Vice President George Kunda

Vice President George Kunda has pledged that government will build a High School in Kaniki area of Chifubu constituency to carter for the growing population of school going children in the area.

Mr Kunda said government is concerned with the plight of school going children who travel long distances in pursuit of higher education.

He said government will also consider building another high school within Chifubu Township because of the growing number of children in need of higher education in the constituency.

Mr Kunda said this during a campaign rally to drum up support for MMD candidate in the Chifubu parliamentary by-elections, Frank Ng’ambi at Kaniki Basic School this afternoon.

He said the pledge was not an empty political rhetoric but something that government will translate into reality by committing financial resources in the 2011 national budget.

He has since called on people of Chifubu to be weary of unrealistic political promises from the opposition.

  1. This is what Kunda said when campaigning during the Solwezi Central by-elections on 18/11/09

Mr Kunda has directed Solwezi Municipal Council to use the K6.5 billion paid by Kansanshi mine as land rates for improving service delivery in the district.
The Vice President was speaking when he addressed a rally at Mushitala Basic School to drum up support for MMD candidate Albert Chifita
Speaking at the same rally Education Minister Dora Siliya said K42 million from the Constituency development fund has been allocated to for the electrification of Mushitala basic school.

  2. There is a GRZ employee who is assisting with the wedding of Mr. Sata’s niece in Ndola. This gentleman is being harassed and accused of organizing Mr. Sata’s impending rally for the Chifubu by election. I ask is this the way we going to live in Zambia? Are going to shun our relatives because they belong to other organizations? Mr. Chilambwe is also threatening Chifubu residents of withdraw of GRZ funding if they vote for the opposition. Is this normal in a country where all citizens pay taxes to the good of the country?

  3. What an A.S.S.H.O.L.E, do you think you are dealing with 5 year olds. Come to reality and debate real issues. For the past 20 years of M.M.D you have failed to build infrustructure, even the existing ones are dilapidated, schools, colleges, hospitals, government departments etc, etc. Your A.R.V’s seem to to be giving you delusions and grandeur. WAKE UP GEORGE!

  4. Father bwalya, aka deja vu. As relatives of SATA do not bore us with unecessary Sata headlines, why should his daughter seek govt assistance? Most of us marry without having govt assistance. I always new your over eager support of Sata, came from some where deep hoping for a personal gain, today you have exposed yourself you pf cadre.

  5. @3 Deja Vu, let them threaten as every day is not sundays. I also wonder why people flock to such useless rallies by Veep? This guy is making a promise when he should have made it 2yrs ago. I wish we are able to give him an ultimatum -say before the CHifibu elections, he must ensure the funds are released? These guys must not only take us for a ride for ever, No! mwe bantu. Just near by in DRC, the govt has put in place measures to ensure the resourses the country is endored with trickle down to the common man in the village.A mere operator who has never been in classs can get about $800, a supervisor gets about $1700 & a manager gets close to $3500 a month. There are no capitalist investors like chinese or indians. But the country is still seeing investors flocking in. I see my fellow…

  6. cont..from 6. …zambian engineers getting close to $1000 a month, attracting 30% tax when in DRC its just about 20%. Its like GK is saying that this time around we will not steal the money but we will build a school so that you vote for us. We are entitled to seeing development with our hard earned money. I feel bad that after spending 4,5yrs at school, someone should be treated for nothing in his own country by foregners. In DRC, its a mandate that all employees must be natives, in exception of certain skills that are not common to the country and in such cases they import such from the neighboruring counrties which zambia is a beneficiary. For us, we let chineses bring their prisoners as well as indians to come & infiltrate our nation when we can do that. FQM has just been taken on by…

  7. enginneers getting $1000 attracting 30% tax when its only 20% in DRC. Its like GK is saying wthis time around we will not steal the money but if you vote for us now and we see the results, we will build a school for you. I rest my case.

  8. The people if Chifubu must demand that George opens an account and deposite the money he is talking about or for depositing the Money. George is very SICK. He is has been VERY SICK. He is having head aches and dizzness of late and has impared jugment. Forget about red lipped George Kunda, he secured Chiluba’s conviction and now failing to enforce it in Zambia. These people are RB & George are Mad.

  9. Forget about this sickly V.P. Look at todays post:
“KCM has outsourced the concentrator at Nchanga to U & M, the schools like Konkola Trust School are already gone, if you look at Fitwaola Open Pit, they have outsourced, they have brought in a South African firm, meaning that employees who used to work at the open pit will now be contractors,” Munyenyembe said.
“At the hospitals, we know that they are bringing in Indian doctors to come and run them. Of course, at first they will pretend that they will keep the Zambians who work there but eventually, they will be frustrated and forced to leave while those that will remain will get very low salaries,”
“These are the issues that we expect MMD I.DIOTS to be focussing on, and we have realised MMD doesn’t have the mental capacity…

  10. @5 Boring bloggers You are just an imbecile who changes his name to show that there different MMD supporters on the blog. I am not PF or a relative to Mr. Sata. What I am talking about is the infringement on an individual’s right to free association. You call yourselves in the rotten MMD as intellectuals and yet you cannot even the basic tenets of human rights, I am 100% sure you were in Unip when we were risking our jobs and lives to bring MMD in power. By the way I am a self sustaining person who unlike you don’t have to eat George Kunda’s feaces in order to survive

  11. #10 Father Bwalya, I have exposed you today. Insults will not deter me from exposing Sata’s close relatives who want to come in and plunder our economy. As a man of God you should not use such words. Today I have exposed you, for those bloggers who want I can even prove this by showing you the number from which this post originated. Father Bwalya, aka Deja Vu, now people know who the person giving us reports from Copperbelt is. That you want to act like an unbiased person kanshi mulibana bakwa Sata ba Father Bwalya.

  12. Today it is Dejavu’s identity which is in question, Senior Citizen rests today hahahaha. Whether Dejavu is Father Bwalya or not, my dear #11, it changes nothing, in any case its not anything new on this blog that Dejavu supports Sata, just look through his posts you will find that his allegiance is to Sata.Any article on Sata Dejavu will come out in arms to defend Sata. And if he is indeed father Bwalya, how unfortunate for a Roman catholic priest to use such language, my suggestion is whether Dejavu is Father Bwalya or not, kindly apologize to #11, as the language used is not fit for the person you are accused of, or indeed an upright individual utilizing a public blog.

  13. #12 Jooste – I will not apologise until you MMD guy apologises for calling me Fr Bwalya. Infact the fella is in hospital with kidney problem. You are very childish in your guesses. I support the opposition not Sata. MMD to go to helll

  14. He forgot to add the ‘ice cream desert’ that every Chifubu resident will have.
And every school going child will also have shoes….IF they vote for MMD this time round. It did not happen before because the MMD was not in power but it will now!!!

  15. #9 Mukabe come 2011
This should not surprise you. That is how a lot of multinational companies operate. For example the BP saga in the Gulf is one example. Outsourcing reduces long term costs such as pensions, PAYE etc. In the UK, even government and state departments do the same. Hospitals and Schools out source services like laundry, waste disposal, portering and catering. Now even surgical operations are out sourced to Sout African clinics!

  16. In the good old days of Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines and Roan Select Trust, the mines did not run certain institutions until KK was misdirected to merge everything, including the marketing of copper! If this had not happened, even after nationalisation, we would not have come to that pitiful end.

  17. #13 I think perhaps Mr Dejavu you have been given a taste of your own medicine, can you honestly say you have never accused any blogger here of being who they are not, can you say you have never accused Seniour Citizen of being Ben Kangwa or Mr Capitalist as being Nevers Mumba without any proof. You see there is what is called Karma, what goes around comes around. This is perhaps a lesson for many others that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. If you are really not Father Bwalya, do not bother with getting frustrated, the only reason I said you should apologize was because your language was too strong for a priest or non priest. Clearly Mr Blogger #11 has touched a raw nerve, you are over charged to even see amicable reason, or one who is trying to quench a fire.

  18. #17 The Saint- You bring up every interesting topic. Am a product of the mine townships. Correct me where I am wrong. When the mines were run by RCM and NCCM they actually invested some money in our community (African) by way of up grading our houses. The burnt brick houses, double storey and semi detached house in Chingola were actually built by the mine before independence. Even schools like Chikola in Chingola, Kantanshi in Mufulira Chiwala in Ndola and Mukuba were built by the same mine owners to cater for African school children. All the sradia you see in mine townships except for Arthur Davis were constructed by the mines who actually sponsored the teams that used and are still using these grounds. To me the biggest problem was caused by KK’s refusal to buy drilling rigs, LHD…

  19. Mr. boring bloggers.
What is wrong in supporting Mikaeli? Let DE jav be he talks sense except for the insults that he has spat on you. your diagnosis was not right any way and father Bwalya is also innocent he just speak for the poor people like me and must make a promise that wether I be a relative to SATA or not I shall support him.
De ja Ve continue and if Boring blogger is bored with your blogging you have me to read your blogging.
