Share

South Africa and Zambia’s CHAN second round, first leg qualifier will be played at Hunters Field stadium in Katlehong this weekend.

According to the South African Football Association (Safa), kickoff of the CHAN qualifier will be at 15:00 on Sunday at the venue east of Johannesburg.

And South Africa coach Simon Ngomane the team was preparing well for Sundays CHAN clash against Zambia.

“We know Zambia very well and we know their players, we must not forget that this is the country that defeated our senior national team in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match so we are familiar with their abilities. This is an opportunity for the selected players to showcase their skills to the country and this is the platform to do so,” Ngomane stated on Safa.net.

The two sides will play their return leg on June 5 to decide which side qualifies for the CHAN finals in Sudan next year.

  1. It involves only players plying their trade in the local leagues (in their home countries).

  2. Tukaba kukula ba RSA Coz their best Local players are traning with the Main team preparing for the world cup and they have got a freindly game on 23rd May, but am sure some will be in for the return match on 5th June coz they would have been dropped from the main team. VIVA Chipolopolo.

  3. Kwena kutusuuula Zoona. Throwing the game to Kathlehong of of places – at some some unknown stadium – like it is not such an important match. Baice muka badabwishe. Go Zed go.

  4. #3 thanks for educating us, i did not know too. Thanks for asking
    # 1. Now i know was getting confused with CHAN.

  5. Is the SA team really going to constitute players from the SA national soccer team? It is all a bit confusing considering that their very best are all busy preparing for the World cup. One would think they would love the opportunity for their full national team the play Zambia in the CHAN match as preparation for the world cup. I guess they would not want to do so and risk losing against Zambia as it would not do their morale and confidence any good. They are still celebrating their 4-0 weekend victory over lowly ranked Thailand. (105 Fifa rating). Their is completely no mention of the CHAN game in the SA media which I have been closely following.

  6. Ni strategy ba SAFA so that we cant support our boys becoz there is too much xenophobia in that area. I advise Zedians who intend to go there to be extra cautious. I will be there anyway to support our lads.
    Good luck **==
