It is not fair mwe. 50 plus years after independence and we are still in the Bundus. Very, very unfortunate. Part of that fire engine expenditure should have gone to some measures like mobile pumping stations or — heck — started this drain THEN.

Just look at where the other half live …all that is sewage mixed with rain water and you are using a $1million Fire Truck to pump it out…everything that is wrong with PF…just the money spent on that single second hand truck would have been enough to buy a Fire truck , commercial pump and funds to dig appropriate drainage in the area.

Great cross governmental effort with ZNS in the mix. This is what we like to see. Collaborative working regardless of party affiliations or tribe. Unfortunately you will never see upnd members supporting such initiatives because the tribalism in them runs so deep. Just read the comments above from upnd diasporans

The question is: WHERE WERE YOU IN THE LAST 10 YEARS?
They have started working now. In a hurry for votes before parliament closes on 12 May.

Floods caused by poverty .The severe lack of sanitation services in Lusaka compounds means these drains will always blocked by garbage.

This old hen Bo Inonge has no shame at all over 10 years in govt 5 years as a Veep and she is looking at citizens who are flooded all due to lack of facilities like drainage….yet this is a govt that is happy to borrow $1.2 billion for a motorway that will include hotels and shopping malls….very shameful indeed..in August you will be retiring Bo Inonge with absolutely nothing to show for but corruption and debt.

Good morning Madam Vice President. Did you sleep well for the last 8 and half years? As you can see, while you were sleeping, Kanyama and nearby arears have been flooding nearly every year r=there is no drought in Lusaka. Your predecessor Dr Guy Scott even mocked the MMd government over the same matter in 2010. Perhaps, he did not have much time to deal with the problem but you have had nearly 9 years.I hope that ypu have woken up in time to sort out the problem once and for all before next rain season, or votes, whichever comes sooner.
