Five traditional leaders in Itezhi-Itezhi district want Zambians to give President Rupiah Banda another five year mandate as republican president.
The traditional leaders want Zambians to vote for Mr Banda in next years elections so that he can continue as Republican President.
The Chiefs are happy that President Banda has performed well and managed to deliver on many projects in the short period he has been in office.
The traditional leaders are Chiefs Kaingu, Chilyabufu, Sezhono Shimbizhi and Musungwa.
The Chiefs said this when Southern Province Permanent Secretary GladysKristafor called on them at their places over the weekend.
The chiefs are happy with the performance of the livestock industry; health and education sectors which they say are receiving a major improvement.
And Mrs. Kristafor said government would continue working with Chiefs in bringing development closer to the people.

Here we go again, some chiefs in support of RB. Very soon it will be some men of the pulpit, some NGOz, some muzicianz, some retired prominent people and the list iz endless.
Lusaka times putting words in the mouth of these chiefs. That I know and willing to prove. This is cheap propaganda by Lusaka Times and an insult to these able leaders of the society.
Stop this rot ba times. Am an incubent in ITT and know what is going on. This should be one of those coffee jounalists. Amuleke kubeya bana umwa. mbulimbwishi ubu.
This must be a joke considering the state of the road in the area these chiefs must be out if their minds or it was because of the brown envelops. The road to iteshi teshi was last worked on in the Kaunda era. These chief must be saying if the road is tarred no vote for dasco
I would be very surprised if the chiefs could take that position. Because the road to ITT is pathetic. It also appears that tourist are avoiding going to ITT because of the road. The town has become isolated and yet it has alot of potential.Ask a few guys who have put up quest houses/logdes no business.
if chief mungaila was among these chiefs, this was going to send shivers on the opposition. However ,these chiefs mentioned here are very small ones with very little/negligible influence on the voting patern.
On “Five traditional leaders in Itezhi-Itezhi district want Zambians to give President Rupiah Banda another five year mandate as republican president,” it would have been better if the Chiefs promised that they will individually give President RB Banda a total of 5 votes in the 2011 elections because it will be difficult for the 5 chiefs mentioned to convince other individual Zambians to vote for President RB Banda who is a failure in governance.
I hope this nonsense of Chiefs trying to show that a certain presidential candidate is popular will come to an end no further than now so that the useless Chinese investors can stop campaign-supporting the MMD.
Be blest all.

Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added…
“The Chiefs said this when Southern Province Permanent Secretary GladysKristafor called on them at their places over the weekend”
Is it palaces NOT places? and is it Gladys Kristafor NOT “GladysKristafor”?
Chiefs are individuals let them vote for RB because they are impressed with his missmanagement of this govt .. chiefs are not usually intelligent people , because even if he is duft he will be chief noone challeges him
Thus the problem of poverty they just support in hope of brown evelopes. What development are they seeing? Useless chi***fs.
The five chiefs’ support only translates into five votes. Are these MMD fanatics so dull? What makes them think that because my illiterate or semi-literate chief supports them, I will blindly follow my chief and support them too? Most Zambians are now too smart, modern, and sophisticated to be blindly subservient to the so-called chiefs. How naive and daft can these MMD guys be!
I can only see 4 chiefs mentioned here. Were is the fifth? Two of them have names that sound phony. Chilyabufi and Musungwa. One eats lies and the other wants to be kept only.
Yes it is true…MMD has got 5 votes from dull stinking Chiefs in Southern province where the chinese are murdering people. This is what poverty can do to chiefs….becoming useless and stu.pidy.
It would be unprecedented for Zambians to deny a sittng president a second term, and in this instance, highly unlikely.
Fuseke!!!!! Five chiefs, my ar.se, those are just made up chiefs, nothing to shake the ground or sway voters.
boring
Strange names. I have never heard of these fives clowns.
Chief Kaingu the respectable leader clearly said ” IF IT IS THE WILL OF VOTERS. LET HIM GIVE HIM ANOTHER 5 YR TERM” The chief was responding to a leading statement. He never said We the chiefs are behind RB and want Zambians to vote for him.
This is another cheap propaganda campaign by desperate MMD.No wonder in mpulungu MMD is abusing school children only children below 10 yrs are the only ones attending MMD camapaign. Mayo kutiwaseka.MMD stop child abuse.
Imwe, this style of parroting was used by FTJ for his third term bid and lamentably failed. Just convince the masses with perfomance not blind loyalty.
I have been to ITT at Chief shimbizhi`s palace.he is just a little pauper who even had no shame to ask for money when we went for baseline survey for a rural water and saniation project.just want money from RB.As for Chief Musungwa, we all know that he is an MMd cadre for a long time…he has had these ties since the namuyamba era as MP. Remmy Nabuzoka, former ITT DA was the conduit.
