Senior Private Secretary to the President Rapson Chilufya has advised former Defence Minister George Mpombo to take a break from attacking innocent people and make peace with people he has offended.
Mr. Chilufya who spoke in his personal capacity said Mr. Mpombo’s continued attack on the president, State house workers and other innocent people should not be allowed to go on without comments.
Mr Chilufya was reacting to Mr Mpombo’s statement issued in the Post newspaper of 16 May 2010.
He wondered why Mr. Mpombo has chosen to continue attacking him and the president when he voluntarily resigned from his position without giving any one reasons and advised him to reflect on his life.
Mr. Chilufya explained that the former defence minister referred to him as a mere male clerk and not a senior member of staff dismissing this as a statement meant to mislead the public.
He said Mr Mpombo’s statement is meant to demean the late president who appointed him to the position and the incumbent president for returning him as a senior member of staff at State House.
He said he should understand that he was appointed by the President to work with him as the Head of State can not work without the senior private secretary who is regarded as a bridge between the president and people including Mr. Mpombo.
And Mr Chilufya dismissed claims that the President only appointed people from Chipata adding that the former defence minister had deprived the Lamba people of a Cabinet Minister by resigning without giving reasons.
Mr. Mpombo’s remarks against the Senior Private Secretary were published in the Sunday Post newspaper dated 16 May 2010.
ZANIS
Iwe shut up you are a private secretary. Youve a rank of a civil servant and you are not supposed to be political!
Dear Mr.Chilufya,
Kindly understand that George Mpombo is a bitter, angry, petty, ungracious sore loser to the “Bitter End”. Mpombo’s confusion and blank shot outs are worsened by his unbridled ignorance, natural and dangerous incompetence his identity politics of failed family tree hegemony have been exemplifying. He is a classical case of a failure inappropriately rewarded at the expense of qualified Zambians. Expect nothing sensible but usual chauvinistic rants from this bitter and delusional counterfeit trapped in an imagined community where his is a longing for connectedness.
Mpombo again? No comment.
#2 Senior Citizen….if Mpombo is that bad, what does that say about LPM and RB who both saw quality in him to make him no. 3 in command for GRZ? Again I say ‘hate the game not the player’ Two wrongs dont make right….if Mpombo is wrong by issuing personal attacks on innocent people as we have read above, dont be personal as well on Mpombo otherwise both you and Mpombo will be one and the same.:-?:-?:-?
I think Mpombo has the right to say whatever he wants and this gives us some insight into the RB cabinet and the going ons! we should be praising people like him who gives up office on principle! He could have have been RB’s thing and ugly ass (like FTJ and Jail bird KK) for all we know but he did so that he can say wait he wants and good for hime and us!!
I am actually impressed how the lambas have progressed during Levy’s term. Good on you folks.
Mpombo lacks human intelligence and vitality expected of an exposed politician hence gormlessly talking in the tabloids without self introspection and realization that in such behavior, there are no political dividends. MMD affairs are managed in MMD and never in tabloid in editorials. Practically ruling MMD is the only democratic institution in this country. In its 18 years reign, the country has seen 3 democratically elected Presidents from different parts of the country consecutively emerging at national level as heads of state.
The ruling party thusfar is the only national tent of diversity and tolerance. MMD has functional communication channels, structures and representative leadership in all provinces, districts, wards, branches and chiefdoms. MMD is the only party with a national face and identity while PF is 93% a constituent of Sata’s personal and marital clans with all leadership slots “stuffed” not staffed by Sata single handedly. UPND is a tonga only president coronated circus club. To head UPND the prerequisite is to be a tonga native. This is why they unsystematically kicked out Bob Sichinga, Patrick Chisanga, Henry Mtonga, Kahaye and Sakwiba Sikota because these crucible patriots are not tongas. This is why MMD is the only enduring mass party that has lived the test of time for all Zambians.
In MMD everyone has a dream and opportunity to aspire, campaign, speak and win leadership of his interest and ability.NEC leaders and ordinary members can collectively settle and declare their preferences, but open democracy delivers a final verdict at the convention. Those who thrive on rubbish like Mpombo freely enjoy their own uninhibited barking space without intrusion. But such norms are alien in these titular one man misruled circus parties like PF and UPND ever distant from systemic democracy. E.G PF is Sata and Sata is PF. Death of Sata god forbid would be an instant inoculation or strangulation of PF because everything Pf evolves around his ego and tyrannical self. But in MMD when Chiluba is out, Mwanawasa is in and when Mwanawasa is dead, RB is in with NEC and cabinet.
YABA SENIOR CITIZEN IN THE HOUSE NAYA MUKULALA
Ba Senior citizen and madam Katie Good! Bloggers were interested in knowing your opinions on the Katele conviction yesterday. You were conspicuously absent from the blog
Katie Good/Sen.Citizen
I can live with Katie Good pro MMD postings but ba so-called Sen. Citizen OMG!!!!!!
BITTER GEORGE MPOMBO JAIL IS AWAITING YOU THAT MUCH YOU KNOW NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU BARK YOU KNOW YOUR DESTINY STOP HARASSING INNOCENT PEOPLE THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT YOU.IF YOU THINK YOU ARE THAT SPECIAL OR INFLUENTIAL WHY DON’T YOU FORM YOUR OWN PARTY OF LAMBAS LIKE MAZOKA DID ,MAYBE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CONTROL SOME PEASANTS OF NDOLA RURAL.GEORGE SADIST WHAT HAVE DONE SO FAR ABOUT CONSERVATION YOU PROMISED YOU WERE GOING TO SPEAR HEAD,HAS MALASHA BURNING DONE DOWN IN KAFULAFUTA AND HOW MANY TREES HAVE BEEN PLANTED SINCE YOU RESIGNED AS AS SO CALLED DEFENCE MINISTER?BOZA,BOZA,BOZA,NO MONEY ,NO MONEY……FOOLSHI GEORGE.
I am yet to see anyone counter Mpombo’s utterances with arguments that make sense. All I see is insults directed at him from people who don’t like his candor. Senior fimo fimo, can you for once tell the world why you hate certain people so deeply that you almost go into a feat?
Mpombo has the right to say what he says and, quite frankly, his remarks almost always turn out to be supported by facts more than the likes of Shikapwasha and his ilk, including the President himself. Does anyone remember the “tribalism brouhaha” not so long ago? Until ‘one Senior chief Mpezeni’ spoke out, everybody was ready to lynch Mpombo. But is anybody telling the Mpezeni to sh.ut up, NO!!!
RB’s claims that what the chief said vindicates him is as n.onsensical has Senior Citizen’s utterances.
What kind of drugs does ba senior citizen take? 😕
As usual Senior Citizen paso amashaina?? Today this gona be the show for MMD Caders i.e Senior Citizen, Katie Bad, Veteran & Mr Capitalist.
I don’t agree with Mpombo but I would not be so shallow to respond in the manner like that of Senior Citizen, Katie Good, Veteran and Mr Capitalist. Fellow bloggers, Senior Citizen, Katie Good, Veteran & Mr Capitalist are answering machines programmed to respond to any perceived attack on the MMD. As such what do you expect….as typical of computers… Garbage in, Garbage out! I blame the programmer of these machines( I suspect it is Mulongoti or Shikapwasha or William Banda). I rest my case!!
#10 Magnum, thanks for your comment. I do not usually make comments on matters that I have not understood or on which there is scanty information for me to make a reasonable analysis. In the case of Katele and his co-accused, what I have heard is that Katele was sentenced to 5 yrs imprisonment, some of his co-accused were given the same prison term but suspended. Given the information available to me, I do not understand why that is so, although I heard that the Magistrate said something about Katele not showing remorse, which suggests that his co-accused were sorry for their part but not Katele. However, if you want my honest opinion on law breakers: ALL who break the law should be punished regardless of their status or political affiliation. Continue……
Continued…If a person did commit a crime but the prosecution fails to prove the case or presents irrelevant evidence as in the case of Chiluba, our law requires that the accused be acquitted, and there is nothing political or Rupiah Bandish about it. Media stories, opinions and innuendos do not constitute evidence unless before a Kangaroo court.
#11, I am glad that you can tolerate my postings, which is a grudging way of saying that you enjoy them. I assure you that I do not carry an MMD card. I am motivated by the desire to counter-balance what I see as unfair bias against an elected government. Most of the bias is not backed by evidence but fuelled by a seemingly wounded media and a gullible public. As a strong believer in fairness, I will stand by the side of those who are criticized and insulted for no reason at all but the fact that that is what a certain editor wants us to believe. Moreover, whenever I ask what is the alternative leadership and why I should support it, no one has answered my question. Continue…
Continued…..In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, I believe that the PACT in particular cannot offer Zambia a better alternative, but something worse than what we have. I will therefore stick with the adage “better the devil you know than you don’t know”.
As for #16 Vitali, I meant to answer you but I have to use my little time today to respond to more sensible bloggers. Try next time, buddy.
