Former Vice President Enock Kavindele said there was need for people of Northwestern Province to work together as a united force if meaningful development was to be recorded in the region.
Mr. Kavindele said the province had all it took to create wealth for the people hence the need to strengthen unity by speaking with one voice as this would foster development in the province.
He was speaking during the ongoing first conference of Northwestern Development Council in Solwezi today.
Mr. Kavindele said people’s focus in the province should be wealth creation and safeguarding resources available in the region for the benefit of posterity.
He said people should also shift their energies to working towards employment creation for the youths and to also ensure that would be investors incorporate local communities in their business undertaking.
He said the province needed concerted effort and unity of purpose to move forward and to derive maximum benefit from its natural resources.

The Mineral wealth are for all Zambians. But You are right, the Mining companies in NWProvince should plough something back to improve the infrastructure and Job creation in NWP. Copperbelt is a typical example that has seen benefits accrued due to mining activities. Why not NWP as well.

Northwestern province will never develop not until the government does its role by working on the road and power period. we will need a government which has stamina to do that not mmd and the current MPs are useless.

If Kavindele was in Solwezi yestaday,why didn’nt he show up at Painet Mulambisha’s Funeral to show his commitment to the People of N/wstern.Not Only Kavindele but all MPs in N/Western in our Province did show up,especially Kabinga Pande.With this type of behaviour,we should not expect much even in development.

The mistakes made on the Copperbelt MUST not be repeated in NWP. There should be EQUAL pay for all. BAN the expatriate term to mean more money for others while the citizens of the land( irrespective of their skin colour) get peanuts!!!!!
kavindele enoch chipalo has held very senior positions in govt including that of VP then he had teeth to bite. he could have mobilized NW prov a long time but then he was pre occupied with the wealth he enjoyed at woodgate holdings. Kavindele may be on hard times but he is still on top of his game and is doing much better then a lot of pipo i know. He is quite sharp and our country would do well to benefit from his intelligence and experience.
Certainly he made mistakes before and we all have but he has made sense here and we should learn from his many sucesses and failures.
