2. Hey you guys lets quickly get a foreign coach! Do we want to be embarrassed with non-qualification for Ghana? Its not too late to act… Football is a religion in Zambia(in the rest of Africa too) Lets take the game seriously!

   What makes you think we can only peform wonders with a foreign coach? That kind of thinking is retrogresive and should not be entertained.

4. I think the problem is FAZ. Why is it that FAZ doesn’t want the National team to prepare well with very good teams like Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroun, Egypt, Tunisia and so many africa football houses? It sucks to see them wanting always to prepare with coutries like Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nambia and DRC, honestly what can these countries do or teach us that we don’t know? We drew with not because Mbesuma couldn’t score but rather because we never had any friendly match with any notble country. Please we the soccer loving Zambians we want you “FAZ” to make use of the FIFA friendly weeks and play good sides NOT Zimbabwe and DRC every time.

5. How much will be paid to that foreigner coach? K20 million per month? That’s the amount of money needed to adquately prepare the team. Take the team to Brazil for a month and I can assure you the boys will acquire skills and this is what we call proper investment. Many are time we invested so much in both local and foreigner coaches and get nothing at the end of the day and I can site out Ben Pamfuchile who left the team in limbos despite the country sending him abroad to acquire skills. Honestly foreigner coaches they will siphon us our kwacha and do little to the team. Namuliamba please keep Phiri and give him all the support he needs. I do think some FAZ officials there do benefit by enging foreigner coaches, wait until Levy will come and exponse you.

6. Soccer fan Number 1. Where did you get that idea of employing a forein coach? You must be lacking vision. From history, No foreign coach has ever brought glory to the country. The late “Zoom” made wanders in 1984 olympics when the team reached quarter finals by thrashing Italy 4-0. Banda made the team to win East and Central Africa Cup in Uganda. 7. GRZ, FAZ and KCM please help the Zambia National soccer team qualify to Ghana 2008 by putting more effort in making sure the national team play at least 4 friendlies between now and June 1st. If Ghana can play Brazil in Swenden, what can stop us play England or France? We are very lucky we drew with Congo because we were in a titanic. How can you win a match in the Congo without having any serious preparations? Gone are the days when we just wake up beat countries like Congo 4-0. Lets get serious. I agree with Joe in not letting our national team play countries we taught how to play football in africa but rather play the big boys eg: Angola, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Cost and others. Why do we always play DR Congo and Zimbabwe everytime FAZ lineup a friendly? Are they easy to secure? And when it comes to players, let single out one good player; Chaswe Nsofwa. Have we forgotten the energy he brought in Zambia vs Angola cosafa game? Please give players a chance

8. Coach Phiri I would like to congratulate you for the good job you have done to nationa team and Zambian soccer in general. Coach I woild like to know how you select players to the national team this is beacuse I feel some good and talanted players are left out. I’m talking about Chaswe Nsofwa, Gift Kapamba, Andrew Sinkala, Moses Sichone and so many othere out there. My suggestion to you coach is: please organise a friendly with players pro-football outside zambia and the current national team and then have a wide selection because some of the current national are not better than the other you are not using. We have alot zambian playing playing outside zambia and are not given a chance and most of them have delivered in the past. We love you coach phiri and I know we have a chance to go Ghana 2008

9. Zambian are very interesting to listen to. You are the same people who made Kalu to quit. The man had vision for the young Zambian players. Since He is not at the helm of FAZ,He cannot do much.The FAZ excutive under Mulonga are know very well for the fact to lead and build national teams requires a competitive friendlies. How can FAZ not displine ZANACO for not releazing the players on time? How do you expect coach Phiri to react? YOU CANNOT REAP WHERE YOU DID NOT SOW.
   Please FAZ and Namulambe, learn proper planing for players allowances even for win,lose,or draw.

10. Fellow football fans. The solution for Zambian soccer does not lie in employing a foreign coach. You can buy a brand new engine for a rotting car body, but you will not disguise it’s rottenness. What we need is woo sponsors for our teams at club level. Did we have a foreign coach when the perished team was kicking ass all over Africa? We need our government to deliberately include in their offerings for these mines to investors, an adequate funding policy for soccer teams. We also need FAZ to be serious with the way they handle preparations for the team. Why do we always expect miracles from a team that has been inadequately prepared? We behave as though we have never had lessons to learn from in the past. It is a disgrace to watch this kind of behaviour permeate the very core of our footballing genius. Let FAZ put up a long-term soccer development program that will bring sanity to administration of soccer as well as raise the standards of our players. Tubombele pamo bane

11. phiri is doing as good as he-or Mourinho- could with the material at his disposal. Get back to youth football academies.
    But as an economist i dont buy the idea that tying investors to soccer sponsorship would be acceptable. Anything investors will do must make business sense. We can think of more subtle methods.

    football player as at now plays for big clubs in europe like Ivory coast , Ghana and Cameroon and you want us to be on top.
    First of all, let us produce local players with world
    stardands, improve all our football training schools to world class stardands then we can start thinking of going to the world cup if we dont meet such stardands, its going to be a shame to all the mother Zambians when they meet big nations like Italy,Brazil and Germany in the same group

13. If faz can go ahead in employing a foreign coach, then it is the batch of useless people who have no vision and who do not care whether they flash the money in the toilet or not. Honestly we do not need a foriegn coach. If he comes, let him go Nkana or Mufulira wanderers and see how bad he would be at coaching. You guys at faz please try to shake up your brain a bit and think like Zambians.

15. Zambain Abroad, you have missed one important point, our nation team is not rotten, the lads are enger to acquire skills with the little resources available. They are able to make wonders. No wait, I agree with you, FAZ is rotten and then team also. The all batch looks like they were collected from one roof. Surely how can that batch sidelined Namulamba’s idea of not engaging a foreign coach? Namulama may be you are too weak and your weight can not be felt.

16. ‘Ba FAZ ni ba sakala nyongo fye’ why can’t you send these boys to a meaningful training camp where they play good sides? Look at South Africa, just coming from beating Chad 3-0, what do they do? They go play Bolivia and what has FAZ done? Nothing, only talking about the bring in a foreign coach, honestly speaking what will the foreign coacch do for Zambia that Phiri hasn’t done? Phiri and Simukonda have done a lot for Zambia and I think even the players are used to be coached by them. When the foreign coach gets the job he cost not less than $15,000 per month, now don’t you think thats the kind of money our boys need to be send abroad and play better teams? The foreign coach is not a solution, lets get real and use what we have. A foreign coach will just confuse our players and the system. Let us look back and see how these so called foreign coaches have faired its shameful to say only 2 or 3 have really put in the effort, you know why? They are foreigners so they have nothing to lose

17. The new coach is not going to change things right now.Let Phiri continue with the boys. It will take time for the new coach to study each player. The goverment should pump in same Kwachas to prepare for the games remaining. The boys get shaky when facing other teams because they don`t play friendly games to build up confidence.

18. You guys should stop cheating yourselves. Phiri doesn’t have the capacity to take Zambia to the 2008 finals. At present Zambia doesn’t have international class coaches. Thats why we need a good foreign coach that Phiri and others can understudy. Phiri is easily exposed when he meets a clever coach like Pitso from South Africa. Kalusha is technically more superior but you have never allowed him to complete what he started. Mbafuchile is international class but he is abroad.so you have no choice except a foreign coach

19. Sam K its you who doesn’t know facts. Foreign coaches have been more succesful than local coaches. Buselic won silver medal at Nations final. Porterfield won silver medal there too. Tyler won the East african little thing you are talking about two times. these coaches did noteven spend much time with the team unlike yourlocal coaches who spend centuries b4 winningpetty prizes

21. Another Soccer Fan No. 1. I must point out to you that you have priorities a little mixed up. Patrick Phiri has not failed because he is inadequate. The structures in FAZ have failed him. Do you think he can adequately prepare a team for a crucial tie if he doesn’t have the necessary resources. It is up to our football administrators to put in place a well defined football program and training camp for our national teams. Look at the management skills that we had at Nkana Red Devils in the past. We cannot shoulder the blame on P.P. or Simukonda. Take these guys for professional training and you will start noticing the difference. The problem we have is we would rather cure something than prevent it. That’s just the nature of the African way of doing things. Imagine, the World Cup is 3 years away, but we have not had any meaningful and workable ideas to capture that huge inflow of forex. Sit down and get your heads out of the past, what the country needs is a soccer Academy where young future players will be educated about dicipline ,self confidence, life, along with skill traning ( get kids off the streets and give them dreams)take for example Drogba and Eto, McCarthy, these are brothers showing us that through self determination the sky is the limit.Why do think most players in europe are from west africa? They are spotted at ACADEMYS so stop bickering like a bunch of old women and start acting, lets be real most of our players do not have that vision of wanting to be the best in the world , it seems like when the money comes in–its party time and no show at training, give these guyz a foundation for hope and see what wonders will occur, it is so easy to set up and all it takes is determination, stop arguing and start acting for crying out loud. peace the B-MAN

26. People like Paul Sfax Kapamba need good lecture from Chitalu-US. Chitalu has pointed out some facts that need to be syphoned into Paul. There are some teachers who knows the material to teach students very well but they do not know how to deliver, and all what the students will do is to ask for notes from him. This the situation happening in Zambia, we need the boys to be given notes, exponse them to more international friendly matches rather than flashing the money in the toilet as a salary for a foreign coach. Paul do you understand? If you don’t please remove the specks from your eyes and wax from your ears and listen and watch what’s happening in the country in the realm of soccer. It’s shameful to go and take part in the competition aiming to come second and get silver medals and get prode of it. Paul, please stop talking about soccer better watch games like bowling or “ichiyenga”.

27. “Stupid thinking” How can the entire FAZ nearly refused to pay the boys their dues after drawing with Congo in the pretext that a draw was not budgeted for. That will demoralise the boys and affect them in the psychologically in the next matches. Really FAZ makes me feel like punking. Minister Namulamba,where are you. You are you are MINISTER of sports and need not to be dragged. The time of “yes sir” is over and let your weight be felt.
