That’s what Lazy Lungu is good at …you would be excused for thinking this is funded by the lazy man himself…they won’t mention that AfDB and others are involved.

Good thinking to put a railway line on the bridge for future connections when the Vic Falls bridge collapses after 100n years of rusting.

@Chales Ngoma is there a railline on the bridge? Do we have a railLINE TO bOTSWANA FROM Zambia? That would be progress
@Chiza Chirwa so what if they did?
The best part about this bridge is that is was a brainchild of MMD with a great leader ;Levy Mwanawasa with his counter part Festus Mogae , In August 2007 the governments of Zambia and Botswana announced a deal to construct a bridge to replace the existing ferry. These are leaders who should not be forgotten, i know for a fact that an empty cadre will probably think this is a PF IDEA. #no vision
thanks to cyber bill..i am posting from elsewhere

azungula Bridge is a road and rail bridge over the Zambezi river between the countries of Zambia and Botswana at Kazungula. The bridge was opened for traffic on 10 May 2021. In August 2007 the governments of Zambia and Botswana announced a deal to construct a bridge to replace the existing ferry.

Both governments are commended for their consistent commitment to the execution of the project. This physical capital is a critical ingredient in the bilateral link of the two countries and will enhance regional integration. Zambia ought to sustain the infrastructural development agenda to facilitate travel, internal connectivity and economic performance. Coupled with internal transparent and accountable governance, a healthy economic growth rate will be guaranteed .Well done

@Malcolm Ex, I am simply asking because the DRC speaks French and Angola speaks Portuguese, I only wanted to know.
I like the photos of the pontoon crossing the river. With the tolls set as exorbitant as they are, the pontoon will have a long and prosperous life ahead!
Excellent job Mr Project Manager, we ve seen it.., money well spent and no corrupt *****s from known countries were allowed to muck around!!!
Sonta reloaded.
Does it really matter it was loan money?
The two countries are now linked using modern means.
Hooray!!
