President Edgar Lungu has rejected the results being announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia, saying that the just-ended elections were not free and fair.
In a statement released by the State House, the President said that his party, the Patriotic Front, is Consulting on the next course of action concerning the general election held on Thursday, 12th August 2021.
The President said that the general election in three provinces, namely. Southern Province, North Western Province, and Western Province were characterized by violence, rendering the whole exercise nullity.
The President said Patriotic Front polling agents were brutalized and chased from polling stations, a situation that left the ruling party’s votes unprotected in the three provinces. The President also cited the killing of Patriotic Front North Western Province Chairman Jackson Kungo, during voting, and Mr. Samuel Chihili, shortly before the voting, as criminal acts that rendered the general election not free and fair.
“Right now, some of our agents and supporters are in hiding because of these criminal acts. How can the elections be fair when people have been murdered and many others are in hiding after being brutalized. Is that democracy? We have written to the Electoral Commission of Zambia but they have continued announcing the results. So, we are consulting on the next decision we have to make,” the President asked.
“with polling agents having been attacked and chased from polling stations, we were reduced to competing in seven provinces while our opponent was Contesting in 10 provinces,” the President said

Lungu is a cry baby like Malawi’s Peter Mutharika and has samilar accusations to those of the Malawian ex-president against the Malawi Electoral Commission. The fact is both these two arrogant ex-presidents have been rejected by their people, but it is proving a bitter pill to swallow. Lungu’s friend across the border in Malawi is still in denial, more than a year after he lost to Lazarus Chakwera- he is even still attacking the judiciary that they staged a coup against him after 2019 results were nullified. Surprisingly, Mutharika can not accept that he lost the election overwhelmingly in 2020 by about 60 percent: Lungu is facing the same, and these two are like twins. Zambians have said NO to tribalism, corruption, mediocrity etc. I can happily abd confidently sing our national anthem. I propose that going forward we sing it the way our party sang it at the virtual convention; fuse in the major Zambian languages, the way RSA sings it in two languages.

This chakolwa never went in to serve the Zambian people but to loot. He is ruthless and brutal and doesn’t deserve to be left without accounting for the waste, looting and corruption during his time. If Zambia has to stand a chance to develop, this is the time to send a strong message to people who go into government to enrich themselves and become career politicians to think before they try. Money stolen by these criminals should be brought back. There is nothing like we are a Christian nation or people are being vindictive. It’s just the rule of law. You can’t have a politician getting into government and become a small God and breach the constitution at will knowingly and at the end of the day just leave to go and enjoy the looted tax payers money at the expense of other Zambians.
