#10 aka London. What your history books have failed to teach you is that Zambians actually fought in World War II as part of the British Empire. A lot of African troops served in areas such as Burma. You have to search very hard to find this info. In Zimbabwe a young man actually embarked on a journey to locate and document the WWII veterans in Zimbabwe. Since you are in London there are actually some archives you might be able to access to see who from Zambia served in the war.

LT, Point of correction, Darius Hakayobe was not former Minister for Southern Province. He was former Permanent Secretary, I think from 2000 up to the time he was retired probably 2009.

That is why the Zambian Diaspora Business Group is a very good initiative. It might not bring the desired change immediately but hey, it’s a beginning. The EU also had it’s forerunner, the EEC.
