There is leadership crisis in Zambia-Sishuwa

Share

Activist and Lecturer Sishuwa Sishuwa has charged that President Edgar Lungu’s silence ok let national issues has created a leadership crisis in the country.

Dr Sishuwa observed that the leadership vacuum is now allowing PF Minister’s to start campaigning for their own political ambitions.

He wrote on Twitter that, “What is the reason for Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu talking less, amidst the impending crises in the economic and health sectors? Are these really the actions of a man in charge? He has only made a single public appearance in the last one month,” Dr Sishuwa observed.

“His absence has created a leadership vacuum. Ministers are campaigning using press conferences to display competence in relation to the running of one’s ministry. The idea is to be seen that one is working and to endear oneself to the public, ahead of a possible leadership bid.”

He added, “When someone like Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo suddenly starts to say all the right things, such as distancing himself from Lusambo’s lawless antics and thanking the UPND for donating resources to the fight against COVID-19, then you know that something is brewing.”

  3. Hahaha what a joker . You think talking endlessly in front of camera and writing sill posts on Facebook like your demigod in upnd, is leadership? You must be a constipated sacrificial hippo. They say empty tins make a lot of noise while wise leaders are effective delegaters. There is a reason we have a medically qualified minister of health and his exceptional support staff to keep the nation informed. If the president takes over each ministry you will say that he is a dictator. When he decentralizes power you still complain. You are a dog and so is anyone who sides with the writer . Kz

  5. Edgar isn’t a leader, he’s just a big buyer and you know how popular big buyers are in some circles and how unpopular in others. So for those that are eating well they’ll always praise him as the greatest leader but they will shun him the very day he’ll walk out of Plot 1, then those of us who are seeing things clearly and what’s coming to him will say ahaa! twekuudza mambala

  6. The leadership crisis only exists in your head Sisure sisure. Having a different leadership style does not mean silence. The Minister is communicating daily and the President is communicating weekly. Strategic Ministries are also providing information in their sectors. In my view this is perfect at this stage. Even in war, you don’t have a general leading a platoon for a battle. You have Leautebants, then Captains, the depending on the scale, you begin to have Colonels and Majors commanding the war even battles.

  7. Chipuba wa Chipuba wants PF to run like UPND were everything is about HH. Your facebook social media president will be crying Hagain in 2021 for being popular on the Internet and not with the voters that have no access to Internet.

  8. its a style of leadership which must be respected by all well meaning Zambians. it does not mean that when you are a leader, you must speak on every issue at hand, you can keep quite and map strategies on way forward. you can delegate responsibilities. those who think that the President is not working must wait for their time to be president.
what has happened to the so called learned people to suggest a leadership crisis when there is NO CRISIS AT ALL.. Zambians appreciate your own leaders with or without challenges for we all have challenges in homes and work places. at the lecturers work place , they have issues can we say they have a crisis? lets not copy and paste measures taken by other countries to solve our own problems NO. soon Zambia’s model or approach to covid management…

  9. Its not that there is a leadership crisis, there is simply no Leadership. Just check price of mealie, exchange rate madness, reserves eaten up, inflation rising every day, second worst performing currency in the world, agro dealers not paid, University and council workers rarely paid on time, abuse of Public order act, people struggling to have three meals a day, so called leaders being lawless by whipping people. So what is there to be proud of, And for the avoidance of doubt , I am PF but a very realistic and objective one

  10. Agreed with you Shishuwa. UPND has incompetent opposition acumen, people like yourself and Mwitwa are watching from your armchairs. Charity begins at home. Rescue UPND from Trumpian “ leadership “ and vacate your armchairs.

  11. There is definitely intellectual crisis in Zambia. Kids who don’t know how Governments run will wake up every day and yap like shishuwa.
This kid thinks Governments operate like a ka ntemba. Minister of Health is doing a good job; Minister of Home Affairs is doing a job; Minister of LSK, Lusambo, is doing a good job; Sweet Dora, Information Minister, good job; Finance Minister Bwalya Ng’andu; great job. Mama Wina Iron Lady, good job; Mama Phiri Minister of Disasters, good job above all POTROZ ECL excellent leadership.

PF sycophants are shocking and these are the low lifes advising and leading us as a nation.

Look around you (you can afford to watch International media)… in a COVID-19 crisis that has brought the entire world to its knees, every country is looking up to their national leaders for inspiration. In every progressive country, the national leader (a PM or President or whatever) is providing daily briefings alongside the chief medical officer of that country. This is to assure your citizens not to despair, not lose morale and to provide some kind of solidarity with those directly affected by the crisis… the people who are contracting the virus; those dying and their families; those losing their jobs. If you are a leader worth your salt and you go into hiding during a crisis like this,…

…If you are a leader worth your salt and you go into hiding during a crisis like this, when do you think you will stand with your people to be counted? Imagine in a family home, a father figure vanishes in a crisis like this.
Where I live the national leader has media briefings about the virus together with the chief medical doctor. The same is replicated at the state (provincial government level)… and my company the CEO addresses us via video every week and she chairs a committee put together to manage the COVID-19. Where is your Lungu? He will only show up when he needs votes from you.

COVID-19 Virus is almost like a war; like a world war (3) and real leaders are leading their people through this crisis! What an incompetent, c0rrupt douche Lungu is!

You could put up yourb points without calling people names like sacrificial Hippos, sacrificial Kapenta whatever you mean by sacrificial. You are a Leadeer right? Why not keep your comments civil? Don’t you think Leeaders should not sink low as to use unpalatable language? There should be some class in how you express yourself. Someonme reading your comments will mistake you for an ordinary disgruntled citizen. Yours is to reemain calm even when others use bad language beecause you should be at a higher level and not sink low to the level of a vulgar oprdinary citizen.

Please provide Leadership and help adviseee anyone to keep the discussion civil. The aim is positive contribution so we advocatee for a better Zambia. It should not be a fully-fledged fight.

  15. Very true, all of a sudden Kampyongo who has been a thug through out this PF reign is sounding Presidential. Kampyongo has never been a voice of reason so his sober reaction to Bowmans reactions has shocked many.
ECL is definately sleeping because Ministers disagreeing in Public means there is a leadership vacuum.

  16. A true academic will have a comprehensive view. No leadership means there are no leaders in ruling party opposition or even non government agencies. Yes just look around and observe the likes of Kambwili, Mmembe, Kalaba, HH, Lungu. None of them are leadership material

  18. CNN) The US is monitoring intelligence that suggests North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, is in grave danger after undergoing a previous surgery, according to a US official with direct knowledge.
A second source familiar with the intelligence told CNN that the US has been closely monitoring reports on Kim’s health.”

PF administration will never allow something like this because no transparency. but quick to shut the prime TV.

  19. Thank you Dr Sishuwa, incoming President of Zambia. Very sensible leadership, certainly far better than all those dreamers masquerading as leaders on the political stage right now.

  20. @Daniel chisebwe, you are so dull so much that not only is this post not about prime TV but you think CNN is a North Korean News agency. CNN is an American News agency and North Korea media regulation is so bad that only few websites are accessible in North Korea. There is totally no media freedom in North Korea. I know people are drinking from home but let us not blog high.

  22. I like it when news on ZNBC TV does not start with President ECL and his pictures splashed all over from start to end. This is where we have come from. The president was the news. I am not surprised with the criticism of ECL not appearing on TV every day because that is the way we are wired. By Zambian standards work means talking too much.

  23. “What is the reason for Zambia’s President Edgar Lungu talking less, amidst the impending crises in the economic and health sectors? Are these really the actions of a man in charge? He has only made a single public appearance in the last one month”…. As a lecturer I cant believe you don’t understand the delegation of leadership, much worse the poise that a leader needs to keep in the light of a panic situation. If ECL paints a picture to Zambia that he is panicking he will cause the whole nation to run chaotic.

  24. Hehehehe!
    Sishua has gone bonkers.
He should try joing mashabe band. Olo Amayenge. Nangu Lima jazz band oroo Masansu nangufye Mulemena band.
