
President Rupiah Banda is today scheduled to open the MMD provincial conference in Solwezi.
This would be the fifth MMD provincial conference the President will be opening after successful conferences in the Copperbelt, Central, Western and Eastern provinces.
This is according to a statement released to ZNBC news by President BANDA’s special assistant for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere.
And President Banda has called upon MMD members to continue exhibiting discipline, unity and resist any attempts to engage in violent conduct.
The provincial conferences will lead to the National Convention slated for this year ahead of the 2011 tripartite elections.
The President would be accompanied by MMD National Chairman, Michael Mabenga, Finance Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane, Works and Supply Minister, Mike Mulongoti and other senior government officials.
Provincial Chairman Pinakin Peter Patel has said in an interview that all arrangements have been made for the conference which will be attended by two hundred delegates.
