Rupiah’s speech to the NA was empty – PF

Share

The Patriotic Front has described President Rupiah Banda’s speech to the National Assembly on Friday as empty.

Patriotic Front Youth Committee Secretary, Eric Chanda, told QFM that the president’s speech did not give any hope to the Zambian youth.

He said the President’s speech failed to outline how the MMD government is going to create jobs for the youth in the country from 2011 and beyond.

Mr Chanda said the President’s Speech means that the MMD government has no agenda for the youth in the country, adding that Zambian youths should now realize that the MMD government has run out of ideas on how to improve the well being of the youth.

He called on the youth movement countrywide not to make a mistake of voting for the ruling party because doing so would be suicidal.

Mr Chanda added that the PF has a policy to develop youth industrial zones in to create employment for Zambian youths, and to decongest the major cities in the country.

And Party Spokesperson, Given Lubinda, said there is nothing new in President Banda’s commitment to allocating 30 percent of land to women.

Mr Lubinda said the President should have talked about whether his government has achieved the 30 percent allocation of land to women as opposed to talking about how his government is committed to land allocation to women by 30 percent.

He said the 30 percent land allocation to women is outdated because even late President, Levy Mwanawasa, talked about the same thing in 2004.

Mr Lubinda noted that the 30 percent land allocation to women is no longer a new policy because Zambians now are expecting to see this policy which was initiated by Dr Mwanawasa implemented.

And Mr Lubinda said the party did not want to hear President Banda talk about how decentralization policy is in Zambia.

He sid what was expected of the President is when the dissolution of power would take place in the country.

Mr Lubinda was speaking in an interview.

Yesterday, President Rupiah Banda addressed the Fifth Session of the Tenth National Assembly where he highlighted a number of programmes which his government intends to do in the coming year.

He also said in an unexpected circumstance campaigned as his speech was about to end, sending the opposition Members of Parliament in the house to uncontrollable uproar.

  1. How i wish you can spend time opposing and elaborating how your party will do things differently. zambians need your manifesto and agenda. What kind of opposition party is this?

  2. Hehehehehe, as if they have anything to offer! PF, that was not an empty speech. His Excellency President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, current occupant of Plot 1, is implementing the MMD manifesto, and not the PF or Sata manifesto. If PF comes to power in 2021 you will have your chance to implement your 90 days manifesto too. Until then bo Lubinda ni bo Chanda, you are well advised to use your time productively by learning from those who know.

  3. Years on under the hospitality of Zambians this Pashitun taliban Rasheed Giftless Lubinda’s knee-jerk reactions remain of a deluded pinhead in vanity and hatred picked from those madrassa schools. Not amuzing because hatred and fanaticism are virtues in his home country of Pakistan and Kashmir where he trips every year.If a simple party convention has failed you for 10 years as PF only promulgating an alien culture of one man appointing tyranny, say you what on national issues? hate it or love it the Zambia of today remains allergic to domestic violence and Decision 2011 is not for faint heated. Those will clogged hearts surving on inserted pace metals may just have their insertions snap off and check out on the campaign trail without a second evacuation this time around.

  4. Decision 2011 is not for faint hearted. Those will clogged hearts surving on inserted pace metals may just have their insertions snap off and check out on the campaign trail without a second evacuation this time around.

  5. What is the exact number of non-Bembas in PF? For a party that wishes to rule the country in 2011 should they not be representative of the country as a whole?

  6. Given Lubinda You can not manage your own home, how can you manage national issues. 30% land to the women- this process is frustrated by you. you gave yourself a big piece of land where ypou belt Namakau Hse. Shame!!! somay pieces of land given to you by Timmoth Hakuyu then Town Clerk, a small holding in libala south and so many and yet you want to pretend to be speaking for the poor.
As regards the President’s speach, as Zambias we understand the role of the opposition in a civillised society as well as the useless role of the Zambian Opposition parties such as PF. We therefore don t expect any kudos from you but from serious Zambians

  7. How does chanda expect youth economic development when Sata is equally old. These guys do not have an agenda for the youths but their accompolices. Thats why RB doesnt have any plan except for women of which reason we know. But still his energy to champion their cause diminished sometime back. To attain What Mr Chanda says entail youths taking care of themselves. Forexample, old vehicles do get phased out with time. Its time to phase out these old Vehicles(RB, Sata, Munkombwe, VJ &Scot). They have caused political constipation to the youths.

  8. #5
Good question, but what do you expect in a political party where Sata as president single handedly picks who he wants to be in his Central committee. Bishop Duffy and the Catholic Chuch do not see anything wrong with this? Sata is a worst triballist and dictator not to entrust power with. Zambia is safe uder the able leadership of H.E Banda

  9. Guys in Zambia how much is petrol / ltr now. Here we go again the next development will be an increase on bus fares. Good job MMD militias.

  10. Chiluhainde you have asked:

What is the exact number of non-Bembas in PF?

Answer: Though a northerner myself i feel embarrassed with the fact that PF’s ethnic representation is 96.5% northern with 4.5% a shared representation of foreigners like Gay Scott, Giftless Rasheed Lubinda, Gay team leads like Ruff Shenton, William Harrington and those related to Sata through his batardization of children everywhere. The likes of Winter Kabimba are nephews with the rest being blind sycophants of personality cult. But understand that us the bemba are not tribalists those being damaged by that Bisa satana from Mpika with his brothers in-law the Mpundu brothers as pf pharisees of Genocide.

  11. PF Chief Spokesperson:
And Mr Lubinda said the party did not want to hear President Banda talk about how decentralization policy is in Zambia. He said what was expected of the President is when the dissolution of power would take place in the country.
Mr Lubinda was speaking in an interview.

WHY,WHY,WHY,HOW,HOW,HOW CAN ZAMBIANS PROUDLY SUPPORT THIS SHAM OF A PARTY? SHOULD THE PF BE MORE INTERESTED IN THE WELFARE OF ZAMBIANS…BUSHE THERE’S NO OTHER PARTY WITH A FULL-FLEDGED AGENDA SURELY???

  12. #13 dont pretend that you are a notherner!! because notherners are not tribalists like yourself !!! People from the north have all rights to decide which party to join. No one, not even you can stop them !!! are you bitter to see how united people fom nothern P can be?? Go and Hung!! the fact is northern people are not cowards. They will always react in unity against any foolish leader such as your Banda!!

Before independence, Northeners united and fought for mother Zambia while some Provinces where signing agreements with the colonialists. Northern province province produced some of the great leaders Zambia will never have in the likes of KK, Kapwepwe, Kapasa Makasa.. so what are u talking about!! please leave northern province alone!! Rest in peace!!

  13. LUSAKA (Reuters) – Zambia will make fuel prices uniform across the country, to cut the cost of doing business in remote areas and boost rural development in Africa’s largest producer of copper.
    #12
The southern African nation’s energy regulator said on Saturday that petrol will cost 7,639 kwacha per litre, regardless of where it is sold.

Previously the price of petrol and other fuel was higher in remote areas, due to the distance from the country’s only petroleum refinery.

  14. The price of diesel will be set at 6,999 kwacha per litre and kerosene at 5,008 per litre, the Energy Regulation Board said.

The changes, which go into effect at midnight, will mean an 8.9 percent decrease in the price of petrol in the regional capital furthest from the refinery, the regulator said.

In the area closest to the refinery, petrol prices will rise 2.3 percent, it said.

  15. Zambia in May raised the price of fuel by an average 13 percent following another increase of 15 percent in January and the ERB attributed the hike to higher global prices.

  16. #12 Msana wa chipuba you should get your facts right before you try and twist facts in the same manner as your vuvuzela paper. Please try and dig deeper before presenting your propaganda trash on this forum. If the party that you support is full of good intentions for the country why do you have to twist facts or paint half truths in order to fit in with your myopic hatred of RB and your Bemba tribalism?

  17. #15 Yes Bembas can choose what party to support, equally northerners who are not Bemba and Zambians from other parts of the country can choose not to support a party that routinely excludes them. Who wins in such a scenario? What is the percentage of Bembas as regards the Zambian population?

  18. SATA FOR LIFE !!! SATA FOR LIFE!! SATA FOR LIFE!!! THE MAN IS JUST GREAT, HE HAS OFFERED THE BEST OPPOSITION ZAMBIA WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE. WETHER HE BECOMES PRESIDENT OR NOT SATA WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HIS STAND TO SPEAK FOR THE POOR ZAMBIAN AND HIS STANCE TO REMIND ZAMBIANS THAT THE ONLY COUNTRY THEY HAVE IS ZAMBIA.

LOOK AT THE SUBSTANDARD BUILDINGS BEING CONSTRUCTED IN LUSAKA TOWN BY CHINESE AND INDIANS, VERY SHAMEFULL, SATA CONDEMS THEMS!! THOSE ARE WAREHOUSES AND DO NOT ADD BEAUTY TO THE CITY, YOU FOOLS!!! YOU EVEN CALL THEM WEST GATES..RUBISH!!!!! WITHOUT STRONG LEADERS SUCH AS THE GREAT SATA, ZAMBIA WIL NEVER CHANGE!!! HOW DO YOU PICK AN IDLE I.D.I.O.T LIKE BANDA AS YOUR PRESIDENT!! CONTINUE SLEEPING WHILE OTHERS PROGRESS!!!

  19. # 20 percentage of bembas compared to other tribes is very high because Bembas are politicians by birth and their influence is very high. They are not tribalists and so they marry women from any tribe and Bemba women got married to any tribe in zambia, hence, their influence can not be underestimted by any politician!!! how about that??

  20. # 17-19 I excuse you becuase you dont know anything about world business of fossil fuels just like your ignorant president!! continue with your ignorance!!! I just feel for mother zambia, you are being ruled by a president whose vision is to win an election rather than to eradicate poverty.

  21. What do you expect from the opposition party- only opposition of course. I feel pity for Micheal Chilufya SATA my brother and his leutenants (Lubinda and the man who is not so Scotish after all) for all they have to do is oppose and oppose, the day they will stop opposing they will have no job. Sata has tried to be a consultant for RB but that position is not vacant as we can see for ourselves. So my advice to SATA is keep on opposing because this will leave no room for you to come up with an agenda for Zambia. How will the youth program create jobs for the youth? Send them to rural Areas? ask KK about that. The response by SATA to this speech was predictable. HH seems to be more carefull than our snake (Cobra).

  22. # 15 VJ – Your days are numbered,

You are shameless in exposing your ignorance haaah? What is this by a Bemba loyal *****?

GBM said ‘Lozis for Western province and a Bemba for Kasama.’

GBM was speaking today (Monday) in Kasama on radio Mano between 12 and 12; 45 hours.

He said MMD candidate Burton Mugala is a foreigner from Moyombwe in Isoka district near Malawi.

  23. Michael Sata in Mansa says “President Chiluba, Chungu, Kabwe and team are suffering on fake corruption charges at the hands of Levy Mwanawasa because they are bembas” He vowed to get Chungu back to Zambia on Saturday after winning election and would drop all charges.

    What is this you i.d.i.o.t?

Also remember him calling Lozis and North Westerners as people of ifitundu he would deport to Angola?

  24. We can forgive you for now. We know you are in panic mood so for now its ok.

The govt of president Rupiah Banda has scored big and you have been caught off guard. Whilst you were insulting in the PF vuvuzela, the govt was rigorously delivering development to some sectors of the nation. We understand your bitterness because with the developments of bumper harvest, 2016 schools, built and upgraded hospitals, roads, railways, single digit inflation and falling food prices to name a few, the MMD is guaranteed of a landslide victory.

The other developmental plans of the govt will also benefit many from Women to even Zambians in the diaspora who want to take part in development.

    We can understand your panicking.

  25. #26 YOU HAVE ALSO FORGOTEN TO INCLUDE THE TRIBAL SENTMENTS WE GET FROM YOUR TONGA PARTY KNOWN AS UPND…..YOU TONGAS AND LOZIS ARE THE WASTE TRIBALISTS IN ZAMBIA. YOU ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE INTRODUCED TRIBALISM IN ZAMBIA AND YOU WILL SEE HOW DAMAGING IT IS!!! YOU WANTED IT AND SO IT HAS COME! LET US WAIT AND SEE!!

  26. #21VJ, YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED, i just wonder why your mother didn’tabort you but went on to sire a small man like you with a quarter sized brain.man if sata is a hero to you he cant be to normal thinking citizens like us,all the nonsense you attribute to him are as a result of your ignorance.his has blinded you with his cheap talk.and owing to a small brain that you have you can tell weather what he says is attainable or not.so you **** of and remain as cheap as you are

  27. President Banda punctuated his speech with light moments:

“ The Government would rather empower women than beat them,” President Banda said much to the amusement of the House as all eyes rested on Kasama Central MP Geoffrey Mwamba.

  28. RB’s speech was rhetoric..all crap and rehearsed..we are tired of hearing the same speech every year,,we need to change govt!

  29. #22 Perhaps the reason why so many Bemba women marry men from other groups is because Bemba men are s.hit at everything they do? You have to wonder why these women go outside to find a marriage partner. Maybe it is because most Bemba men are like GBM?

  30. You MMD pieces of crap, what Chanda has mentioned is that the fuel prices have gone up or can’t you see theyve, when there suppossed to be lower that were they are. The reality is that overall the fuel price has gone up, considering the econimic activity is mainly centred in the regions with which the price of fuel has been increased. Does this dull and asleep
Peasant farmer/cum chancer president understand that the Zambians cannot stomach any more increament. If he wanted uniform prices why didn’t he just reduce the prices in the rural areas to be in line with the prices in the mentioned regions. This is a joke of a president, a fake one. By any standard the petrol price should not be more than K6,000 /- per litre. Continue been steadfast as we much on to a better Zambia coming after…

  31. #33, tell me your tribe and I will give you a better answer S.W.I.N.E !!

#29, MY BRAIN IS 20 TIMES BIGGER THAN YOURS I.D.I.O.T. I HAVE ACHIEVED MUCH MORE IN LIFE THAN YOU POLITICAL BOOT LICKERS. SATA HAS ATTAINED MANY THINGS IN LIFE THAN YOUR FUULISH BANDA AMONG THEM IS FORMING THE STRONGEST PARTY IN THE COUNTRY!!! CAN YOUR BANMDA FORM A PARTY SUCH AS PF?
DESPITE BEING GIVEN A CHANCE BY ZAMBIANS TO RULE ON A SILVER PLATE ALL WE ARE
GETTING FROM HIM IS CORRUPTION AND AIMLESS TRIPS AT THE EXPENSE OF POOR ZAMBIANS.I KNOW THE ONLY REASON YOU HATE SATA IS BEAUSE HE IS BEMBA, NO MATTER WHAT GOOD HE DOES YOU WILL NOT APPRECIATE, YOU TRIBALIST!!!!

  32. When did) become a member of mmd. As far as I recall he indiucated he was too old to change from unip to mmd and has at no forum indicated he’s no longer a member of unip

  33. #16 to #20 Chiluhainde your are a seriously DULL CHAP. Zambians are not dull.. You my frined are one.. How on Mars can you compare the volumes of fuel consumed per hour and per day in Lusaka, Ndola , Kitwe, kabwe, etc with the that consumed in Chipata or Kaoma.. You must be dull… Apart from Bulk fuel supplies to the mines, over 60% of Zambia’s retail volume of fuel is consumed between the Copperbelt & Lusaka Provinces alone!!!!!!.. dull chap.. and for your Information .. in case you dont know about Zambia.. These two provinces with Mazabuka + parts of Central comprise OUR INDUSTRIAL HUB.. where production happens.. and these will now pay more for fuel.. Damn Some towns, like solwezi even have on 3 filling stations in Totyal. Others one filling sttion whole town.. Ulichikopo

  34. Chaps from the diaspora, don’t depend on media reports only, I just bought fuel and the prices in most filling stations haven’t changed a bit. U r so busy supporting useless opposition parties with nothing to offer ati ‘fyonyo fyonyo’!! #32 MIckey mouse, true u r a mouse, last year’s speech didnt include include finished roads or MRI launch or upgraded hospitals or built schools or the many differences. Don’t twist stories u miserable chaps!

  35. #38 the same people you are refering to as pf kaponyas are the people who vote and determine the future of our mother zambia. You the elite have taken refuge in some developed countries.come back and kick way the kaponyas if you are man enough!!

  36. #38 Circumcised & Chiluhainde. I apologise for my sarcasm. I don’t usually do that. I am non-partisan, but firm believer and support ideas and actions that are focused on empowering the marginalised, black Zambian. I believe we are all capable of understanding issues. even simple ones like the fuel which needs no debate. bottom line is there is going to be a net overall benefit to the OMCs who will see increased turnover just from this pricing strategy change alone. We retail customers will bear the cost as the bulk supply mining contracts are not easy to change. I support real actions that will see the many smart people I have noticed on this blog go back to Zambia and take up top Leadership positions and ownership in these firms, regardless of polital affiliation. that all.

The bitterness, anger, malice that is coming out of you simply shows that you are a very SAD human being. Chill-Out, life is too short. Try and find some peace in your heart. Or resolve all the personal issues that you have in you – driving you crazy and mad.

By the way KK was just born in Chinsali. By nature KK is of Tumbuka Tribe.
You never here about Tumbuka people from Muyombe ( Isoka ) or Lundazi going around boasting about how KK brought Zambia out of the Colonial Masters.

It’s because he is Tumbuka and the parents came from Malawi – That’s why Chiluba & Michael Sata exercised tribalism and attempted to deport him to Malawi.

  38. My uncle worked in Special Branch assigned to State House. He told me that KK always used Tumbuka language when speaking to his family, children and so forth. Yes, it true KK is Tumbuka.

MMD is winning 2010. PF has no chance. The numbers do not add up. My whole clan is Western Province is for MMD and we shall embarrass the Catholics Priests

  39. #42 and 43, learn to get details from what you are reading. I didnt say kaunda was Bemba, I said nothern province has produced great leaders such as KK. of course you know that kaunda was born at lubwa mission in Chinsali and not in malawi.KK was born and brought up in Chinsali and some of his close friends were Kapasa makasa and Kapwepwe. please do not drug me into this debate as I have more data about KKs childhood than you.

  40. Zambia is one of the poorest countries on earth. The UK, where I am, the USA, and all of Europe, who make the richest nations, are all spenidng sleepless nights to figure out how to cut government spending so that they can contain their deficits and improve the lives of their citizens.

Yet for poor Zambia, the Sensesless President is busy spending sleepless nights figuring out and plotting how to deplete the little resources in government coffers, through aimless bogus travel, with no due consideration of the standard of living of the majority of the country’s citizens in the rural areas, and the status of our country on the world economic stage.

I fail to understand why it is difficult for RB to see and let alone compare how under-developed Zambia is whenever he visits other…

  41. All these hospitals shd now b attributed 2 Simbao , since when sata implemented govt projects u said it was sata. Just how foolish. Sata and Lubinda shd tell us what parallel programs they would do not just foolishly opposing.

  42. Zathu

“” To make Money – One Has to Spend Money. No Investment will come to Zambia on a Silver Plate. Just like in life, if you are lazy you will starve to death “””

You cannot compare the UK to Zambia – that’s very right. As poor country we need to spend money for investments to generate job creation and fund our institutions.

Mind you the rich western countries are powered by investments coming from abroad too. Without China and Arab nations both the UK & USA would collapse. The UK & USA Government Treasuries are 45% owned by the Chinese & Saudi Arabia. That’s why China is nowadays calling he shots against the mighty USA.

  43. In the UK, most of Investment Banks, Asset Management, and Hedge Funds are investing in Emerging Markets, in other words Developing Nations. Therefore what RB is trying to do is to bring in investments.

Secondly – UK & USA economies are mostly driven by the private Sectors.
Take the US State of California – it’s known to be the 5th Powerful Economy in the world. Thus, because of the Private Sectors and not the Federal & State Government funding.

  44. PM David Cameron too is asking for trade deals from India, China and so on. And the USA Government is also poaching for deals from South America countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and so on..

So as a poor nation cutting spending is not an option – but to bring in investment.

    Don’t Mislead the Bloggers >>>>

Don’t claim to know more data about Kaunda. History is there for everyone to read about Zambia. Especially for KK

What makes you think that you have more data about KK?
Who cares if you have data about Kaunda – So what?? This is not competition.

It’s this silly mentality that you have which is leading to most people calling you names and disgusting you. Are you Mr. Know It All?

  46. eric chanda typical PF dik head kaponya mponsa mabwe 90 days money in ur pocket. To think of it what is UPND doing sleeping in the same bed with these chamba smoking die hards

  47. 42# VJ – Your days are numbered says

Any reasonable Zambia that went to school knows that KK was born in Chansali at Lubwa Mission
For that – after independence his family set up a farm in Chinsali where his elder brother resided. Guys like the Late Simon Kapwepwe were from that area.

My GrandFather from mothers side went to Lubwa Mission and taught at Chilonga & Chalabese near Chinsali prior to Independence. I know the history of that part of the Zambia being Half Lozi & Half Bemba. Do not be too big headed

  48. Independent Observer

People with your kind of mentality are what will make Zambia never come out of its under-development mess.

How do you spend money you dont have, and worse still, on RB’s consumption?? Travel is not an investment. Money should be spent on education, health, skills and infrastructure development, and not on aimless unproductive Presidential tourism. There are ambassadors and high commissioners, supported trade commissioners and other specialised staff in all Zambia’s foreign missions whose job description is to sell Zambia and attract investment. What are they paid for if I may ask?? To wait for RB at airports??

  49. Yes ambassadors are there to promote Zambia and bring in trades. However, there are some trades or Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) that are done on the Head of State level. That said, any intelligent ambassador should be going out there to look for investments & promote Zambia, especially with Tourisms, but it appears we do not seem to see much on the plates from these embassies

I gave you an example – which even the western leaders such as Obama, Cameroon & Sarkozy go out to foreign countries to look for deals & MoU’s.

Don’t tell me that these Powerful Countries do not have good ambassadors that cannot pull trades on behalf of their respective countries.

As it stand Zambia is broke. Like a business man who goes to the Bank to borrow money to expand his/her business and create more jobs – as a country we need good Fiscal Investment coming from abroad. A small scale business – is better off going to a Development Bank and borrows money than sit down and play a crying game.

Take Zamtel – This Company has been loosing money and the Government has been pumping in money to keep it afloat. That itself was wasting tax payer’s money. Therefore, the option was to bring in investors

  52. Continued >>>>

ZCCM went through the same thing after the copper prices went down the 90’s. It was being kept afloat by the government, where $ half a million dollars was coming from the tax payers pockets a week. The IMF advised Chiluba to sell the mines. However, very STUPIDLY, Chiluba sold the mines at a very CHEAP PRICE

One of the reasons why these donors come into Zambia to help with Infrastructure building is because they know as a nation we are broke.

As a Zambian, living abroad – you can also go around and look for investments.

I for one, I have drawn up Draft through the Emerging Markets Capital Funds from Barclays Capital & HSBC Banks. The $1.5m deal has been approved.

Therefore, I am practicing what I am talking about. Mine is to make investments and create 500 well paid jobs in the next 4 years – which will bring in taxes to the Zambian Government.

  54. Continued >>>>

Can you imagine if 1 in every 20 Zambian living abroad did the same thing? For sure development would speed up. I am not the only doing this, but other Zambians have done it before.

!!!!! WE SHOULD NOT WAIT FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO DO EVERYTHING !!!!!

  55. haha…. tell the ***** Sata that by implementing these projects those youths who want jobs can go work on the construction sights, the lazy ones can remain unemployed in the PF ranks…. and when the transport routes open up more jobs for youth who wanna engage in jobs accross sadcc and definitely for the *****s who only get paid to go to by elections….
