic is in Zambia. While the masses of our people are dying from serious diseases like Aids, cancer and many more, our leaders continue to waste our national resources by going to South Africa to be treated for a mosquito bite.
Since the inception of the multi party system in Zambia in, we have seen the influx of people from rural areas into urban areas in search of greener pastures. The number of people now leaving in Lusaka has increased ten fold from 1991. This, on it’s on, should have been a good reason for whoever is or was in power to pioneer the construction of many and NOT one hospital. Here we are not talking about unregulated little private hospitals run from two bed-roomed houses in every suburb…
charging our people exorbitant fees enough to buy Japanese cars if you visited them for a week.
Since we started taking our leaders to Morningside clinic from 1991 to date, the money spent should have built our own Morningside clinic. My poor calculations tell me Billions of kwacha have been spent.
Consider the following
1.A return ticket business class to South Africa will be around US$ 1200
2.In most case these people go with wives, bodyguards, personal assistant, their own Zambian Doctor and maybe with one or two of their children, total five (5) people which equals US$ 6000.
3.A bed at Sandton clinic before consultation is approximately R3000, which is around US$ 400 at today’s rate. Say that person stays on average 10 days, we looking at US$ 4000.

4.Doctor’s consultation can be anything between US$ 500 to 5000 depending on your problem, scans, tests and other analysis will get you down by another US 3000. In total you will be spending around US$ 7000 here.
5.Surgery/ heart bypass you will be looking at another US 8000.
6.Accommodation at Road Lodge, the hotel opposite Sandton clinic will charge you R800 per night without food, which is US$ 120 by 5 people in the crew = US$ 600 x 10 days = US$ 6000.

In Zambia, we could build a modest hospital for 1 million dollars (including commissions and nchekelakos)
Did you know that Morningside clinic is just finalising the final touches to their expansion programme. It now looks like a five star hotel….. Part of our money I guess.

# 46. Please give us a break. I support neither UPND nor PF – but to say they are Tonga and Bemba parties respectively is wrong. There is a Grade 5 Social Development Studies book which can help you. Lusaka is metroplitan with all tribes represented and the party of all tribes lost. Copperbelt is not Bembaland but PF won. Northwestern is not Tongaland and UPND won. People who talk loudest about tribalism are the major tribalists. Just know that in Zambia most people, you inclusive, gravitate to the party in power – the day the PF of UPND take over, you will shift and start calling MMD a small tribal party.

I am surprised at the number of bloggers who are saying that President Banda is a Ngoni. Chief Mpezeni is quoted as having said that he “wondered what they would get out of the sweat they poured during the 2008 presidential campaign for President Banda who hails from chief Chikuwe of the Chewa people in Chipata”. Banda is not a Nguni. He is a mongrel (half Chewa half Nguni) from Malawi. When the Nguni arrived in the eastern province after fleeing from Shaka they subdued the men in the local tribe, Chewa. Then the Nguni impregnated all the Chewa women (including Banda’s grandmother) without taking any interest in the b*stards they sired. The Nguni attacked us (Bembas) in the north to try and sh*g our women. We kicked the Nguni sh*t out of them and they went back to the weak Chewa tribe and continued impregnating its women to this day.
I forgot to mention that the Nguni ate all the Chewa cattle and goats without any resistance from the men. They tried the same trick (to braii our meat) but we chased them back into the valley.
