The Patriotic Front (PF) says Party president, Michael Sata, was already a politician when Second Republican President, Frederick Chiluba, was still a bus conductor.
Party Spokesperson, Given Lubinda, told QFM in a telephone interview that Mr Sata was already Branch Chairman for UNIP when Dr Chiluba was a bus conductor.
Mr Lubinda was reacting to Lusaka Province MMD Chairman, William Banda, who was quoted in the press saying people like Mr Sata should stop insulting Dr Chiluba and instead thank him for exposing them to the world.
Mr Lubinda explained that the PF leader was Governor of Lusaka when Dr Chiluba was nowhere near the helms of power.
Mr Lubinda saidMr Banda must be out of his mind to insinuate that Dr Chiluba is the one who exposed Mr Sata to the world.
He said it is everyone’s knowledge that Mr William Banda is still a legal deportee to Malawi who owes his stay in Zambia to late President Levy Mwanawasa.
He added that Mr Banda owes his freedom of movement to President Rupiah Banda.

The truth of the matter is that , at the time Chiluba was a bus conductor , Sata was a police constable. When Sata became a governor, Chiluba was chairman of ZCTU. Both of them have a track record. In this case the misguided guy is Given Lubinda. Both Sata and Chiluba contributed to wellness of Zambians in some way and both contributed to poverty bieng experienced in Zambia now because of their greedyness.

I thought that Sata was supposed to be pro-poor? Why should it matter if Chiluba was a bus conductor? Why is Sata now insulting the people who most support him – the urban poor? The Issue is the Time ba SATA was Police Constable, that post was very powerful. No African was allowed to asume managerial posts and we needed people to be inside the system to spy on Bamwisa. Even Chiluba, he could have been ONE. The Problem is the Police had and has rules up to today. No one who is 1metre tall can Join the Foce. Hence Chiluba was not going to be admitted on account of tallness or lack of it.
Sata was never a UNIP Branch Chairman when Chiluba was a Bus conductor.The first time Sata became Branch Chairman of UNIP in Bauleni was after Independemce.Remember that Sata spent most of his time as a police constable during struggle for Independence.Kaunda appointed Sata as District Governor for his talkativeness and nothing more.However Sata later proved than other than being talkative,he could also deliver.It was therefore during his tenure as Governor for Lusaka later to be retitled Senior Governor that Lusaka City Council bought Buses.These buses have been run down and never replaced after his departure.
