Suspected ruling Patriotic Front(PF) cadres have been accused of ransacking and destroying a makeshift stand of Mercy Chalwe, the woman famed for publicly displaying United Party for National Development (UPND) chitenge material on her Woodlands Makeshift stand
According to UPND, the incident happened yesterday afternoon when allegedly 8 Rosa buses laden with ruling PF cadres wielding machetes and other offensive weapons invaded and ransacked her makeshift stand, making it the second time PF cadres have destroyed her merchandise and erased her makeshift stand.
According to reports, Ms Chalwe accused PF Area Member of Parliament(MP) Margaret Mwanakatwe for ordering the demolishing of her stand, which is located in Lubwa ward of Woodlands Constituency after various earlier attempts to demolish her stand failed to make her stop displaying UPND regalia on her stand.
Ms Chalwe, who said that she learnt about her attack by the PF from the posts shared on social media, alleged that Ms Mwanakatwe ordered the PF Lubwa ward youth chairperson to sort her out after UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema paid her a visit, the previous day, adding that she is living in constant fear of her life, saying that there has been numerous death threats from known senior PF officials.
And asked on why the PF has continually been threatening to kill her, Ms Chalwe stated that the ruling party are not happy that she continues to display UPND regalia on her makeshift stand especially the one bearing the portrait of Mr Hichilema.
“They are wearing ECL 2021,regalia but want us to stop wearing our party regalia with a portrait of our leader HH a man we are all proud of because of his dignity
UPND President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday paid a courtesy call at her stand where she is selling vegetables to feed her family.
Am very enoyed with these foools and what they are turning our country into. I feel this is getting out of hand. Cant stand this.

Being UPND supporter meant that she will not be allowed to trade in any market hence her resorting to street vending.
The woman’s financial problems are now over. I’m sure she will become a full-time farmer with a couple of cattle to look after.
This is Lazy Lungu’s Zambia…if he had brains he would go to this woman even if she is dressed in HH regalia and apologise it would be a major campaign coup but Lazy is too dull and full of self importance.
In a country with a lawless party in government, expect that can kind of savagery.
But take heart, we Zambians of every stripe are working hard to remove PF from power. Whatever it takes, however much it costs. Mark my words: Mr. Clueless, lawless and Incompetent Lungu will not be in office After August 2021. Him and his arrogant ignorant imbecilic PF will be swept away, perhaps even before then.Zambia will be saved from the current destructive hands and birdbrains of Lungu and ignoramus Kapyongo, Mwila, Phiri, Lusambo, etc.
She should look forward to increasing sales as a result of this. I’m off to look for her. Such decent, humble and courageous women need a helping hand and it’s on the way.

The only way UPND will show solidarity to this brave woman is for them to ask all their members this coming weekend to put on their party regalia in public to shame whoever has done this cowardly act.

It is clear that political regalia breeds violence as some people can never be schooled to respect those with opposing views or belonging to a different political party. Mind you this is not just a PF issue but all political parties involved. Cadres are not tolerant to their opponents even though they should respect and tolerate those with opposing views. I wish that political regalia could be forbidden and erased from our society. It is a pity that people can be attacked just for wearing a T-shirt with a certain emblem. No matter how much I support any particular political party I would never accept to wear their clothing and logos, it is really asking for trouble especially with so many uncivilised cadres and politicians alike.
PF has gone the way of MMD under RB! MMD was building roads also under RB but it was the untamed cadre hooliganism that cost RB the 2011 Elections. If there is one thing Zambians frown upon is this kind of mistreatment of a defenseless poor widow trying to make a living under the harsh PF Economy. Why is it right for PF to wear their PF Chitenges and wrong for this woman to wear a Chitenge of her choice? Only animals without tails behave this way! Take these as the lask kicks of a dying horse!
