Pact should quickly harmonise manifestos – HH

Share

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema

United Party for National Development (UPND)president Hakainde Hichilema has observed that there is need for the UPND/PF pact to quickly harmonize its manifestos.

Mr. Hichilema said that the PACT should heed to the people’s calls to ensure that they quickly prepare for the 2011 elections.

Featuring on the Public’s Last Say on QFM last evening, Mr. Hichilema however maintained that the issue of the presidency is not a priority at the moment.

He also noted that pact partners have a responsibility to commence on the campaigns if it is to emerge victorious in the 2011 elections.

And Mr. Hichilema said that he is not surprised about the 2010 Global Human Development report released in New York which named Zambia among three African countries with a lower human development index.

He said this demonstrates that the MMD has been telling lies about scoring improvements.

He has stated that it is plain to see that the MMD has not done so much in developing the most critical sectors of the economy.

  1. Well Said. They must be an MMD hand influencing the PACT not to succeed. HH is being honest and true as a concerned Zambian wanting to Kick out MMD.

  2. The Funny thing Mr. Hichilema is when I look at the HDI figures for Zambia, I notice that from 1991 to 2000, the figures are for the most part, either negative or stagnant. However when I look at them from 2000 till present, they have been improving.

Now who was in govt from 1991 to 2000 who you’re entering a pact with? The HDI (Income, Ecuation, Health). Please Mr. Hichilema, tell us who was one of the Health Ministers from 1991 to 2000 and brags about it. One of the reasons the HDI figure was low from 1991 to 2000 was because of Health. Who was one of the health Ministers from 1991 to 2000 and openly brags about it?

  3. How about WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF HARMONIZING MANIFESTOS,it gives people some hope that something serious and big is brewing in the background

With all due respect badala! you are one of the PACT leaders, use terms that will instill confidence in your supporters. Your supporters want results not insinuations.Theres need for the pact to harmonize manifestos, well, you Sir are a decision maker in this pact,so who is this statement directed at…
    Semantics

  4. #2 We need not say more. Let Hichilema answer that question, these two men are beneficiaries from zambia’s lost decade. What can they say, great men like the late president resigned during that period. Once again thanks for raising that very important issue.

  5. #2
The funny thing is that you have your directed observation at the wrong person, you are better off directing it at the people who produced the report (2010 Global Human Development) in NY,email them and argue your case.HH is just an observer just like anyone else who has interest in this report hehehe
Just like the relationship btn HH and Sata does not concern the people who produced this report

  6. If more politicians in this country were thinking about the next generation instead of the next election, it might be better for Zambia.

  7. PACT DIED IN MUFUMBWE
EVERYTHING ELSE AFTER THAT HAS JUST BEEN POLITICAL TRICKERY.
AS THE PF SAYING GOES: DON’T KUBEBA
HH AND UPND ARE DUMB FOOLS THAT WILL BE DUMBFOUNDED WHEN THEY FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHO SATA IS AND WHY HE HAS A STATUE OF A COBRA IN HIS OFFICE.

IT’S ONLY SAD THAT HH ACTUALLY THINKS HE IS THE ONE PLAYING A GAME OF NUMBERS ON SATA AND UPND HAS BEEN USING ITS WINS AS A LITIMUS TEST.
HH NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFIN.
THE ONLY REASON HE HAS HAD GOOD RESULTS IS BECAUSE PF HAS VOTED FOR UPND CANDIDATES

  8. SATA IS LETTING HH CONTINUE THINKING THAT UPND HAS MADE GAINS BUT IN ACTUAL FACT UPND IS WOUNDED AND ALL THIS WILL COME TO LIGHT WHEN ITS TIME KUBEBA.
THE TRUE TEST OUT OF THIS IS THAT PF HAS BEEN POPULAR ENOUGH TO GIVE UPND THE EDGE IN ELECTIONS
BUT UPND HAS FAILED TO RECIPROCATE. AND OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT THE KIND OF MARRIAGE SATA WOULD GO INTO READY TO SACRIFICE POWER YET KNOWING THAT HE PROVIDED MOST OF THE VITAL VOTES.
    WE KNOW SATA.
HE WILL STRIKE LIKE THE COBRA HE IS WHEN THE MOMENT IS RIPE.

    BUT WILL IT BE ENOUGH???
    HH- HAKA IVOTELA HEKA
    SATA- NAKOTA KUSHIKA
CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE
    ON THE WATCH!

  9. HH be seriuos and stand on your own. Have you now become the spokes person for the pact? Why doest it seem that you are the only one talking about the pact and Sata is busy talking about pf? You have dented your image by aligning yourself with thieves and this is a shame on you and you will regret it that is if you are not regreting already. You had the chance to transfrom & modernise the political thinking in Zambia & you have lost it. You back-stepped and of all people you chose Sata, a political hooligan to help you modernise the country. Shame on you HH. I long quit on you bro.

  10. HH stop day dreaming and wasting your time on a dead issue. Heed the wisdom of many Zambians in the know of Satan. If your ego has blinded you, heed the wisdom of Charles Milupi i quote herein,

    ‘Pact can’t work’

OPPOSITION Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) president Charles Milupi says the Patriotic Front (PF) and United Party for National Development (UPND) Pact cannot work because it is centered on two people seeking the presidency.

  11. If only that old man sata can be like HH who understands the importance of removing mmd out of power. Well said HH and we gonna support you all the way regardness of you being a Tonga. You understand whats at stack here.

  12. Mr Milupi said in an interview yesterday that he did not want to be associated with the PF/UPND Pact because it had no future for the country as it was centered on two people who want to get to State House.

Mr Milupi said he could only partner in a coalition that would discuss policies and programmes to improve people’s lives rather creating an alliance to escort people to State House.

The most important thing for opposition political parties was to develop policies that could improve people’s lives.

    Said Milupi

  13. “In most cases, pacts are always retrogressive because they do not concentrate on developing policies to improve people’s lives, but they are always fighting over who should be the president.

“This is why I would rather go for a grand coalition, which discusses policies and not a pact where people fight for leadership,” Mr Milupi said.

  14. Continued from N0. 10. What manifestos are you going to harmonise? Has pf got a manifesto to begin with? Check the language of their slogans ‘ Dont Kubeba’ what kind of rubbish is this? This is time to articulate things clearly and in an intellident manner not using jargon from the slums. HH mark my words bro. I can actually see from your face that you are a trouble man. Wake up open your eyes and see and use your education to anlyse issues. Sata will leave you broke. Be carefull and remember its not too late to change. Have a long vision for the country, longer than Sata will live to see.

  15. Please Mr. Hichilema, do what you can bro so that the people of Zambia may smile one day. If it means you joining with Mr Sata is the only way to remove MMD, please do it quickly and forget about being tribal or what. We are all Zambians and if you happen to just look around, our country there are alot of intermarriages. This shows how One Zambia and One Nation we are. My pray is that God may come into your hearts you two leader and help redeem our country.

  16. sata understands the need to oust mmd.
everyone does even most of mmd it is just that for any successful political game, the cards have to be played.
sata is playing hh, and the fallout for hh will be a death sentence.
for those within mmd they are protecting their interests otherwise the bosses are running things very wrongly

  17. SJKMCW # 16,

Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who puts his trust in man.”Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

See yourself as a potential leader than mentally deliquent Sata and deluded HH.

  18. Mwana mubutu Anderson kambela Mazoka, must be turning in his grave.UPND has indeed gone to the Dogs! or is it the Dogs that have come to UPND.

  19. SJKMCW # 16,

You are headed for a mental crash because MMD will never lose a winner takes it all election to anybody in Decision 2011. You can insult me but time is coming when you will recall this self restrained statement meant to help you prepare your mind and arrest foreseeable health crisis the obvious may bring you. There are no issues on which a clique of anti-MMD trolls in the political arena will put up a winning national campaign. Sata, HH and their defunct pact at national level are in “political cul-de-sac”.

  20. #19 VJ Rigger upnd has gone too the dogs. that sata is the one who hounded mazoka out of MMD and thats how mazoka went on to form upnd. now this is the man HH can go to begging for an alliance. sata’s vuvuzela fred membe also went and grabbed mutinta mazoka from a dying husband and married her. indeed mazoka must be turning in his grave

  21. gay scott has said he has no apolo to make to upnd. gay says upnd had no presence in mpulungu and goes on to say PF is more popular in chilanga and it campainged vigorously for upnd to win. gay goes on to say if upnd isnt happy they can get out

  22. Who is the President of Pact? I am sure Pact guys are now panicking like scared rabbits! Hahahahaha. Viva MMD

  23. “He also noted that pact partners have a responsibility to commence on the campaigns if it is to emerge victorious in the 2011 elections” This statement is crucial how can we start campaigning if guide lines are not yet ready on where each party will field candidate. Please as leaders let us guide our members in right way. Whether manifestos are harmonized the issue is the President Mr.HH do not pretend that it is not an issue.

  24. HH if you knew the people you entered into a pact with, you’d have long realised that the PF does not have a manifesto in as much as they don’t have membership cards. Go ahead, ask them for their manifesto so that you can harmonise it with yours and see what response you’ll get.

  25. I agree with you #18, and I trust in the LORD for the redeption of this country but God has to use one person and not everybody to rule this country. Thats why I had said “God may come into thier hearts”. I can never put my trust in man because man will fail me one day. Thanks
As for #20, am not one person who insult people. I will never do that at all because the one who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world. Lets just cross our fingers and ask God to show us the way. No one will ever crash me mentally here on earth, because my trust is in the Lord God Almighty. Have faith in God and not in any political party. Thanks

  26. MMD cadres it’s better you concentrate on building the sub standard roads that will develop potholes after the rain season, the botched up clinics that have no equipment, medicines or doctors and the schools with half baked teachers and no books than poke your nose in issues that have nothing to do with you. Some of you are even shamelessly using Mazoka’s name forgetting that MMD killed Mazoka.
Let UPND members deal with HH. If he will present a deal that will relegate UPND to a second fiddle party for PF we will deal with him. If he comes up with a deal that is acceptable we will support him. I hope PF & UPND extremists can hold their breath and allow the respective parties to iron out an amicable deal acceptable to both parties.

  27. Instead of HH telling us what the pact must do, he must start talking with SATA about the way forward. Sort out small issues affecting the pact now, tomorrow will never come and the election is coming soon.

  28. I dont understand the so called intellect of HH!! if HH can be in the same dilema his members are in, then he is blind and leading fellow blind members. HH should not presume but should give direction such as ..”we have started harmonising our manifestos and we will be ready with final one on such a day, then proceed to election of Pact president and announcement of major cabinet portfolios in the following way”…..such should be the statement from HH..and not ”we should start harmonising manifestos or else we loose elections in 2011” what if RB calls for elections in April, 2011, when are you to harmonise your manifestos. Am afraid, DULLNESS & DESPERATION IS REIGNING IN HH.
    NOW
My advise to HH/MC is that, they abaondon hatred type ofopposition & turn to building type of…

  29. why cant this fool wake up and realize that the cobra cant be tamed by a dull chap like him…
HH is too cold. cant sell . he cant speak sense and is too tongarized to think progressively. UPND wake up and replace this boy!

  30. “United Party for National Development (UPND)president Hakainde Hichilema has observed that there is need for the UPND/PF pact to quickly harmonize its manifestos.”
What then have you been doing all this time, twelve months?

“He also noted that pact partners have a responsibility to commence on the campaigns if it is to emerge victorious in the 2011 elections.”
But the Pact presidency is an integral and critical part of those campaigns that you are talking about badala ba HH.

“And Mr. Hichilema said that he is not surprised about the 2010 Global Human Development report released in New York which named Zambia among three African countries with a lower human development index.”
These NGOs which have never been to Zambia like stupid and inaccurate TI story recently, no…

  31. Hakainde Hichilema has observed with dismay that there is need for the UPND/PF presidents to quickly harmonize their BIG NOSE before 2011. Just to reduce them to normal sizes mwaziba ma electorates!

  32. this is a type of leader Zambia wants..honest and clean with a straight record and small family that will not give problems to the nation..disciplined children!!

  33. As a developing nation, this is what we deserve to be reading about from leaders who have well defined targets, a clear sense of direction, purpose, intellect and sound grounding in management.

Not the rubbish being spewed byDogs from the Daily Mail in the name of Journalism.

    WELL SPOKEN MWANA MUSANKHWA

  34. #8-9, first stop SHOUTING.. And we are in 2010, you can’t name yourself Simeza. You even named your son Ruphia and your daughter Dora. Give those names to DOGS

    HH – HAKA HIVOTELA EKA
    SATA – NAKOTA KUSHIKA
CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE
ON THE WATCH! ON THE WATCH!!!

  37. HH Well said my bro. Sata for 2011, he will rule for 5 years, bring sanity and order to this state and you take over a more organised Institution. Zambia needs Sata in 2011, to bring alot of things which are currently off back in order.

Whether MMD or any prophets of doom like it or not, we are taking over Government next year.

  38. # 44 Mukabe Come 2011 …………….what are those lot of things you call ”off back”? again how can a party PF that has never elected its NEC or MCC for the last 10 years promote good governance when in government? what financial prudence can a party that has failed to run councils bring sanity in the central government?….pls what is so difficult to promote DEMOCRACY & FINANCIAL prudence in a small institution like a party?? do they even maintain financial statements, let them produce one if any?? who are the signatories to the Bank accounts??? and who authorises expenses???i wonder!!!!!
Pls let us do away with hatred and embrace unity in all we do even when comenting…Just point wrongs than generalising….
