  1. Pics 9 & 10. It is wrong, myopic and downright stupid to look at the demand for Zambian maize and mealie meal with with smuggling spectacles. This demand presents an enormous economic diversification opportunity and forex spinner.. Uganda is building 1200km of roads in DRC in order to tap into trade that is twice the Ugandan GDP. That is called thinking outside the box. We need to move away from this old UNIP mentality

  2. Excellent photography. Good to see my sister dora looking stunningly beautiful and young at the age of 50. She is putting the young ones to shame. Also good to see the future first female president enjoying her honey moon locally. Very humble and patriotic. Seeing such new love reminds me of the first few years I met my regina. Even today I feel the same warmth about her. Enjoy you people. We soon want some kids so that uncle Kaizar can baby sit

  3. Happy 50th Birthday Dora! What big beauty queen.. bright smile, looking brilliant and self confident.
Quality time on honeymoon for Tasila & hubby. Away from the urban rubble and in tune with nature.
    I love Zambia!

  4. Dora is still performing below her potential. Sadly, she’s the least worried about this. Dora, u can do far better than u’re currently doing. Will she change and mellow with middle age? I’m looking for someone who will bet on it.

  5. Smugglers song is as old as the song for the need to diversify. By now we could have ramped up maize production specifically for export to the DRC. That is how the western countries established African countries as a target market for secondhand goods… there was that insatiable demand for cheap, good clothing.

  6. If there is a demand for maize in neighbouring countries, and Zambia (presumably) has surplus, why not exploit foreign markets?

Ms Dora, looking good at 50! True what they say about ‘black’ not cracking. You look 38! Best wishes.

  7. I always wonder what goes in our leaders minds. Here’s DRC next to us, converting what we can produce in abundance. A huge opportunity to make forex and create jobs! Yet all we hear is smuggler caught.

    Where are their brains?

  8. @1. “Pics 9 & 10.
You are spot on. it is actually very dull complaining about the business opportunity which is self-marketed. That is how stuup11d we Zambians think- inside the locked box, nama key baliposa. I really always wonder if UNZA has a faculty for economics? How can a nation be so dull, please. Foreign exchange yaba fye napa mafi- the nation complains of it’s availability. Icalo cifwaya fye ukukongole ndalama. Bwafya. Zambia should have been feeding DR Congo, period. Instead of complaining about this generous opportunity for foreign exchange which our economists, if at all they exist, can’t see. Bwafya!

  9. Dora must be turning 60. She has been reading news since the late 80s. Why aren’t people proud of their real ages in Zambia?

  10. @ DJ you are wrong, Dora was reading the news in the 90s, she is definately 50, she was working at ZNBC in her early 20s. She has done well for herself, she’s a goal getter.

  11. Beautiful gesture by our First Lady Mama Esther. It’s truly heart melting to be remembered and provided with an essential mobility item such as a wheelchair. Good to see Tasila and hubby enjoying their honeymoon locally, I wish I was brave enough to stand with those lions. At my elder sister Dora, you’re stunning as usual!! Let’s keep our beauty flowing my sister!! You’re gorgeous, let no one tell you otherwise.

  13. “The Copperbelt International Airport renamed Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport”

The airport between Ndola and Kitwe under construction is not renamed from, The Copperbelt International Airport to Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport. Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport is it’s original name. Originally, this airport was supposed to be constructed at Ndola International Airport. However, authorities just changed the venue to a greenfield one between Ndola and Kitwe. However, more to the Ndola city side than Kitwe. That is why it still maintains it’s original name of Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.

  14. At least we are not reading about Tasila in foreign lands, such as Dubai, on the honeymoon. IIt is encouraging that young Zambians/couples of a certain status are now thinking taking honeymoons/vacationis within as sexy. It is your beautiful country young people, make it work!

This might even encourage and promote LOCAL TOURISM in Zambia…..young couples with means deciding to spend their money locally and helping to grow this sector in the process. Hey, who knows, next time we have a COVID version 2.0 we may not have to worry about foreign tourists to keep our hotels and parks open. I hope the TOURISM BOARD is taking note. They can use such young couples to promote local tourism, I am sure Tasila and her husband will be glad to help. Just a thought.

  15. LT, your website nowadays is very sluggish and slow. It is taking ages for comments to be posted and appear. As a result you see people reposting duplicate comments thinking that they are not getting through. Even your “reply” option in comments is really useless to be frank. It does nothing! What happened to the robust Lusaka Times of past years?

  16. Us in pf we have given you dora and tasila. Both beautiful women. Who in upnd can you give us who is as good looking? Katuka? Haha

  17. Ba mama ba Dora, you should be older than 50. I have just turned 48 and was still at school when you were reading news on ZNBC. The likes of Maureen Nkandu turned 50 a long time ago about you. Be proud of your real age, maybe we should ask ba shikulu Folotiya?

  18. Dora was reading the news in the 80s. And for those of you wishing to marry her should be prepared with what comes with the packing. One husband already gave up with washing.

  19. Madam Minister must watch her weight, BMI Index! There are more Zambians who need wheelchairs madam first Lady. You can do better than this.

  20. In reality she should be more than 50 years. I was young when she was a news caster on ZNBC. Women likes reducing their ages. Nevertheless, she is cute. Simply irresistible!!
