Mbesuma Inspires Golden Arrows To Victory

Share

Troubled striker Collins Mbesuma on Sunday inspired Golden Arrows to 2-1 away league win over local rivals Amazulu in Durban.

Mbesuma scored in the 10th and 4th minute before 13th placed Amazulu got one back through Tangeni Shipah on the hour-mark.

The goals were Mbesuma’s first for Golden Arrows since joining them in December after being cast away in the wilderness in July for indiscipline by Moroka Swallows.

The Zambia striker was substituted in the 67th minute after scoring his brace for 7th placed Arrows who recorded their first league win since November 14 when they beat visiting Mpumalanga Black Aces  3-1.

Mbesuma’s career has plummeted since becoming a hit from 2003 to 2006 with the Under-23 team and Kaizer Chiefs but a move to Europe that took him from England, Portugal and Turkey saw his form slump from which he has yet to recover.

Meanwhile in other news, the Zambia under-=23 team today drew 1-1 away to TP Mazembe in a friendly match played in Lubumbashi.

Felix Nyaende scored for Zambia in the 37th minute before TP equalized three minutes later.

  1. Nonsense..why raising alrms about Mbesuma now?
You LT are a very useless news carrier..you are so biased and write only things that suite you and MMD.To hell with your news abt Mbesuma

  2. #1 Don’t kill the messenger. I see you are a hard core FAT BOY’s supporter, but come on man, this was just a fluke. FAT BOY’s real age is 41 years old and his glorious days are behind him

  3. Drawing 1 – 1 against a full strength TP Mazembe side is quite an achievement. There a very very good club and would implore teams like Zesco United go there as opposed to Tanzania honestly. There the second best club in the world after all.

  4. This is good news indeed. This is one Zambian footballer that had tons of potential and if he can reawaken the giant in him then much the better for Zambian football. He belonged to that class of players who could carry the entire team with him. I still remember his 3 goals away to Congo Brazzaville. Best wishes to him on his continued rehabilitation, we should really not write off people.

  5. Don’t be too quick in condemning bamutola nkhani…learn to appreciate bafyatile!!!!! BULLSHIT!!!!

Mbesuma we need more of that performance.

  6. No.13 you still speak of Mbesuma having “potential” at this stage of his playing life? When will the “pontential” mature then? If he couldn’t mature in Europe, then where, when? Like HK, no.9, I am surprised Mbesuma still plays. Even if that was the case, don’t we have younger players to do the job and not relying on players whose knees creak loud enough for fans in the stands to hear? Did one of you say “Good luck Mbesuma”? Man, that’s harsh! Wishing him a peaceful retirement would have been best.

  7. Mbesuma is good nw indiscipline again it hs costed him his career he hs gone back to his old bad ways, Ba King David that name should mean well not for Fun or jst to be cereblity NO!

  8. talent and discipline are tandem in nature. equally age and talent contribute to proficiency. Mbesuma seems to be a failure of oneself. Surely one cannot curtail news of being fired for indiscipline or things like that? Rubbish…… Our pals in the north retire or get sidelined by injuries. better that way. Nomba imwe fya bupubafye. Do they even have personal managers? Kaya………………….!
