The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) in Kitwe has welcomed the Lusaka High Court’s decision to nullify the election of Joseph Malanji as Kwacha Member of Parliament.
Yesterday, the party held a victory roadshow around the Constituency as the losing UPND Kwacha Parliamentary candidate Charles Mulenga arrived in the city from Lusaka.
Mr. Mulenga, who is the petitioner in the matter, told party members that God has given the people of Kwacha Constituency a second chance to choose their leader of choice.
He advised people in the Constituency to support the UPND because it is aimed at developing the country.
Mr Mulenga said he petitioned Mr MALANJI’s election because he was convinced that he has NO Grade 12 certificate and the Lusaka High Court proved him right.
And, UPND Kitwe District Information and Publicity Secretary Jim Kaunda said that even if Mr Malanji decides to appeal the judgement in the Constitutional Court, the ruling party will wait for the courts to decide.
Mr Kaunda said that UPND is a law-abiding party and it will give chance to the Judiciary to dispose of the case.
Meanwhile, UPND Kitwe District Youth Chairman Bowas Kapata said the youth wing of the ruling party will soon go flat out in the Constituency to mobilize its members.
Mr Kapata says the party does not want to waste time because, after the legal battles, a by-election will definitely be called.

ECZ who approved Malanji should sue the Judge. The Kitwe judge seems to be wrong, and should be investigated quickly by Vincent Malambo, not the soft Mumba Malila.
#2 I was surprised to see that the ECZ who scrutinized the MPs credentials has been overruled by the Lusaka High Court.
Celebrating nullification after judgement has been passed it okay but having a roadshow is premature and ill-advised given that Malanji has appealed to Concourt and they will take longer than 48 months remember that Malanji will still be MP until judgement is passed and he will do everything in his powers to win over the people’s hearts.

The celebration was premature because Malanji has already intimated that he will appeal to the Constitutional Court against the High Court’s decision where anything can happen. You only celebrate when the highest court of appeal, in this case the ConCourt, rules in your favour.

kanamaso kakubeka – Malanji has a strong case on his side I can see him being declared winner by the Concourt as High Court threw out the two grounds associated with electoral malpractice…on the issue of the third ground GCE Certificate he only has to produce it as he alleges that he has it in his possession. I wouldnt say the same about Bowman..he is better off leaving it as he has a chance to contest again now if he is up to it!!
Nothing to despise Grade 12s but what would you expect from a failure? being appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs?? Lungu will go the Most Useless president. Appoint based on Merits. We have a lot of Degree Holders who can do a Good Job.
Malanji should just shut up otherwise we will have him arrested for presenting a False Grade 12 certificate. He stayed in Power and ate free taxpayers money. He is a crook and should pay for his sins.

Malanji’s natiopnality too is suspect, that man is Chimbundu from Angola. And once its settled he does not have a Grade 12 certificate as we all know, he must be prosecuted for forgery, and I hope its an unbailable offence. It’s like Sata, the man was a Grade 1 failure but he forged a certificate to enable himself to run for president.
But Malanji is also a Chimbundu from Luanda in Angola, did he renounce his Angiolan nationality?

Malanji was born and brought up in ZAMBIA. He did his Secondary School in Chingola. All this nonsense about his tribe has nothing to do with the nullification of his vote. The celebration is also childish excitement. He is appealing and also remember even if the appeal fails elections will have to be held again. So it’s not like the Upnd have grabbed the Kwacha seat.

What are they celebrating about? Do you think they can take kwacha constituency away from PF? Wishful thinking, just brace for another embarrassment. Zambians are funny people and this time they will give any contested for seat back to the PF, unless the seat is in the South or West. This is why they thought it would be a waste of time to also petition the seats from these areas, you all know the reason why. Malangi is so popular there and should be barred finally, whom ever he will support will embarrass the UPND.
