Former president Edgar Lungu has been praised for facilitating a smooth transfer and handover of the instruments of power to Zambia`s 7th President, Hakainde Hichilema.

Special Education Association of Zambia (SEAZ) National Vice Secretary General, Louis Siandyabantu said Dr Lungu has done great works during his reign as Head of State.

“Massive infrastructure development across the country is evidence of the promises of the Patriotic Front (PF) Government under the able Leadership of former Head of State Dr. Edgar Lungu,” said Mr Siandyabantu.

He made these remarks in an interview with Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Shiwang`andu today.

Mr Siandyabantu further said the Special Education Association of Zambia wishes the former president good health and success as he takes up other important roles outside presidency.

Meanwhile, the association has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema and Vice President, Mutale Nalumango of United Party for National Development (UPND) for succeeding the Patriotic Front (PF) Party.

Mr Siandyabantu revealed that the association is confident that the UPND Government under the able Leadership of President Hichilema will deliver it`s promises to the Zambian People.

He added that the Special Association of Zambia is highly expectant that the UPND Government will bring a new drive in the Ministry of General Education more especially under the Special Education.

Mr Siandyabantu further added that, the new Government should consider restructuring the Ministry of General Education (MOGE) in such a way that it also meets the needs and aspirations of both the able bodied and those with special needs.

The National Vice Secretary General has appealed to Government to make the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) more Inclusive by appointing specialist teachers & teachers with various disabilities as Commissioners.

  4. I thought UPND slogan is Forward Zambia but Mr AWE is backwards Zambia to criticise and insult ECL. Your friends have gone forward you are busy rejoicing the misfortune of ECL. That’s why despite what HH will do, some people will come and he is a disappointment because they expect politicians to feed them or reduce prices to almost zero. Its strange that even people who were already adults 7 years ago and had no employment or any meaningful thing going in their lives accused ECL of having created poverty for them. They have forgotten the times they are dodging from school, taking alcohol and sleeping around with women when they should have been advancing their careers. Bane even in USA prices of household goods keep going up.

  6. You voted him out yet you are still trying to draw negative attention to him. Grow up and start telling us what your party upnd is doing to improve lives. Ecl is no longer president. Move on

  7. Mr Siandyabantu,Lungu didn’t do anything special in handing over power: he lost, the majority of zambians rejected him so in a democracy, when you lose, you hand over power, nothing spectacular about that.

Your comment about “massive development”…l won’t comment on that, but the Zambians have loudly voiced what they think about that.

  8. mr dominion you dont know how unfair ecl had been to us the the retirees. its not that we never went to school as you ignorantly put it. some of us are probably more learned than you’re ..and served in govt diligently with unbroken services. you as a cadre you cant realise how hypothetical ecl had been, some of us retired in 20o9 up to now our terminal benefits are not yet paid and yet his minsters and himself could move arround dishing out closal sums of money as their spirit led them and instantyl paying themselves allowances.. he behaved as if he had a plantation of money trees from which money was haverest and hence called KASAKA while some of his ministers were atms, bonanza and the like. ii he was a right why has been rejected by majority people of this Christian nation…

He was not going to have to go

  10. MR AWE FORGET ABOUT DOMINION , HE WAS ALSO RJECTED THROUGH THE BALLOT FOR HE WAS ALSO A SINFUL DISCIPLE IN A CHRISTIAN NATION

  11. There is something wrong with this person called AWE blogger , your comments lucky civility and knowledge about hand over of power from one person to another
Edgar lungu still has police and security detail to his side,
There is nothing wrong to return home without an eagle attached to his vehicle, then it will mean he did not hand over power.
stop creating dust out of nothing, deal with your expectation from president HH who has answers for your life

  12. Indeed as we await the official handover of looted money from the treasury. Thats when credit can be given or handed over to Lungu. Some people are even praising Miti for the smooth transition of power but this is the same Secretary to the cabinet who allowed the thieving by Lungu’s ministers and PSs or is it government. He even created a post called special duties at cabinet office whose duties was solely to loot government coffers.. This is the office that was in charge of paying cadres free cash. It is/was run by known embezzler of government money. Miti knows this better. Thats the office that needs to be investigated big time and bring culprits to book. We need money to make a fresh start and this money is in PF thugs macarrading as ministers and PSs.

  13. That’s the problem with human beings we put too much trust on our fellow human beings to improve our lives. Poverty will continue in Zambia. We won’t see a massive change.

  14. The hate for ECL from some of you will make you go crazy. Those of you who are rejoicing about ECL being stripped of the trappings of power will never reach where ECL reached. He was President of the country and in America would still be referred to as such even after losing power. ECL will never lead the life he led before he became President. He is assured of a pension from the state that will take care of him and his family for the rest of his life. In addition, GRZ will build him a house. But besides that ECL has several properties to his name. He is a successful fish farmer with many fish ponds and has even been helping former inmates from Mwembeshi Prison to get into fish farming. You can only begrudge him but cannot takeaway from him the fact that he was Zambia’s sixth President…

  15. @ Dominion, please, quickly get in terms with the Change. I have gone through what you are experiencing now when Lungu was in power and almost had depression. PF is gone and gone for GOOD. You guys spoiled it for yourselves. Corruption, hate, tribalism, cadrerism, these are some of the vices that took you to your downfall.

  16. Did he have any other choice? He was constitutionally obligated to hand over power, Zambia is not his mother’s farm.
