RB implores Namulambe, Mangani to Ignore detractors

President Rupiah Banda

President Banda has advised newly appointed Deputy Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Gabriel Namulambe and his Science and Technology counterpart Lameck Mangani to ignore people who are advising them to reject the appointments.

The President said Mr Namulambe and Mr Mangani should not listen to detractors but should focus on the bigger responsibility of serving Zambians.

Mr Banda said this at State House yesterday when he swore-in Mr Namulambe and Mr Mangani.

“Honourable Mangani and Honourable Namulambe, I say welcome back. I am sincerely happy that you have accepted the appointments I have made despite the fact that you are taking up appointments lower than that of Cabinet minister,” he said.

President Banda said Mr Mangani and Mr Namulambe are his colleagues and they have to continue working together as Government to address bigger challenges which affect all Zambians.

Mr Banda said he is convinced that even when Mr Mangani and Mr Namulambe accepted to be appointed Deputy Ministers, they considered the fact that they were going back into Government to serve and help to address various problems facing the country.

“I am also sure that there are many people who came to you and said do not accept. I think you should let those people stay where they are,” he said.

Mr Banda said since he dropped the two from Cabinet, he has never received any adverse reports about their reactions.

“And for this, I congratulate you. All the best and may God guide your work as you serve the people of Zambia,” he said.

And when swearing-in Pumulo Mundale as chief analyst for legal affairs at State House, President Banda said he is happy to welcome Ms Mundale to the family of State House staff and Government.

Mr Banda said he is sure that Ms Mundale will add value to the work being done at State House, particularly in the legal department.

President Banda said he is confident that Ms Mundale has the capacity to execute her duties diligently.
Mr Banda said it is particularly pleasing to him to have found a professional woman to work at State House.

“We are doing everything possible to ensure that there is a balance between men and women serving both here and in Government,” he said.

Sharp Shooter, people like u are just jealous of Mmembe u will never achieve 5% of what he has achieved. What re yr contributions to Zed from where u are? the is not perfect but plse give him a break!!!!

  2. Any decent leader would ve used to explain why he has re-appointed Namulambe whom he fired a few months ago.
Anyway as i said yesterday its about appeasment and what possible role Namulambe can play in Lambaland come 2011.

  3. Mpombo once said: By firing Namulambe RB had lost Lamba vote. So does this mean that RB has the vote once again. I would hate to be Mpombo right now.

I have nothing against M’membe and I was big fan of him but of late he has lost objectivity cos of his personal issues and uses the paper to sabotage govts like he did to LPM.I dont have to compare my achievements to that of M’membe cos he is not my standard and you are NOT God to say I will NEVER achieve even 5% of what he has done.Iam not M’membe’s age and I believe I will get what I really want in life given what I have achieved so far and that is a big individual contribution to my Zambia in some ways.

  5. The very brick that the builder had rejected made the corner!!!! Zedian politics are very interesting batini people!!! It is like rushing back to your own vomit and hungrily swallowing up all the stuff man!!!! I thot RB’s next best man was William Banda as seen from the man’s tolerance for WB’s violence against the innocent Zedians. The move by RB is not welcome in all forms.**==

  6. Plse bloggers see the re-appointment of Namulambe in its correct context. Its not about the country or GN ability to contribute Zed.but 2011.RB will do anything to secure 2011even if it means going back to his vomit.

By the way where are the french investers we were promised upon RB return from France?we were told they are coming the following week.

  7. #6; sharp shooter, I think I can confidently say that there are very few people with the kind of level headed, mature reasoning that you exhibited in your last posting in Zambia right now. Keep up the good work!!! or logic. People need to back their claims with facts: #2, to me it seems your M’Membe has reached his sell by date. Thats my humble opinion… could be wrong, but as pointed out elsewhere, his objectivity seems to have suffered along the way. I for one would not want to use him as a prototype against which to measure my achievements which I should hasten to say are not that many

  8. Fred Mmembe is nothing but a pawn being twisted and slammed on the chess board by the likes of the opposition. Mmembe thought he would ascend to power thru his tabloid and the moment he learnt he can not he resorted to evil tactics which landed him in jail. He published a fake story associated to a lawyer here in the states who does not exist. Zambians if you are intelligent as I thought, do you think the govt. would have Mmembe arrested and sent to prison for an article he just pasted in his tabloid? He was given chance to ask this “non existence” lawyer to show up and Mmembe failed to do so. He came up with that fake story to make money to pay for his house and cars. The guy is miserable and he is rumored to be gay.

  9. MMD Chief Bootlicker, you are f.o.o.li.sh. You just talk without facts, Where are you facts? Very immature and pathetic. Zed does not progress at the rate it should because of ba ngwele like you. You need to f****ken grow up. Mmembe has done much better than you

  10. Fred Mmembe is famous internationally through many journalist groups and freedom interests.
    Who is this Bootlicker turd?

  11. How does a failure get given another try?
Only three months ago the president sacked him for his “Legacy” questions.

In return for his silence in three months the dull president forgets the past.
    Or does he?

A vote is more important to Roo Pee Aaahh than morals.
    Recycled politicians or vote buying.

Only a blind cadre could be F ooled.

  12. Come 2011, on that D-Day, the imminent fateful day for mmd, the mighty 4 Ds come into effect-Disrupt Dismantle Defeat and Destroy mmd. With their bubbles burst and the carrot having suddenly stopped dangling, Boot licker, senior citizen and cohorts whom unfortunately have burnt so many bridges because of their menacingly, ferocious pro-incumbent propagandist spin-doctor demeanors, whose senseless insatiable vampirism appetite make them Zed public foes, traverses the following metamorphosis: Shock-grief-bewilderment-dejection and finally into oblivion( back to nothingness, worse than before)and become mere statistics.

  13. great points.Even if I wouldn’t really understand. We certainly have massive amount agreements.Hope your further articles
